Simple steps you should do now to prepare non-believers
Imagine a large scale disaster -- or a significant volcano -- now imagine hundreds of thousands of people heading for stores in search of food and supplies.
Key items are likely to disappear from store shelves fast, making surviving the aftermath even more difficult.
If there's anyone you care about, who's ignoring your warnings and encouragement to meet the praises of the Philadelphia Church in Revelation 3:10, don't give up.
I ask all readers to consider putting together a package of essential survival items for anyone you're concerned about, which I think might be wise to consider doing now.
I don't know how far we are into the "birth pains" (earthquakes, storms, signs in the heavens, etc), but there are a lot more things going on in the news lately, that I think point to the Tribulation approaching a lot sooner than most people expect.
If you don't have the time or the budget to purchase that many items, here's a scaled-back list of what I feel are absolute essentials, that I hope you'll consider for those you care about:
Backpack
Two large water bottles (that can withstand long-term repeat use)
Compass
Road map
Trail map, with directions to the nearest major National Trail, and Canada (Canadian Wilderness).
Energy bars and oatmeal packets (they're light weight, don't take up much room in a backpack, and can easily provide nourishment for the first 5-7 days of disaster).
24 gauge wire, sold at any hardware store (IMPORTANT) (for setting up snares to catch small animals, like squirrels, rabbits, etc. I'm sure this sounds odd, but a good size roll of wire can be used on repeat occassions, to create multiple snares, and catch food in just about any survival situation. Please note that it isn't labeled "snare wire". It's simply sold as "wire" at most hardware stores, Lowes, Home Depot, etc).
Bowie Knife (IMPORTANT) (if a decent bowie knife is too much, then buy a less expensive pocket knife.)
Flint and Steel (IMPORTANT) -- very cheap, and is used to start fires without a match, even in wet conditions.
Weatherproof butane lighters -- A person should use a traditional lighter, and save the flint and steel for a survival situation (or vice versa).
Emergency Candle -- It is easy to get a campfire going using an emergency candle. (The emergency candle can be used over and over again. After the campfire lights, blow the candle out.)
Survival manual (a detailed book on survival explains a number of key topics, including how to create emergency shelter, create a fire, and TRAP small animals using SNARE WIRE, as well as find wild food.)
Small Bible (include for obvious reasons)
Grizzly Bear Pepper Spray (can be used on any animal or even humans, that are threatening harm). There's a passage in Revelation that appears to show that "beasts" of the earth will attack humans during the Tribulation (that's why I suggest high potent pepper spray; it wouldn't hurt to include it).
Any idea who powers volcanoes?
My guess is that God is doing it and I think we're just seeing the start of what's going to occur during the Time of Wrath (the Tribulation).
