Deep Meditation...

Hi all, anybody out there have any good pointers on how to meditate?! My problem is clearing my mind of all of my day to day thoughts..Basically can't seem to turn it down...Is there something that I need to focus on to go deep into a trance like meditative state? Never meditated before and believe it will help me with stress and just being able to balance myself.. Thank you in advance..

Meditation for me is not about getting to some trance-like state, at least that is not what I use meditation for, I am fully aware and awake in meditation...If your goal or intent is to get into a trace-like state then I cannot help you with that...

For me, Meditation is recognizing who you were and have been and envisioning who you need to be, Who you Can be, to recognize those faults in one's self and strive to eliminate them, The meditation comes in when you realize the only thing holding you back was those faults.

When you recognize those faults, When you see those things that hold you back, you have already become enlightened.

Music helps a lot.
