We had a lot of lightning last night, a few storms in the area close by but no rain fell...Next weekend starts a real cool down, no more 80s or 90s temps forecast, highs in the mid to lower 70s and lows in the low 50s...At least three weeks of those temps are forecast to come soon, Yay!...

We got a little rain last night and this morning.

We might get a little tonight, I was going to do a bunch of yard work today but realizing the high temp today is close to 90 degrees and if I wait until next Saturday to do this outside work the forecast high for next Saturday is about 72 degrees, much better temperatures to work with vs 90 degrees temps...So I opted to wait a week lol...

Fall began with 3 bizarre weather events
Record snowfall, heat wave, Category 5 hurricane

The first few days of the season haven't felt much like fall at all for many across the United States. From snow storms to heat waves — hello? Did we miss something? What happened to mild temperatures and colorful leaves?

Here's a look at three wild weather events that marked the start of season.

Record-breaking snowfall in the Northwest

"This has never happened, ever," said Ray Greely, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Great Falls, Montana, about the September snowfall. The city got 9.7 inches of snow on September 28 — the highest one-day September snow amount in Great Falls history.

But that's not where the craziness ends. Even higher amounts fell in other areas in Montana: Browning got 4 feet, the Dupuyer area got 37 inches and the Heart Butte area got 34 inches.

History was made in Missoula, where the city broke its September snowfall record of 1.5 inches set in 1934.

Spokane, Washington, got in on the action. The 1.9 inches of snow on September 28 broke the monthly record for September, set in 1926, of 1.4 inches, according to the weather service.

And a heat wave in the South

"You would imagine its sometime in early September, maybe even in the latter portion of August, because temps [are] running 10 to 15 degrees above average," said CNN meteorologist Pedram Javaheri at the end of September, predicting that the summer heat would last into October.

He hasn't been wrong. Nashville reached 97 degrees on October 1, making it the warmest October day in the city's history.

And that's not all. Pensacola, Florida, reached a high of 96 degrees on the same day, shattering the record high temperature for the month of October. Indianapolis, Asheville, North Carolina and Charleston, West Virginia, were among the dozens of other cities that broke October heat records with temperatures in the 90s on the first day of the month.

These hot temperatures should be dissipating in the next few days across the country.

Plus, a Category 5 hurricane, not where you think it'd be

Yes, you read that right. Former Hurricane Lorenzo strengthened into a Category 5 storm on September 28, before weakening into a Category 3 the next day.

But its (brief) strength isn't the only thing that makes Lorenzo remarkable. It's the strongest hurricane recorded so far north and east in the Atlantic, according to the National Hurricane Center.

The storm has since headed to our neighbors across the pond, bringing wind and rain to Ireland and parts of the United Kingdom this week. Though the effects of the storm have largely died off, CNN meteorologist Haley Brink said it was a rare event for the UK to have a wind storm from a system that was a hurricane.

Its a bit chilly this evening, about 60 degrees right now, but its the wind making it feel colder, a steady10 to 15 mph wind that's starting to die down some as the sun gets lower...The low tonight is 52 degrees, still haven't put on a jacket yet but I do have a long sleeve shirt on lol...

at least where I live, no rain for 6 to 8 months in a row is normal.
where I am, 5 weeks even in the rainy season is not to odd...
do you need dry land farm optimization tips ?

We usually get at least one or two rains within a four week period in the autumn months, but this year we had a wetter summer and it appears a drier autumn...

Any tips would be awesome!...q37

Ah, I was looking at the forecast, It looks like tonight is the last night I'm going to be able to camp out in the back yard with my puppies. I know it's weird, But, Ever since Gitchie died I've been doing everything I can to make my other two as happy as possible. They have made it perfectly clear to me that they like the outside a whole lot, So I begin camping in the back yard with them. I may be the only person here who was enjoying the hot weather, I'm gonna miss it.

And Yes, I am probably one of those Crazy Dog people. I can't help it. I've had those little boogers for years. They are literally like kids. I've gotta let them camp outside, they just love it so much, And plus, Chino is Old, She is twelve and for a minpin that's getting on up there and she has her sick spells. There is no promise I will get to do this with them next year. So It's off to the back yard with my two pups and to Bluetooth some nostalgia critic.

It's been a crazy outdoor kind of summer for me. It's entirely possible I lost my mind completely when Gitchie Died.
Oh well, I never needed my sanity anyway, It was never top of the line sanity, to begin with.

Sp Out.

Sanity is weird, you either have it or you don't. Maybe they sell it on Amazon. w17
I've thought about it a lot and maybe this is just me doing mental gymnastics. But I've spent years apologizing for my shakey sanity, Recently, I realized, Sanity would be on kind of a spectrum. With normality being the center, the perceived average, But, I imagine, No one is literally perfectly riding that "Normal spot of the spectrum" Like for instance, The sanest most level headed person here, Well, Even that person wouldn't be exactly "perfectly" on the Normal part of the spectrum, Because everyone is different if even by just a little bit. So, Is Normal really normal? or is it just a perceived goal that people should aim for? Because I feel like maybe most of humanity really isn't perfectly on that Exact spot that medical science calls "Normal"
