Blessings of Imbolc upon thee!
As with all Old Tradition observances, this holiday is usually celebrated beginning at sundown on February 1 and continuing through the day of February 2. Imbolc means in the belly of the Mother because that is where seeds are beginning to stir as it is Spring.

Another name for this holiday is Oimelc, meaning milk of ewes since it is also the traditional lambing season in the old world. Herd animals have either given birth to the first offspring of the year or their wombs are swollen and the milk of life is flowing into their teats and udders. It is the time of Blessing of the seeds and consecration of agricultural tools. It marks the center point of the dark half of the year.

This holiday is especially sacred to the Celtic Fire Goddess, Brigit, patron of smithcraft, healing, midwifery, and poetry. It is the festival of the Maiden, for from this day to March 21st, it is her season to prepare for growth and renewal. The Maiden is honored, as the Bride, on this Sabbat. Straw Brideo'gas (corn dollies) are created from oat or wheat straw and placed in baskets with white flower bedding. Young girls then carry the Brideo'gas door to door, and gifts are bestowed upon the image from each household. Afterwards at the traditional feast, the older women make special acorn wands for the dollies to hold, and in the morning the ashes in the hearth are examined to see if the magic wands left marks as a good omen. Brighid's Crosses are fashioned from wheat stalks and exchanged as symbols of protection and prosperity in the coming year. Home hearth fires are put out and re-lit, and a besom is place by the front door to symbolize sweeping out the old and welcoming the new. Candles are lit and placed in each room of the house to honor the re-birth of the Sun.

A Covens High Priestess may wear a crown of lights (candles) to symbolize the return of the Goddess to her Maiden aspect, just as the Sun God has reached puberty. Brighid's snake emerges from the womb of the Earth Mother to test the weather, (the origin of Ground Hog Day), and in many places the first Crocus flowers began to spring forth from the frozen earth.

End old projects. Begin anew!
ever wonder about spring cleaning?
Imbolc tradition starts with cleaning one's home, as it is on this very special day that one can expect a visit from the Goddess of fertility and light, Brigid.
This ritual requires people to clean their houses physically well, but there's always a vacuum cleaner to expedite the process; nonetheless, this ritual must be taken seriously by all the members of the family.(My younger children look forward to this. As well as my husband who uses it as a motivation to do much needed repairs and upkeep!)
Next is Home smudging is another ritual observed by many, by burning spices like sage, salt, sweet grass (depending on your choice), etc., and letting the smoke waft around the house as you move. This ritual is practiced to purge the house from negative forces as well as to purify the place you live in to make it a haven. Besides I get many comments on how nice the house smells!
the next step is Sanctifying doors and window sills with holy water or anointing with Blessing Oil this is another important ritual many people do as a part of the spring cleaning ritual.

Next is The most important tradition of Imbolc is the making of a Brideog (pronounced as Bree-jog), which means a Brigid straw doll.
The making of the Brigid doll can be done by using corn husks, rushes, straw, or reeves, which are arranged to create an effigy of the Brigid doll.
The effigy is then wrapped in a white cloth as if it dressed and decorated with flowers, stones, and ribbons. The doll is then consecrated by a few drops of sacred water, the doll is then placed in her bed, which can also be furnished with a mattress, pillow, and a blanket along with a Priapic wand as a symbol of fertility and abundance.
There is so much more to this holy day. But if you only do the cleaning then you are on a good path for a great year!
OUT WITH THE OLD IN WITH THE NEW!
Blessed be

At Peace.
When it boils down to it, is a ritual nothing more than a tool to bring together a group to a unified thought and intention?

Depends on who you ask! From the point of view of a disinterested outside observer, I think that would be a very good explanation. It could also work for people who participate in the ritual for reasons other than bona fide religious belief. For example, the throngs of people who fill churches only for Christmas and Easter. These individuals attend church only as part of their participation in a public and social holiday. People who have invested all or at least a large part of their life into the religion will expect more of a return on their participation in an associated ritual. Some Christians have church participation at the core of their lives and attend every church event. Unlike the Christmas and Easter bunch, the church provides them a variety of needed things such as guidance in daily activities, a family group of their own choosing, and access to the supernatural.

Most the Native Americans families here in Oklahoma smudge their home by burning sage and Sanctifying doors and window sills with salt. I never have done it. But than again i never tied it to a Celtic ritual, and my ancestors (ogilvie clan)were from the highlands i believe

My answer to those who have tried to teach my daughter Hate intolerance and murder. That this world is not old.A creation of a God who in anger wiped everything out. That I and her sister are worthy of nothing but death. That because we don't believe as they do we are damned to eternal hell.
We have just as a right to bend knee to the Goddess as you do to Jesus. There is truth in your teachings. In the word of Allah In Buddha.
you don't hold a monopoly on faith. I don't claim to have all the answers.

Blessed be

d373052efdfb80f46f29543da1bda4b5.jpg its time for Ostara or Eostara ! celebrated on march 21st! this is a special time!
As spring reaches in midpoint, night and day becomes exactly equal with light on the increase. The young Sun celebrates a scared marriage with the young Maiden Goddess. It is a time for renewed and great fertility, new growth and newborn animals. The traditional foods which are fresh leafy green vegetables, Dairy foods, nuts and flower dishes and sprouts. The special activates are planting seeds and taking a long walk in nature.
We plan on planting trees. We will walk parks and remove litter and refuse. We plan to clean the beaches for the coming summer.
Corn beef and cabbage (A St. Patrick's day tradition) is welcome on this holy day. Our worship includes flower crowns and living plants to adorn our hair.
In the coming days I will tell the start of these traditions How Easter is a "Borrowed holliday"

Honouring the longest day of the year, Summer Solstice is a widely celebrated ritual where energies of the sun, fertility, bounty and abundance are in full force. The term solstice means ‘sun stands still,’ which is a reflection of how during the summer and winter solstices the sun appears unchanged in its position in the sky.

After a very long time, I suppose I do have some questions about Wicca, See my mom was into that, I know a little about witchcraft, But she never taught me anything about Wiccanisim beyond that it was originally a form of healing through herbs and spiritual meditation.

One question I have about it is, Is it a religion? Like, Is there worship? and things of that nature?

Like, What are the tenants of a Wiccan, Like, Among your peers, What kinds of things would a Wiccan do, in which others would take notice and say, That person is being a great Wiccan?

I tried to answer all your questions in my topic.
ABIDE by the RULE OF THREE.
the 1st Law ye must abide by:

I spoke often here of the Goddess, who she is how she is to be worshiped. I seen there has been to much talk of religion so let us go forth in a different direction. Go into the wood fill your heart with the life of the wood. Go to a tree see it, feel it, and know the tree like you is alive, the tree is a small part of the whole just as you are part of the same whole. This is WICCA at its core! Finding your part in life, Serving others. you are a tree in the forest of man. The Goddess is tolerant but out world will remove us if we are carless. unless we remove ourselves 1st
Blessed be

There are many ways and paths. We look for answers. Those answers are found within yourself.

An Observer of the revolutions of the moon and stars, focusing in a certain way and on certain objects over time will produce extraordinary results, to reach a state when nothing remains to veil from him, that is if heart of the Observer is kindled by divine love...Also, the moment in which a Traveler abandons the world to face the mysteries of a future state, if his heart is kindled with divine love, he too will also produce extraordinary results reaching that state where nothing is veiled from him...There is a river which flows through that certain place, its waters containing various forms of precious stones and seven steps leading to the highest place on the borders of this reality, a point of no return...

If you walk to far transcendence will happen. a time where we slip away from our crude shells of flesh. A long time ago in star wars Yoda spoke a truth. "Luminous beings are we and not this crude matter." You are close now I sense it.
Seek deep within the maze of the soul. There truly will you find not only your true self but also you will find the divine.
You are an exalted master.

As above so below!
This maxim appears to be a testament that there is a connection between all things and that man mirrors the worlds around him. The common interpretation is in the sense of the Microcosm and Macrocosm, that what effects the larger will be made manifest in the smaller, and vice versa. It seems to state that there is no dividing line between “what runs the universe” and “human beings.” We are God, and God is us, and the material world is an expression of the spiritual one.
what we draw from above is manifest below!

It there a way to see a person's so-called karma chart?
yes it is easy to read your karma. first let us look at the law of three
Three is a mystical and important number in most cultures and spiritual practices, including paganism and Wicca.
Although it’s not a law that is exclusive to Wicca. Ever mind the rule of three – what ye send out comes back to thee. Not only does an action – or the energy that you send out with that action – come back to haunt you. It comes back, magnified several times over. So if you did steal money from someone, chances are that you’ll lose much, much more in your lifetime – or even inflict the punishment on future generations. But there is another side to the Three-fold law – perhaps one that’s worth dwelling on more – it can also work to your favor! The more joy, love, kindness and compassion you put into the world, the more of it you’ll attract into your own life. This can come in many forms – new experiences, new friends, lovers, abundance, happiness etc. So if you’re struggling to make ends meet – start sharing some of what you already have (whether that’s your experience, kind words or love) with a joyous and open heart, to attract more of the same into your life.
So is good happening? is your life taking positive directions? Are the things you are doing impacting you in a good way?
and let us look at negative events. An illness let us say. In march my husband became ill. this flu spread and soon my whole family had it. I knew it was only a matter of time before I got it. But with each act each good thing I did to eliminate the negative effects the better the karma.
One more example is I sent some one a large some of money I sent it willing and with the best of intentions. But after I found out I was essentially robbed I became angry and bitter. I still feel negative today. I will receive no real karma for that.
If you live by the law of three even if you are not a WICCAN then you are insured a happy life one with the blessings of karma and your good works. Be a light to others!
Blessed Be
Rikki
