Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones arrested on drunk driving charge

alex-jones.jpg

Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones was arrested in Texas early Tuesday on charges of driving while intoxicated following a spat with his wife, authorities said.

Travis County Sheriff’s Deputies were responding to a disturbance at Jones’ house in Austin around 10:10 p.m. Monday, when they saw him going 45 mph in a 40 mph zone and stopped him, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by The Post.

“When I made contact with Jones I detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person,” the deputy wrote in the affidavit.

Jones, 46, claimed he and his wife got into an argument while eating dinner at a sushi restaurant, where he’d guzzled a bottle of sake, the court document states.

He then said he walked the three miles home from the restaurant, where the couple continued their tiff — prompting him to drive to another residence he owns downtown “to get away from his wife,” according to the affidavit.

Jones’ wife had told dispatchers that the pair got into a physical fight that later turned into a verbal argument.

She said Jones had booked it in a black Dodge Charger and was possibly drinking, the document states.

A sobriety test conducted on Jones found that he had a blood alcohol level of 0.076 at 11:55 p.m. and a level of 0.079 at 11:59 p.m. The legal blood alcohol limit for driving in Texas is 0.08.

However, drivers in the state can be charged with DWI if they’re considered impaired, even if they’re under the limit.

Jones’ eyes were described as watery and glassy with constricted pupils, while his demeanor was listed as excited, talkative, carefree and cooperative, in the documents.

The InfoWars founder was booked into the Travis County Jail around 12:37 a.m., according to Travis County sheriff’s office spokeswoman Kristen Dark.

He was released on $3,000 bond at around 4:11 a.m.

An article on Jones’ InfoWars website claimed he’d only been “drinking a small amount of sake at a Japanese restaurant” and got “caught up in a Travis Co. DWI dragnet.”

Jones is facing several lawsuits from families of children killed in the Sandy Hook massacre for pushing the theory that the mass shooting was a hoax.

A person convicted of perjury under federal law may face up to five years in prison and fines. The punishment for perjury under state law varies from state to state, but perjury is a felony and carries a possible prison sentence of at least one year, plus fines and probation. Alex is in real trouble. He most likely will get jail time for his antics. A victory for those who fight lies and outright untruths.

Alex Jones is not only a liar but very stupid to boot. When the subject of emails came up Jones stated he didn’t use email. The prosecution then produced many emails sent by Jones. Duh!

This is just the start and AJ is *****d. Blood's in the water and I say good. He's been shuffling money around - unlike Amber Heard he actually has the $$.

How that man can live with himself is beyond my understanding, as is listening to his tripe.

I guess we have more or less agreed to not having political debates on this forum
- But still let me say what has become somewhat obvious, especially in the last few years.

Those people who hate Liberals, such as Jones and many politicians we know, will do anything, tell any lie,
and violate any law to prevent Liberals {mostly Democrats} from gaining power in the US.
- to them Alex Jones and his conspiracies are true even when they are delusional and blatantly false.

As an ex-friend of mine stated to me last time we talked and I said to him knowing he was a Republican,
that the Republican Party would do better without DT - He agreed but then said he would still vote for
any Republican over a Democrat - I know longer see him as friend.

Unfortunately a big chunk of the voting public is this way - They want Alex Jones to keep fabricating history
and politics to suit the agenda. Think about that next time you vote.

Some right wing talk show pundits could at least be reasonable sometimes, such as the late Rush Limbaugh
- But others like Alex Jones and Michael Savage often sound like mad dogs it you have the stomach to
listen to them.

The problem isn't only with one side or particular group, it's people with an agenda and a platform, some media outlet. Everyone's got one these days, just like everybody has an ******e and is often used for the same purpose :)

Kind of how I look at some in the UFO interest field ........

Old story about Tip O'Neil being upset he couldn't go to Ronald Reagan's birthday party because it was felt 'it wouldn't look right'. Today partisan obnoxiousness is de rigueur.

As I see it jones transcends party. I know of no republican or Democrat to claim sandy hook was staged. He even did the fluoride in the water conspiracy. Jones is heads and tails beyond anything even rush said... 100% lies and untruths.

It's about the money first and anything else second. In Alex Jone's case he's a sociopath with numerous Rolexes and a desire for more Rolexes and possibly a neck.

I find that both sides have been reduced to just throwing as much shit against the wall as they can in the hopes that something will stick. And both sides will ride their own agenda locomotive as far as they can go with it because they just want their own way 100% of the time everybody else be damned. One side says that we are all going to burn up from global warming in the next few months, being born with white skin automatically makes you a wealthy and privileged bigot, and people are incapable of doing anything without government help. The other side says that all elections not won by a Republican are fixed, any amount of taxation is too much, and private industry is sinless and holy. Pick yer poison, you're going to die either way I guess...

Per se...I really don't have a problem with political discussions, and really, the only problems we've had with political threads are those from the outside reading the threads and joining the forum just to cause havoc and disrupt the discussion...That happened twice during the last presidential election...One person presenting himself to be far right stirring the pot and a far leftist who joined as a teenage Asian woman and presented himself that way although it was quickly found out he was a British male who doesn't tolerate the center or right of politics...Both of those people caused a great amount of animosity that did not need to happen and caused some rifts...So that's been my concerns, seen it before and expect it to happen again type of thing...I would suggest if anyone wants to start a political thread for the coming elections this year or in 2024 to use the members forum section but if you wish it to be accessed publicly then expect there may be people reading who doesn't like someone's opine and chime in to stir trouble...Sadly its become that way, too many extremists these days on both sides of the political spectrum...

I was thinking, there are reasonable people out there who like to debate political issues, sometimes just for arguments sake - It can be interesting.

Of course today, at least politically speaking, compromise has become difficult.
We can see that on major forums. Those on the Right will attack posters from the left and that really big major forum from the Left has a habit of barring people who side with the Right and probably has bought and paid for moderators - All the big forums can be accused of this.

This forum is not that large and I believe, especially with the Alien subject matter, caters to a more niche audience.

You remember the Trump thread was popular even though we had both extreme sides debating Trump the debate stayed reasonable - And sometimes quite interesting.

So why not start "The Alien Political Debate" section - Anything goes except no direct ad hominem attacks on
posters and no obscenities.

Debate just for the sake of debate may not be everyone's idea of fun - But then again us 'alien contactees'
need to keep testing paradigms of reality
