Gene Steinberg's Financial Shenanigans @ Paracast forums

So to those who ever doubted my claim that they eat EVERY meal from takeout... still wondering? Who goes to a restaurant with less than a dollar, and expects to walk away with food? Who DRIVES a LEASED car to a restaurant to mooch a meal? Not that I even actually believe the story... Gene is a compulsive liar who spews bullshit without restraint, he expects people to believe he's got a dollar to his name while he's "saving up" for a new apartment. According to his claims, he'd rather rip off a restaurant owner than visit a community foodbank, because he could never prove he's impoverished enough to qualify for a food handout. His lies are unraveling in open view, his circular nonsense is collapsing, and I can't say I'll shed a tear for his dishonest, sleazy ass. He's creating his own reality.
I don't want to spoil anyone from being charitable, but for years I worked for a local church at Christmas time. They would give away hundreds of toys (including bikes) to poor kids in a poor neighborhood, using the local grade school as the distribution point. I don't know exactly how families qualified but I believe they had to be enrolled in the school. But a few times I had to assist the family taking a bike or other goodies to the car. I was shocked! There were new shiny Cadillacs and Lincolns being loaded up with free toys. It was disheartening at best. I realized that any time you advertise FREE anything, there will be people who have enough money to live 10,000 years who will show up with grasping hands. Nonetheless, I know the majority of people did need the help. Frankly, I am surprised that the Trump family wasn't there loading up free bikes into their gold plated limo. GREED is a very powerful addiction in this country. My therapist might say that such people are trying to fill up a soulless emptiness inside with external symbols of security and affluence (which equates to personal integrity in this nation to at least half the voters).

Reading David Biedny’s Twitter post made me wonder. Is it conceivable that Steinberg has pulled in a million dollars over the course of his begging? I know he doesn’t have that kind of cash now, but he seems to be a master at pulling the financial wool over people’s eyes.

After a long debate I agreed to post this in response of the last letter By Mr. Steinberg. I post his on behalf of myself and my husband.
Both myself and my husband agree that this sums up the most recent letter sent out and I alone will shoulder the Karma.

Stranded!

Hi,

I don’t know what’s worst.

The registration for the family car expired several weeks ago. I was able to survive a wile with temporary registration tags, but no more. It means I’m stranded, and I’m unable to driveg for Lyft and Uber until the car is legally registered.

Besides, public transportation outside of Phoenix is limited, and it’s a long walk even to the nearest bus stop.

I have to pay the motel by 11 AM Arizona time to stay here. The front office is cracking down on late payments, so if I don’t pay I don’t stay.

As you realize, even a cheap motel is more expensive than an apartment, so I somehow have to put aside money to finance a move and leave this miserable place.

I keep promising good news, and I’m working with the web developer/marketing person to finish up the new Paracast site and online store. It should go live in a few days, but obviously it’ll take a while for cash flow to improve.

In the meantime, I’m trying hard to get past this nightmare.

Are you able to help me survive for a few more days?

Ghost thank you for sharing these here.

If he is telling the truth - always the big if with Gene - seems like his schemes are starting to break down further. Now he can't drive, which means he can't make any money from Lyft or Uber (if he ever did...).

Paying for the motel has to be a strain but with a combined monthly income of $2800, I think the Steinbergs will continue to be able to pull it off. In fact if they prioritize paying their motel bill - as one would think they must - then there is no reason to keep claiming it as a daily crisis, save dishonesty and how Gene wishes to frame his problems. They just won't have a lot left to do anything they want to do (slot machines were alleged recently, which rings true to me but, I do not know), much less pay any other bills and also save up for a new apartment.

He really shouldn't have stiffed the Desert Mirage. If he actually could have afforded it as he claims.

So now we're down to Gene's alleged Hail Mary pass, the new Paracast site and online store. This is I think more likely to happen than his wife's non-existent purse business, and it might even give him a little bump in dollars (I've mocked it but he might sell a few t-shirts or mugs, right? maybe charge for old episodes or something...?). But I have to think this is not going to solve his financial problems even in the short term. Long term Gene himself and his behavior are the problem, and at his age there may be no solution, unless he gets a miracle cash windfall somehow. The picture remains grim. And Gene long ago killed any natural sympathy I would have had for him.

I have zero belief that the Paracast site and online store will bring any significant money in. Gene has made the Paracast show itself unlistenable and that is the main means of drawing people to the website.

Further as I have heard from many successful podcasts, web stores don't make any significant money for them. In fact compared to the amount of time they require in terms of work they are not worth it in most cases. The only reason podcasts do it is as a service to their most hardcore fans who usually request them.

If this all applies to successful shows that are doing well and growing their audience, how will the Paracast store do better?

I doubt very many people listen to the Paracast now and with every passing day I suspect the numbers are declining (a combination of the show being garbage and news of Gene's disgusting actions spreading throughout the community).

Why would anyone buy memorabilia for a show they don't listen to or have never even heard of?

Even avid podcast listeners don't buy this kind of stuff - I listen to lots of podcasts but I have never in my life bought a T-shirt from them.

So I suspect even when it comes to the listeners the number of people who buy branded products are a minority within a minority.

Gene's idea that this revamp will do anything is another means for him to pretend that things will change in his newsletter so that he can tell people that the latest crises are only temporary.

I doubt that even he believes it will change things, it is all part of the grift and a typically lazy attempt to suggest that he is actually doing something to change his situation whilst actually doing nothing.

The only "active" thing that Gene does is beg and if he is still around in 5 years he will still be doing exactly the same thing.

I enjoyed the show for years and never knew how the sausage was made. Didn't actually matter until recently. Being new to all this I wonder why CO stayed as long as he did? As for the specifics of Gene's situation - do they really matter? If you have to as 'why' the answer is always money and this apparently works for him. Problem is you keep doing the same thing over and over and one day it doesn't.

Trainwreck fascination ...... even if I feel a bit odd about it all

Sadly I think you are correct in all this. (Though I had imagined he has enough listeners to sell a little merchandise but, your points are persuasive to me.)

The Paracast show has been a disaster for some time now. Very few people comment on the most recently released episode. The idea that a redesigned website will draw in more revenue is laughable at best. What person will hang around when Steinberg constantly deletes comments that irk him? The remaining members are just hangers on who don’t contribute anything financially.

The Paracast only serves one purpose. To allow Steinberg to shill for money. There is no other reason for it to be around.

When I saw the title of today's episode, I thought of the various versions of "Stranded" (to the tune of the theme song from the old television series Branded):

Stranded
Stranded
Stranded on a toilet bowl

What do you do when you're stranded
And there ain't nothing on the roll?

As always, Gene's emails leave more questions than answers. A few days ago, cash flow was improving and he was saving for a new apartment. The next thing we knew, he had to beg for a meal. If he was saving money, why did the registration go unpaid? If he was driving for Uber and Lyft, why did he have to get a free meal? And now he is stranded, waiting for a new web site. What do you when your stranded?

How can he let the registration expire for vehicle (The only form of income i can see as radio show, well thats tanked) but has money to burn on a web developer and wanting a solicitor to go after truth tellers amongst others.

Only once many many moons ago did I gift the grifter muppet some of my hard wonger.

Did not take me long to cotton on but I kept listening but never got involved in the forums
and never subscribed to paracast+.

Surely by now he must be able to get it into his head that he cannot make a living begging or from the failing radio show and web site.

Logic dictates 'I have a family, it is my duty to keep a roof over my and my families head and keep them fed and warm, safe, to do this I need a job that pays money not pipe dreams of a radio show and failed scams'

I don't feel sorry for the Steinberg clan given the stories I've read for 89 pages & growing but if he did hit the casinos that sounds like less a frivolous fool hardy act than a desperate act.

I've never in my entire life heard of any kind of hotel type establishment that allows late payment - AT ALL.

They simply don't do it, because if they did they would have every freeloader for miles around coming and trying their luck (not just Gene) just so they could get a free night's stay.

If you pay late, you get thrown out and you can't go back there. You may also get the police called on you. No exceptions.

The fact he is staying there for weeks means he has been paying and paying on time.

This is just another example of the constant BS that Gene spins to try to weasel money out of people for everyday costs - all whilst keeping what happens to the $2800 he gets every month (for sitting on his backside) a secret.
