Gene Steinberg's Financial Shenanigans @ Paracast forums

He and Barbara get nearly $2K a month tax free for simply existing, their healthcare is all paid (according to him), add in a low paid regular job and they would have more than enough for two elderly people to survive comfortably. It's not rocket science as they say but it is too much to expect from him.

Using the bankruptcy figures Gene and Barbara would have to pay Medicare part B, and I have seen Gene refer to an advantage plan that cost as well.

I am surprised that he would not use any costs in his appeals, so like everything else it's hard to say.

That's why I was shocked to hear him telling someone in one of his interactions that he basically has zero medical costs (can't remember where I saw that though). I think it might have been because both he and Barbara are in very good health (hard to believe) for their ages and so don't have costs for the usual chronic conditions. He may reconsider though. A medical emergency and then a chronic illness could be a whole new crisis he could string along for years (if not forever). He may even use this post as inspiration when he reads it - I expect a writer's credit Gene.

It's all part of the daily struggle. I read this - and references to the chiropractic care - and assumed his payments would be a basis for future emails. But there is a definitely a story line one way or the other.

i think I’ll sing.
I see the mythical storage facility is back in the beggings. What wonders must reside in there.

-hockey sticks from his days at Harvatd
-extra copies of his book How to teach yourself the iMac. Still yours for only $27.56!!! and get a coupon for a free 5 piece chicken Mcnugets.
-towels from various motels
-boxes of thank you notes from past guests of the Paracast.
-Christopher O’Brien’s soul carefully locked away in a special box.

Stuff like that

The shadow

The shadow knows!
what I find interesting is Gene wrote
21 tech books and the 2 rocktoids books.
OK folks I know they are outdated but in the day Gene should have gotten some cash from them!
Also what's stopping Gene from writing a modern day tech book?
If it's good and informative would not such a book help solve his money woes?
Also think this way. in the time to write a beg mail Gene can write a page!
This venture would not meet with my scorn!

He was apparently pretty good at explaining how to use AOL to people like your crazy old aunt who couldn't even manage to get that dumbed-down alternate internet going on her computer. This enabled her to send out thousands of idiotic email forwards warning us that Bill Clinton was a drug lord, a certain brand of peanut butter would turn your insides to stone, cell phones would kill you, Proctor & Gamble was into devil worship, gay people were all child molesters, and on and on and on until she died. Thanks, Gene.

The guy who left his bank account information posted at Twitter for a month has no business trying to get a tech book published. Look at his store, which even he claims he had to farm out to get it running.

Those books were never (even in their heyday) big money makers from what I've heard. Nowadays there is zero market for them because the kind of information they contained is available for free online.

Also we need to note the fact that Gene got left behind and doesn't have a clue about modern things - even Twitter is too complicated for him so he couldn't write those guides even if he wanted to.

I think even Gene has realised that (which is odd given that has so little self awareness or common sense in other ways). It just isn't worth the effort to go about learning about these things (he is super lazy remember) and write a book that only a handful of grannies (who are dying out by the day) will buy.

Right. He had to farm out a template store that an average person could set up in 20 minutes to some guy who seems to be so mentally challenged that it took him 8 months plus to put up one item and it is still not complete.

Gene is not only useless himself but he has a particular talent for finding people who are as useless as he is and bringing them together.

It's like reverse Darwinism - Gene selects out the most useless people and traits and helps to bring them together - survival of the lamest.

He could write volumes on the Art of Begging

Well, maybe if he was any good at it. His usual cut and paste begmails contain contradictory facts, implausible situations and define normal everyday recurring bills as emergencies. And an explanation about how motels expect you to pay for each and every night you stay there.
