Orbital motion of exoplanets

Something I thought I might never see, the orbital motion of planets around another star (HR8799, European Southern Observatory).

It was in a recent Sky at night (which also included images of exoplanet moons).

I am beginning to think that if life is out there, as represented by Trek and SG, that we should have seen far more evidence by now.

Cool. Considering that when I was a kid in grade school my notion of our Solar System - including Pluto - was formed by paper mache balls hung from the classroom ceiling by strings.

Didn't know what I was looking at so I found this:
