I think most of us have had a similar journey. I believed Gene and tried to help him out. Over time it became more and more suspicious to me. Then when Chris O'Brien left I found the UFOtrail posts and this forum. Gene likes to pretend that there is a "hate" campaign against him what he never mentions is that those people who are trying to expose his actions are former listeners and donors who are trying to protect others. Just because we were conned doesn't mean others have to be. This kind of behaviour causes actual harm to people, diverts funds from real good causes, both directly and by making people more suspicious of them and also tarnishes the already ridicule prone image of the paranormal community.

I offen ask those who donate to give to the Alzheimer's foundation. only until you are touched by Alzheimer's can you know the horror of it. I offen wonder if Gene has stage one Alzheimer's. it would explain a lot.

This seems to be a lifelong pattern of behaviour. It is not an anomaly so I find that extremely unlikely as a cause for his behaviour. Also with the way AD progresses he wouldn't be able to keep the grifting up for long anyway. Even though Gene does it in a very lame and disorganised way it is still beyond the capability of someone with all but the very earliest stages of AD and those would not last 15 years without progression. I think if there is some kind of disease process at play it would be most likely in the form of a chemical or behavioural addiction.

Ok so as the covert mammal who listens to the Pananacast so that YOU don’t have to I must make a report. If you want to hear how C O’Brien won’t reply to Randy’s emails asking to have CO as a guest, listen to this one.
Mark Jackson is actually a very entertaining guest/speaker. Way more than J Randy.

You learn all sorts of things listening to the Paracast:

Gene rehashes how the ‘forum that shall not be named’ (I’m guessing it’s Alien Expanse) had been poaching members through PM. Lie- he says that members were trying to get people to LEAVE the Paracast forum. He also says while its not ‘wrong’, that it’s not ‘nice’.

Also Randall does landscaping (not joking-actual discussion in the episode..)
