The shadow knows!
one year ago my life was turned upside down.
I was robbed in a parking lot near my work.
my wallet phone and car keys were taken.
by the time I was able to call my bank and cancel my cards the thieves had used my credit cards. my debit card needing a pin number was used less.
But once my car was recovered the true pain started.
to help my girls took jobs. one at KFC and working with my wife part time at the modeling agency.
the other at Mc,D. the bills slowly got paid. thanks to understanding creditors.
I'm still stuck with credit problems.
I'm still paying on the deductible on car repairs.
It's been one year. this holiday will be brighter. by this time next year this will be a bad memory.
over the last year my friends my family all shown me that in a dark hour I am loved.
One final note the robbery taught me there are things that money can't buy.
last Christmas eve after the kids went to bed I sat with Rikki the lights low the tree shining sipping hot cocoa. she said "we made it." and it was all good.

16 years ago today at 9;40 AM Kaitlin Daisy entered our lives. At 2;10 PM the same day her twin sister joined our family.
They arrived early and Kate weighed 7,2 Deb at 6,11.The stay in the hospital was brief. 14 days just to be sure.
Last years celebration was muted by the robbery. This year we plan many fun things! Dave and Busters to start! Then I will watch the younger kids at the beach while Rikki and the twins go wind surfing. Then off to a movie night out. But a surprise awaits! We quietly arranged coach flowers to inform Deb she made the freshman cheer team! and will be on squad B. (Boys and girls basketball ,wrestling, volleyball.) As for Kate her fortunes are not yet set as try outs are not until Sept. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the love of our lives. Our wonderful girls! From diapers to High School! The future awaits!

yesterday my twins came home excited.
Kate's Girl friend had told her about a Jr fall roller derby league Kate went and checked it out. then told her sister.
Deb went and they came home excited that they wanted to join! after being assured that practice would not interfere with school and other activities Rikki and I signed off on IT!
This will do them well. friendships teamwork and fun await!

Took this new job as Plant Manager 4 weeks ago, here on the fifth week my boss and the owner of the business are out of town for two weeks to attend a trade show leaving me to run the business solely...Nothing I can't handle,, I guess it does show me they have full confidence in me, but still, after 4 weeks leaving me to handle everything, wow...

Well, I just wanted to say that I joined AE because I am so f*****g bored I spend my days trying to bite my elbows.
Keeee-rap-onastick that's a long story that bores even me.

Suffice to say I seem to be enjoying my AE experience so far. I belong to two other forums, **************** Well three really but have sort of decided I've had enough of one of them which will remain nameless because I am, in general, polite. Thing is, the other forums are are quite specific (and interesting to me) but I needed something like this so I can satisfy my urges to #1) write anything and #2) actually indulge a weird and esoteric interest.

So far so good!

EDIT! so like two minutes later I got paranoid and did a bit of editing. Anybody work on old cars or have an affinity for milsurps lemme know. Thanks!

last night the Bell street Bullfrogs played their last game of the season
they finished 8-12. my son had a base hit and 2 strike outs.
we were joined at chunky cheese by his friend Brad and his family.
Brad is the starting pitcher for the park street pelicans. the same boy who hot him with a pitch. the two are now fast friends! My son then schooled me in whack a mole!
so my son's team may have had a losing record but my son gained a friend and learned a lot.
And that made him a winner.

Rikki and I saw an opportunity.
The twins have their 1st practice at Jr roller derby. followed up by basketball camp (Kate). And cheerleading practice. (Deb)
We arranged for the other kids to spend the day with Grandpa and Grandma Burris. A task Rikki's folks agreed to happily.
and so Rikki and I have a "us " day!
starting with olbrick gardens and then lunch at Ruth Chris. maybe a romantic walk. and dinner at "the lookout "

I was up late last night 2:30am and out on the front porch smoking a cig when i heard 2 rock clacks, 3 times in 5 minutes. i came from an area behind the houses across from me, in a spot where there is a 20 foot drop off into a swampy marsh pond. that nobody in there right mind would be in during total darkness besides bigfoot,

So today I did nothing at all, no chores, no work, no reading other than reading on the forum and posting...I listened to music off and on all day, sipped some wine here and there, took a nap and nothing else...First time in months I've just taken a whole day just to relax...

That sounds like a good habit to get into, especially for a guy juggling a few businesses and a total operational makeover for a significantly sized industrial plant.

I've always wanted to test the old adage about taking one day out of seven to just relax and enjoy life, but I never have the time, haha.

Sometimes I feel like modern life is a race to the grave.

Holy cow - y'know, I expect that kind of thing living in hurricane country, but for some reason I assumed that Wisconsin was exempt from that kind of thing. Isn't that unusual up there?

I'll never forget what my old boss, the Director of R&D at Acclaim Entertainment, once told me - he said that global warming isn't so much about the warming, as it is about delta: the instability factor. Because as we add energy to the global ecosystem, it becomes more and more unstable: record highs, and record lows; more freak flooding and more freak droughts - aka, greater entropy. It's weird to realize that the increasing level of chaos in human civilization is being reflected in the global climate, but that's exactly what's happening. Like in that 1982 film Koyaanisqatsi: Life Out of Balance.

Been training woodchucks as an alternative to the standard remedy. Just trying to sit out on the deck with the dog and she goes nuts when they are out. Nobody gets any peace and quiet. There is a virtual Line of ... well not Death but Irritation ... too close to the house and they get zapped with a BB. Not enough to hurt just discourage. Now all I have to do is whistle and they scatter. Intellectually stimulating activity for a grown man, right?

Last night's flooding was the worst Madison Wisconsin has experienced. The sky just opened up. I half expected to see an ark drift by. From our condo it looked like the world was coming to an end.
it took 2 hours for us to get our kid from Westgate mall. it was the worst situation!
Add to it that power was shut down at Westgate.
