Gene Steinberg's Financial Shenanigans @ Paracast forums

That has got to be a very expensive storage place. It must be very nice. Maybe he should move in. I live in a small mountain town where home prices and rents are sky high. We have some stuff in storage, actually in two separate units, and $463 is approximately three months rent for us. For 400 square feet of dry storage in a secure facility. Building lots here start at $70k and old beat up rental houses go for $350k.

But I don't believe he has anything in storage. I think he's mooching somewhere and the storage and motel lines are as bogus as the settlement his in-laws were supposedly expecting. The guy is a pathological liar.

I think that's a good bet. If there's one thing you can count on with Schemey it's that he's lying and any money he manages to solicit will not be used for whatever he claims it will be used for. There is always another angle and that is why he keeps on begging and will never stop. Someone who has a temporary setback doesn't make these demands repeatedly. Schemey does it multiple times a week (if not daily) and has been doing it for at least 14 years. In no universe does that make sense (save for Schemey's twisted grifting mind).

We know Gene likes to jump at offers of free cash, but I still think an Anonymous commenter's office wouldn't motivate me much.

Granted, one would think the same of @TonyGwynnSex on twitter, and Gene drove to two McDonald's when that person offered him cash so, I dunno.

I have never driven for Uber or Lyft but I would think you could get some kind of records and screenshot and post them, if you wanted. If you were a driver.

That's the point. Gene will do anything for easy money, no matter how stupid, or how improbable the pay off.

- Therefore he would easily take the risk of getting nothing if all it required was printing off some driving records (even if not very detailed).

The fact that he won't do it just proves what most of us have known all along.

There is no Uber/Lyft driving going on.

If there were the combination of that with his social security would give him an income that would be above average and allow him to live a comfortable life.

It is a complete fabrication intended to allow him to continue spending his money on luxuries he can't afford (including a car he doesn't need) and keep begging for things which he should be able to pay for out of his SS.

As I think you said earlier, every now and then I catch myself realising just how insane this whole situation is.

- That a guy who has enough social security to live off if he just tightened his spending, continues to beg using ridiculous and false crises and refuses to get even a part time job to help himself.

He continues to lie about doing "his share" (which to any regular person would be 100% of his expenses).

Only in the sick, twisted mind of a degenerate conman is supporting his lifestyle everybody else's responsibility.

I still find it hard to take in.

I still think the thing is, it's not hard for Gene if somehow ever called on this point to say, "Why should I believe some Anonymous commenter?" I don't even know that's what he'd say but, it's not like someone like say (to pick a real world person who sometimes comments on @SchemeGeneRC) Paul Kimball made the offer. I agree in practice there's no reason knowing Gene's past behavior for him not to jump on this other than not wanting to reveal the truth about his driving, but the offer coming from 'Anonymous', imho, will make it seem reasonable to dismiss. I guess it doesn't matter much though it's not like there will be some legal inquiry into this. :)

Hah, OK, now an identifiable person, a known quantity to Gene, is promising to pay his storage bill ($436 I believe) if he posts the driving records in 12 hours. So there you go, if he wants the money he should bite on that offer.

that was me. my money has never been safer.

I thought so, and I hope you are right. Really, assuming he's paying attention to the comments there, you'd think he'd go for this, being so concerned about his storage. Of course his preferred solution is you give him money with no strings attached. But lacking that, yours seems a good offer to me. I hope he doesn't surprise you.

Wise of you. People take note! That's how to do it.

I think the issue of calling the storage company may put him off, since that whole thing may itself be a lie. That's why whenever someone wants to pay his bills directly he asks to speak to them on the phone so he can talk them into sending the money to him.

Oh sure. Why have the storage company get $436 when Gene could maybe get $500 for himself? You have to be smart about these things. Smart like Gene. When you've got a sucker with cash on the line you have to work them for everything you can.

The good news for Gene is that Barbara's share of social security arrived today and should be sufficient to pay for his stuff in storage.

I agree that if I were Gene I would not think it worthwhile to take advantage of an internet offer to provide generous help. From his perspective, as former President Bush said:

There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again.

But on the other hand, Gene has tried to fool people innumerable times and even if his storage gets paid for now it is just going down an endless hole. How many people are willing to be fooled again?

The only way out I can see is for Gene to be honest about his history and to document things that go beyond ride sharing - something that might point to an end game, such as an application for affordable senior housing. I don't expect anything to happen.

Steinberg won't pay the storage debt. Why would he? (I seriously doubt there is any of his junk in storage.) He can use that story to constantly harangue everyone for money. God only knows where that Social Security money is going to. Steinberg conveniently never talks about that large lump of cash. If he did mention it the cash faucet would dry up to a large extent.

I think it is quite telling. Someone offers money. All he needs to do is produce some evidence that he is driving a taxi. Steinberg is too much of a whore to pass that up. He would only bypass that money if he couldn't produce some transcripts that he is actually working.

He doesn't want you and me to actually pay any bills. He wants those Benjamins to go directly into his pocket.

so it ends. 12 hours. see I knew that he would not do it. even if it meant he lost his stuff. I recend the offer. because I know the law. the storage locker is a lie.
