So has this been about the 1000 time that he managed to Scrabble some change together to pay off the wolves at the door (again). We gotta put a limit on the number of analogies he's allowed to use in a given week.

Exactly. What percentage of forum users/listeners would actually buy merchandised crap anyway?

I would say 5 percent would be an extremely optimistic estimate for forum users and for podcast listeners the figure would likely be even lower as there are so many extra steps.

These are not essential items that are in great demand. So basically Gene would be lucky to get one or two sales in the shop in a week.

As always he is basing all hope on something completely unrealistic which any rational person would see is a waste of time. The actual time costs in terms of running the store will likely be more than any made (assuming it was done properly which with Gene being a lazy bugger is extremely unlikely) .

I find it hard to believe that he is that stupid.

It is more likely that this is just a means for him to create the false impression he is trying to do something without having to do much work by putting up a Cafe Press or similar site purely for the sake of appearances.

Cafe Press (and similar hosted) stores make even less money than personally hosted and stocked merchandising stores because Cafe Press takes a large chunk of the profits.

Plus he has chased away the bulk of the membership. 10% of zero is still zero.

from what we have heard, he is in the motel, in fact a staff menber of the motel he is made a brief comment in a twitter discussion saying that there is a bus stop just down the road

if he did that, he would lose all internet presence, i doubt any other podcast wants him

Well the thing is I'm sure Kimball flipped in the past then quickly flipped back and went back on the show where they were all "pally" again. Either Gene has a bad memory (so many people to blacklist) and forgot or he doesn't care as long as they flip back. Maybe Kimball even apologised or used some lawyer-speak that created the illusion of an apology.

Kimball was very critical of SchemeGene. Then, some years later he was back on the show with some project to promote. When asked what the deal was, he said something along the lines of "Why hold a grudge?" or something equally silly, like it had been a petty disagreement. I had pretty well given up on Kimball by then for other reasons anyway, and now just ignore him.
