Once again, disaster is averted and Gene finds a reprieve.

Maybe easy for me to say, yet again, but if he wants to get into an apartment, really seems like he needs to make some tough choices - such as getting rid of the storage stuff, such as getting into more affordable temporary housing. Probably losing the car, unless it's actually net profitable for him to have it.

But as Jack Brewer said of Gene Steinberg recently, "His stories never make sense from a sane perspective."

Meanwhile the grifting / compulsive begging / very slow train wreck continues.

At last glance, Steinberg didn’t have money to pay for his storage a few weeks back. That was all BS of course. Now comes a reprieve until Feb. 22. To me that means he has enough cash for the next few days payments. This guy has told so many lies that he can’t get any begging story straight.

BTW, a quick glance at the Paracast shows the place is dead. Oh yes, Constance is still there ranting about consciousness to no one in particular.

As David Biedny once famously said : “don’t believe a single thing he says”. I’m sure the storage story is fake - in any event it was all only valued at some $1600 in his bankruptcy filing. How often does he drive for Uber - is it profitable to keep the car and all it’s inherent costs? Is any sensible landlord going to take the risk given his well established awful track record? What’s going on with “Anders” - never was so much “development time” spent to so little effect. Well he’s keeping us entertained, but for how much longer? His options are ever more limited - maybe he’ll finally accept some of sensible advice already relayed to him?

By definition his car is a net loss.

He is paying close to $700 per month for a car when he can't pay rent. Even if he really is driving for ride sharing services it is not economical because he can't pay for his accommodation (if we believe him) so he can't be making enough to justify it (I doubt he breaks even on it).

This just goes back to his skewed priorities. Most people would prioritise having a home first but not Schemey.

He ploughs more than a third of his Social Security income into a car he clearly doesn't need but we need to remember that this Schemey The Turdboy - if he wants a car he will damn well have a car whether it makes any sense or not.

Even if he was desperate for a car a few months of saved lease payments would buy him a reasonable and reliable used car outright but again that would make too much sense for Turdboy Griftberg.

He is like a Toddler who sees something and he must have it. Logic be damned.

I yet to get this..

I got it today...

Dear nivek,

So yesterday, the motel manager said he found a way to allow us to keep our room until at least February 22nd.

That’s encouraging, but it doesn’t make it any easier to pay for this place. And attempt to save enough money to move to an affordable apartment.

I’m also trying to put together enough money to pay some late bills. The storage facility, where our furniture is still boxed up, has to get high priority.

The webmaster/marketing person, who has invested many hours and his own resources on the project, is working on a brand new design for The Tech Night Owl Store and it should reopen with more merchandise by the weekend. Please check https://www.technightowl.store for updates.

In the meantime, I could really use some help today to keep going.

Thank you for reading and for your past support.

Peace,
Gene

The average car being used as transportation is more than 10 years old. Nobody, and I mean nobody, needs a new car. Someone who gets evicted often for not paying rent has no business driving anything new-ish. The people he spams for money are getting along fine driving five and ten year old cars. He is such a tool.

That was his car payment in, what, 2016 though. I believe the car is something he is clinging to irrationally, but it's possible his payment is lower now. I think. I'm assuming he was leasing the car that is in his bankruptcy filing, but not sure.

If he is indeed still paying almost $700 a month for a car, plus car insurance, plus gas and maintenance, while spending so much of his life just sitting around online... that's nuts. Entirely possible for him, sadly, but nuts. Considering he has said he can't drive for Uber / Lyft at night, it would seem he'd be better off with no car (as we've said before) and just avail himself of the bus, or Uber / Lyft when he needs to get somewhere.

I guess he figures he needs a nice new car to go out to dinner every night.

Well as an Uber / Lyft driver, it's basically his workplace. One of his workplaces. Kind of like his second office. He should write it off against his taxes. Wait, taxes? What?

Schemey doesn't do downsizing. If he has a different car now it will not be a cheaper one, it will be a more expensive one - but I'm sure he got a good deal. He probably only payed $800/month that he doesn't have instead of $900 that he doesn't have.

The straight fact is, he doesn't need a car at all. Having a job which when added to your tax free social security still leaves you unable to pay any of your bills and costs you money because you have to run and maintain a car means you need to change jobs.

He and Barbara get nearly $2K a month tax free for simply existing, their healthcare is all paid (according to him), add in a low paid regular job and they would have more than enough for two elderly people to survive comfortably. It's not rocket science as they say but it is too much to expect from him.

Anyway, I think I am again falling into the trap of trying to apply logic to what Turdboy says when there simply isn't any.

I think if you run the numbers, Uber and Lyft are low paying jobs in any event. Taxis cost more to ride in for lots of reasons, most of them good ones. I think you have to be smart and very industrious to make it pay more than some entry level job. I know some people manage that, but they are the exceptions. If you have nice car and you need to do something to raise cash, then the ride sharing thing might be the best option, but you are selling off part of car's value while doing it. If you don't own that value, well, that's probably not very smart. Anyway, I doubt very much that our spammer does much driving for pay. If any. Even if he is doing a lot of it, we know he's nether smart nor efficient about it, and he's paying a premium price for his precious ride.

more truth from UFO trail
An integral part of this sob story is our hapless protagonist Gene Steinberg, doesn't have the cash to meet the 11AM (Arizona time) rental deadline. With the dire implication being "on the street" is imminent. There he teeters on the brink of disaster. Tossed hither and fro on the seas of turmoil and misfortune.

For this to be true he must have nothing saved as a reserve towards the new cheaper apartment model of existence. For if he did have money set aside, saved for a new apartment then the 11AM deadline is no crisis at all. He can simply dip into this fund for todays rent. Oh to be sure this will of course delay that longed for passage into the safe harbor of a cheaper apartment.
But that's how a normal person would manage the situation.

Daily income to cover to motel, and groceries, any left over saved for the move, no matter how small the amount.
It might take a long time but progress would surely be made, even slowly.
Instead the pestermails suggest he has saved nothing, has no reserve and struggles with the daily burden of today's 11AM deadline.

If so his ship is sunk, the holes leaking water faster than his ability to bail.

That is of course if you believe his "story". Were it true he would have been on the street a long time ago.

No. his tale of woe cant be true, no one could toss heads so often. Teeter on the brink as long, without the statistically likely fall actually occurring.

Its a scam.

And therein lies the moral crime. Like his attempt to divert charity from hurricane victims to his own pockets, He seeks to divert money from your hard earned wages into his own pockets on false pretenses. The contrived daily crisis that is based on a lie.

The car - a Passant - that was listed during bankruptcy was purchased. He had $14,000+ equity and owed about the same. I have seen references to a Honda.

The earlier Kia was repossessed - with the debt to the car finance company discharged in bankruptcy. It would not surprise me if the Passant met the same fate.

But in any event I am sure that how Gene spends the money that he receives is none of our business.
