They said there would be a break in the heatwave starting last night and now it'll last another week.

Ignorance isn’t bliss!
This is the hottest summer I can recall in the U.K. and my memory goes back to the early 1970’s.
I’m enjoying it why I can,if the next 5 years are similar, then I will start to become concerned.

We have had average temperatures all summer thus far, a couple really hot days but nothing out of the ordinary except more rain in July than we usually get...I may plant a late season crop in my garden because of the extra rainfall...

Its the best summer here I can recall for like 20 years or something. Today went with family to a very nice and secluded
small beach. Swam in the sea and sat in the sun for a couple of hrs.

Now back home.. I´m like burning up.. Got burned, heh Its 28 Deg C INSIDE.. ooouch

Its in the evening. Windows open, Fans blasting... But HOT HOT HOT
The temp inside my apt. goes down to 25 first in the early morning...

It was 105 in the shade today. There's a nagging high pressure system centered around the four corners area.

Death Valley set record for the hottest month ever recorded.
Death Valley just set the record for the hottest month ever recorded on Earth
California's Death Valley has smashed its own record for the hottest month ever recorded anywhere.

Preliminary results suggest the month's average temperature was 108.1F (42.28C).

This edges out the previous record, set in the valley at the same time last year, when the average was 107.4F (41.89C).

Hosepipe ban cancelled days before predicted second heatwave
"It eclipsed the record by quite a bit," said Todd Lericos, a meteorologist who leads the Las Vegas National Weather Service, noting the new average will need to be reviewed before entering official record books.

The temperatures are measured at Furnace Creek in Death Valley National Park, a desert in south eastern California that includes Badwater Basin – the lowest point in North America.

The location also holds the world record for highest temperature ever recorded – 134F (56.67C) – set on July 10, 1913.

The valley got its morbid name from a group of pioneers who got lost there in 1849-1850 and thought it would be the end, according to the National Park Service. Only one died, however, before they found their way out.
