Gene insists that there is a fake dispute that has put him in the hole at PayPal, but that it eventually should be resolved in his favor. Money lost will be returned so send your "payments" to help him through this situation.

Without knowing anything about the dispute, I can't say it's not true.

Yet it also brings to mind how Gene insisted over the years that his brother in law was expecting a settlement - that the settlement was real and something that would have, should have resolved his financial problems. We now know that the expected settlement was a story to cover up the aftermath of fraud.

Perhaps Gene is in the right this time, but credibility is a fragile thing. And when you lose it, more is needed than writing about fake claims that should be resolved in your favor.

My brother-in-law is the victim of a malicious lawsuit so I lent him money but it's sure to be settled in his favor and he'll pay me back -

My bank accounts were hacked, the bank will refund me -

A fake advertiser scammed me for a refund, PayPal will restore the funds -

but until then I need your support! Just a little bit of a pattern there, eh?

Here’s my situation as of Saturday morning Arizona time:

My bank account has five cents in it; my PayPal account is overdrawn.

The motel’s front office gave me until today to run the authorization on my card after it failed yesterday. Maybe they took pity on an elderly couple with a beautiful little white dog. But I don’t want pity.

I could use some help to keep going, but it can’t be done via PayPal, at least for now. So I have to suggest other ways.

The fastest method is with Western Union or Moneygram. Walmart has a deal with Moneygram that offers a lower rate. You can send payments at your nearest Walmart store, or use the following link:

I can also accept payments via Apple Pay Cash which uses the Messages app on an iPhone or iPad for person-to-person transactions. Payments to me are instantaneous, but many motels and hotels don’t accept Apple Pay. So I’d have to transfer the money to my bank account, which usually takes from 1-3 business days.

Facebook Messenger might work, but I’m not certain that payments to my bank debit card are always instant; they were for me with a couple of small donations.

With ad payments and subscription payments to Paracast+ and Tech Night Owl+, the PayPal account should be replenished soon, so I can use it again.

Ah the old WU/Moneygram options - the scammer's choice. Obviously Gene's subscription to Scammer's Monthly and all those 419 scam forums are helping him refine his methods. He just needs to add Amazon Gift Cards and the trifecta will be complete.

Yes please ask him questions - he won't answer them and if you are really lucky he will insult you and call you a troll for trying to help him but that's the Schemey way. The only questions he will answer are along the lines of "Where should I send the money?" or "How much do you need?" - Schemey rules.

Nice to see this is back. Doesn't matter if you sign up to his begging-only list or not. You will still get the messages anyway, - but don't worry it is only temporary (for the last 12 years).

Observe that he never mentions receiving his or Barbara's social security payments or where that money goes. He is broke every day as if that money doesn't exist. He never mentions the costs of keeping his lame (never updated as promised every day for the last month and a half) website and podcast going.

Good point. He has deliberately kept his actual finances as opaque as possible. He doesn't want to take the risk of people finding out that he isn't actually as poor as he makes out.

His previous bankruptcy (in 2016 which BTW was not his first one) showed how he was actually getting a decent amount of monthly income but still struggling to manage because his outgoings were still greater - that is the most recent information we have and if it was up to Gene we wouldn't even have that.

Gene knows that if he told people how much money he was getting and how he was spending it, that absolutely nobody, not even the stupidest or most naive person would send him a penny and the begging game would be up.

I do believe he has previously said that his podcast and website costs are negligible but that doesn't really mean much with Gene.

He has previously spent vast amounts of money on new cars which he later described as being "modest" and necessary. Ironically he was still begging at the same time and I doubt most of the people he was begging from could have afforded such luxurious cars.

I myself was driving a 10 year old car which I couldn't afford to change at the time. I later had to get rid of it completely and couldn't afford to replace it - I didn't start begging, I just walked or used public transport.

I found out later that he was going on various car forums and bragging about his cars, their specifications, audio systems etc and generally looking down on other people who couldn't afford similar models.

That is the kind of person he is though, he sees himself as being someone who deserves only the best whether he can afford it or not and he looks down on everyone else.

The irony is that he can't afford those cars either unless he can sucker enough people to support his lifestyle and be a professional squatter who lives rent free. -You can't be getting evicted every few months and then take out a lease on a top spec new VW or Kia - unless you are Gene that is.

It is also clear that Gene knows this behaviour is wrong which is why he tries to conceal it in the places where he begs.

Fortunately he is too much of a moron to realise that if he brags about it anywhere on the internet it will get out - and even if he can delete forum posts he can't hide public records.

One way to consider the time that he wastes on the Paracast and Parasite is that this gives him a further excuse to avoid real work (which he seems to have a strong lifelong aversion to) this is in addition to the obvious fact that it gives him a list of suckers to beg from.

He wants to pretend his shitty Podcast is a real job, so he will say anything he needs to make it appear as if it is profitable and time well spent (note how he recently lied to someone about it's profitability to try to get them to invest in it).

Similarly he wants to own a new and highly specced car so he simply creates a storyline and narrative of working for ride sharing services in order to justify that. - Obviously if either of these storylines were actually true he wouldn't need to beg random people for money several times a day.

Any rational person can see the gaps in the logic, but Geney thinks if he talks fast enough and begs with enough frequency people won't notice.

The opacity with his finances, the podcast and the fake ridesharing job are all integral components of maintaining the whole scam, so Gene can keep sitting on his backside, do nothing and yet still buy all the things he wants and sneer at all the suckers that allow him to do it.

I noticed that Steinberg has stopped mentioning that he is saving up for another apartment. If he did mentioned it, people would tell him to put that money towards his PayPal deficit. He obviously doesn't want to do that and screw up a perfect (in his mind) scam.

I do remember from some months ago a person on the Paracast website wanting to purchase the website. I knew that was never going to happen. The Paracast is his venue for begging money. He would never get much for it in the first place. It's more valuable as a scheming platform.

Steinberg must be ultra lazy these days. He tells us he is down to his last nickel with minutes to go before he is thrown out in the street. Anyone familiar with the Steinberg saga knows he has NEVER been out in the street. He just can't think of any decent lies these days so he has to recycle a few oldies but goodies.

It was Mike,Black Angus on here who wanted to buy the Paracast.Gene wanted him to donate not buy it and Mike thought quite rightly that Gene was taking the piss!.Soon after Mike was banned from the Paracast.

I'm not sure what I find more unbelievable here, the claim the motel let him stay after the authorization failed on his card, or that after sending hundreds upon hundreds of "poor me!" emails, he actually wrote, "I don't want pity." I mean yeah, sure, what he really wants is your cash, but most of the time he seems to think he needs your pity to get it.

I really, really hope people are getting wise to his scam.

I tend to believe that people are wising up to Steinberg. There is so much information out on the internet about his schemes. Some of his pleas have a desperation about them. He is down to his last coin, he only has a couple of hours to come up with the motel money.

Maybe there is the tiniest bit of truth there. I said tiny!! I don't believe that Steinberg can ever change. After years of not holding a job, who could or would hire this guy? He would be fired the same day he started a job.

For someone claiming to be a computer expert, he has been hacked and stolen from (by his own words) online. He is basically a buffoon when it comes to technical matters. I only hope that people finally understand what this schemer is all about.

I’ve been told a few times that asking for financial help online is a bad thing, even though lots of people do it for different reasons.

I take no joy in sending these messages. It’s a matter of the situation and the lack of alternatives.

A friend sent me a list of resources for the homeless, but temporary shelter would be akin to a death sentence for me when it comes to continuing to earn a living as I do now or boosting my income.

So here’s where it stands:

PayPal has evidently decided one of the payment disputes in my favor. My negative balance is lower, but it’s still negative. I have no idea how long it’ll take to restore the rest of my money.

In the meantime, a friend covered the motel for one night, and I have to settle on two more nights by midday Monday before I can open a new reservation to stay any further.

And here’s how you can help:

But Facebook also claims it can take up to five business days for transactions to arrive in a bank account. With a debit card, it may be fast regardless of the amount, since it appears to be similar to the method Lyft and Uber use to make instant payments to drivers.
