The Office of the Illinois Secretary of State said it strongly supports the First Amendment.

The statue will remain on display through the month of December.

Ignorance isn’t bliss!
Wow that’s nuts
And what I read in small print in the bottom it’s says it’s from the Freedom of religion foundation I believe. I wonder who’s running that
Why is it nuts?,I think believing in a invisible sky daddy is nuts.Keeping the state and religion separate is common sense.Look at the actions of fundamentalist Muslims and Christians if you don't believe the same nonsense as them!.

For me, freedom from religion is one of the key advantages to living in a liberal democracy. The founding fathers really had their shit together when it came to religion. Thanks, guys.

I guess my humble opinion is all this symbolism is bullshit and there’s is a sinister plot behind all of this.

Organized religion is all about keeping everyone in their place. It has very little to do with spiritualism. The bottom line for me has always been, think for yourself don't let others lead you down a path you don't wish to go.

To me, they are not true Satanists.
In its application for the display, The Satanic Temple-Chicago calls itself a nontheistic organization that aims to “encourage benevolence and empathy among all people.” The group also rejects tyrannical authority and advocates for common sense and justice, the application said.

Real Satanists in my opinion believe in a supernatural opponent or competitor to God. These guys are really secularists.

For essentially the same reason I don't consider the Church of Satan to be real Satanists.
The church does not believe in the Devil, nor a Christian or Islamic notion of Satan. Peter H. Gilmore describes its members as "skeptical atheists", embracing the Hebrew root of the word "Satan" as "adversary". The church views Satan as a positive archetype who represents pride, individualism, and enlightenment, and as a symbol of defiance against the Abrahamic faiths which LaVey criticized for what he saw as the suppression of humanity's natural instincts.

In both cases the groups are atheists and materialists who selected their particular names to annoy Christians and other religious people. In my view, if you don't believe in supernatural powers, you can't be a true Satanist.
