Maybe Bab's will have to leave Gene and move on to more stable environs.

One wonders what options she has, if she is as out to lunch as some have described. Would her sister take her in? Her sister and her sister's husband looted Barbara's elderly father. I wouldn't want someone like that as my caretaker. But, who knows the mind of Barbara Steinberg. I mean, she married Gene.

Maybe she can go to Spain to live with Grayson and his boyfriend. That way she can have her colorectal condition destroy the toilet system over there and not ours.

Yeah, possibly Grayson could take her in or provide for her somehow. I'll guess that Barbara without Gene would be less of a headache but who knows which of the two of them are responsible for their destructive ways. Chris O'Brien once commented something to the effect of, Gene is an old man who doesn't want to live within his means and his wife has him by the short hairs. I have no idea. I've assumed Gene is the prime driver behind the bad behavior and she is more along for the ride but, thankfully I've never been around either of them to make any real assessment.

Anyway yes I would hope you are correct that Grayson could potentially care for his mother somehow, take her in or the like.

All this speculation would be fine if we were talking about normal humans, but we aren’t. I would tend to listen to Biedny and O’Brien who had some limited contact with the Steinberg’s. By their accounts those two are totally dysfunctional. Best to leave it at that.

More BS:

Drowning!
Hello,

I’ve lived at the motel for nearly six months now, and it’s been an impossible situation. I can’t keep up with other payments, or save for a regular apartment, which is lots cheaper.

As I said, I’m driving as many hours as I can handle, safely, at age 73. I’m working hard to boost cash flow for the sites and radio shows.

By the time you read this, mobile phone service may have been disconnected. I have other bills, plus an expensive scheduled maintenance due shortly for my car.

I need more a lot of help fast to catch up, so I have the time to get into a new place. Once that happens, it’ll be far easier to keep going.

Here’s how you can help me today — and the need is urgent.

For PayPal, please go to: Send Money, Pay Online or Set Up a Merchant Account - PayPal, login and use the Send to friends and family option. Enter my email address, gene@technightowl.com, and click or tap Next to continue the transaction.

Here’s another method if you’re not into using PayPal:

If you have an iPhone and iOS 11 or later, you can use Apple Pay Cash. You’d send the payment via the Messages app to: gene@theparacast.com

If you’re not able to send a donation, feel free to forward this message to someone who might assist.

If you have any questions about my living situation, please let me know.

Peace,
Gene

This seems telling (well, for the millionth time, if we can grant that he's more or less being honest):

"By the time you read this, mobile phone service may have been disconnected. I have other bills, plus an expensive scheduled maintenance due shortly for my car.

So allegedly he hasn't been paying his cell phone bill, which will sink his Uber / Lyft driving if he loses cell service. He also has "an expensive scheduled maintenance" due for his car, which again, is the car really worth it? I would argue no, but Gene is clinging to that luxury ride with a death grip.

Meanwhile I like that confidence ("Once that happens") he'll "get into a new place". This right after he whines about how he has been unable to pay his bills, never mind save for an apartment.

The solution, as always, is for anyone who happens to receive email from him to open their heart and wallet and hand him cash. Which will fix nothing, but seems to be the only hammer in Gene's world of nails.

He couldn't make things work in his last two apartments, and he was begging for cash the entire time, plus likely was taking in more from his podcasting activities. Not enough to make a living of course but, I'd imagine a little more revenue.

Over the past six months he's been unable to figure out how to budget and manage things properly to get into another apartment - he may not be able to find anyone who will rent to him anyway. He's been begging for cash that entire time, sometimes with more than one email a day.

While I am sure I will say more, what else can you say? If he's lying, I wouldn't give him money. If he's telling the truth, giving him money has not helped, so I would not give him any more.

I think it's possible things are finally catching up with him - that the motel living stage is going to lead not to the 'new place' as he dreams but to an even lower standard of living.

I could feel bad for him if he were not such an unrepentant creep and user. This isn't just "Wow it's tough to be 73 and poor in the US of A", which I'm certain is true. This is, "Wow, trying to swindle your way to a lifestyle that takes a six-figure income to support really catches up with you in the end."

I do love the warped logic of Steinberg. I can’t manage to pay any of my bills, but I am saving up still for an apartment. Say What!? He has now managed to tie the possible loss of his cell phone to losing the ability to drive for Uber/Lyft. Nice touch. He should have used that earlier. And lastly, I would never use the words “Steinberg” and “honest” in the same sentence.

I am pretty sure you must have the Uber or Lyft phone app to be able to drive for either company. So if his smart phone is gone, then he can no longer drive for cash. At least that's my impression. All the more reason to keep that bill current, if he was actually making enough money from driving to make it worth it!

He keeps telling us how much more expensive the motel is as opposed to an apartment and he could keep up if he just could get back into an apartment. Except he was evicted from two apartments this year alone for non payment of rent.

I looked it up. The renter has 5 days to reply for non payment of rent. If there is no reply, it can take 3-4 weeks for the sheriff to evict you. So times that by 2, the Steinberg’s manage to skate on being evicted by an additional 2 months on top of whatever they didn’t pay previously. Lovely.

And to read Steinberg’s normal reply, the landlords are always unreasonable about unpaid rent. This moron is too much. He loves to paint a picture where everyone is picking on “poor Gene.”

When Gene filed bankruptcy in mid 2016, he was driving a 2015 VW Passat, which was valued at $28K and change. He still owed about half that (which makes me wonder how he paid so much on it in a short period of time, considering he does not seem to like to pay bills). His monthly car payment was $674 then... which might help explain it?

I wonder if he still has the same car, though. Not sure with the bankruptcy.

If he is still paying $674 a month for a car, that seems insane to me. But if he has been paying $674 a month since mid 2015 on a loan or lease that had $14k remaining, he should've made some inroads on that loan or lease. I think. Hard to tell with his freaky finances.

My spouse and I both have good jobs and Gene is driving a much later model, significantly more expensive car than we have. And begs for money almost daily. Hell at the time Gene filed bankruptcy I was driving a 2002 model car I'd paid off years prior to that, that never cost anything near $674 a month. He seems to be a bit of a gadget man though, a guy who takes pride in having a nicer car, fancy iPhone, that sort of thing.

As I recall, there was supposedly a crash that totalled whatever car he was driving, sometime around the time of the bankruptcy. Pretty soon after it, it seems but that might have all been bullshit too. You can't tell. Seems he's been careful not to mention any details about whatever he is driving these days, since he gets roasted for buying fancy cars. Or leasing them at absurd rates. As with everything Schnorrberg, it does not add up. Reminds me of a phrase I heard now and then when I was a kid: Welfare Cadillac. There may have even been a popular song by that name.
