I was asked have my kids failed? have they ever misbehaved? heck yes.
I posted Deb almost went to jail. she foolishly went to party where booze and pot was.
only the fact she was arrested leaving and had none in her system saved her.
Ian broke his atm because he ran off school grounds and almost got hit by a car.
Kate made a poor choice in a "friend "
who is now shaming her for her sexual Orentation.
Deb loves cheerleading but gets frustrated because she wears glasses some kids call her the nerd cheerleader.
Are they perfect nope..

I have been working on KPIs all day, need to be set-up and up to date by tomorrow, very tedious calculating work to build these from the start...Once I have these set up it will be easy to keep inputting data into them day...

Just experienced a 'structured interview' and now think I know what an encounter with the MiB must be like.
Corporate policy - they have to be stone faced, totally non-reactive and carefully ask the same series of questions to everyone. They do tell you that up front but it's unsettling sitting there listening to the clock tick with them scribbling.

An odd experience to say the least.

I know I did just fine whether they offer me the position or not so I won't be reliving every moment until I hear back, which will be within a week. Too young to retire but too old to give a s*** anymore.

Its been seven weeks now since I took over plant operations at this local company, its consumed so much of my time too but this week the owner will be presented with a progress report from me, the first one as a matter of fact, showing the results of my efforts thus far, numbers don't lie...I'm finishing up my KPIs which will show little to no changes the first two weeks of my tenure but then a sudden positive change across the board in the third week, with steady positive improvements every week following to current...The company isn't making money, its in dire straits still and has been for a while, but we are on the right track now, by the first of the new year at the latest it will be a profitable business again...

I have a neat little free app called SkyView Lite on my smartphone that I wave at odd lights in the sky and it's been very helpful. Couldn't hurt, right?

Around here we have foxes and coyotes that make damned weird noises. Red foxes can let out a 'bad imitation of an owl' that you would never expect - makes my skin crawl when I'm out with the dog and its dark.

But if it is a Bigfoot, toss a few apples out there and lock & load :)
Started seeing that again, turns out its Venus,LOL thanks to.. https://in-the-sky.org/location.php
as of the other it was probably just another ghost.

Being retired for a number of years, I realize I don't miss work one damn bit. I had a well paid position at a giant corporation. Working for such a place brings a mountain of BS daily. I remember coming home stressed out all the time. I am glad that is over for this lifetime!

Good luck to all of you working the daily grind still.

Yeah, me too. Affected my health and sanity but the money was good.
As it turns out I was rejected rapidly after my structured interview so I ladled out some shit soup tonight. Probably for the best. This has been difficult, to put it mildly. We're fine but I must find something useful to do with myself.

I know plenty of people who won't give up the paycheck or feel they are indispensable to the company. There isn't a company in existence that can't find your replacement in a few weeks time.

Luckily, I have my artwork that takes up a good portion of time. There is always something to fall back on.

About 15 more years for me working unless I bail out and retire early lol...I rarely carry work stuff home to get stressed out about, if things go really well in the next five years I may pick door number three, early retirement...I'll keep ownership of one small business I have, in case I need to fall back on something...No company is worth burning my life out over, I can easily leave it behind me without a second thought...

I should add, if we have our current President for two terms I'm sure the next 5 years will go really well for the American economy, this can work in my favour for that early bird retirement plan lol...

Well, I'm in a F****d up mood tonight. Start early, spend a lifetime, get out on a r.i.f - with total expectation and several years preparation - and damn, you ain't that old. 54. Beyond tired of corporate BS yet when an opportunity presents itself you are drawn to it like a salmon. Can't help it. Shit, some of the men I worked with literally dropped dead on the job - one friend only a year ago - so what am I really looking for? They literally had to pull his dead ass out of the same kind of truck, wearing the same shirt ... yack.

Being a grizzled old hand I suspect that Structured Interview already had their candidate before I showed up and were just emptying the queue. Honestly if it went a younger person with some advantage - maybe military - I have zero issue any of that. I would like a few more shovels full but don't actually need it. Not like I deeply lusted for the position, just seemed like a good candidate. Had girlfriends like that years ago.

Might be a pigfarmer but not a pig. I am however, deeply chagrined.

I have one or two ideas up my ass. A cavernous thing that - expected to have magic fixes and all sorts of other spectacular things up there.

Sorry to wax loquacious.

I dropped my kids off at school. In the shadow of two shootings one on a metro bus. Where a 17 year old was shot in the leg. (different High school)
Lincoln Elementary on lockdown.
J.M.M. on high security. It troubles me greatly to see armed police roaming the halls. I went to the principles office.
"Is the police here really necessary? "
"Yes sir in light of the shootings"
How long will they be here?'
"As long as Mr. P---- sees fit sir."
"Is Mr. P----- in to answer questions?"
"I am sorry sir he is in a meeting with the board."
Also Little wonders day care was closed.
So Samantha is with her Grandparents! Who happily took her in for the day. Add to this homecoming was pushed forward to the 29th. Stupid or cautious. I am not sure at this point.

I have my whole weekend this weekend free of work, money making work anyway, as I need to change the brakes on my car tomorrow and change the oil, then sharpen my mower blades and mow the meadow and yard around my house...Chores on Saturday so I can rest and relax on Sunday...

Change in plans, with the heat index at 95 degrees right now and 72% humidity I think its a wise choice to postpone the bulk of the yard work and auto repair until tomorrow because temps tomorrow are going to be much much cooler, a high of 70 degrees and clouds...Tomorrow will be a more pleasant day for outdoor work...
