Kchoo III- Ages of Beginnings

At Peace.
So, I had a dream last night, and... welllll...
A new book has begun...

I wont share the details of the book here... just wanted to let ya'll know.

Also to log that today is the day it was officially started...

I have a solid outline and chapter themes. Good start.

It delves into the distant past, and Kchoo is not really in it nor referenced anywhere other than the title.

It will be fun writing this one!

I guess that would be a prequel.

Ok I start off with some inspiration from an Icelandic theme... which I feel is very appropriate to the way humans and animals coexist in a proper way...

To respect the animals, is to guard them by scaring off the bears... and bringing the cows closer to home in the evenings. A song of protection, and a song of well being, for the cows and for the neighbors.

Icelandic is a soft beautiful language, which I find very friendly and comforting. It would not surprise me if it is a natural language of longevity, and something of a higher existence we devolved from, but eventually evolve into, given enough time. A simpler existence from the past and a simpler existence of the future.

It is the little things that people enjoy the most...

Inviting a lonely neighbor for dinner on a holiday....

Helping another mend a picket or two on an old fence...

Waving at the neighbor... she is an artist... putting her artwork in the yard... materials of stainless steel and wood artwork, and now some new walkway winding between them...

Offering coffee and water to the guys who poured the new concrete walkway out front who now wait patiently in the cool air so they can finish the day's work after it sets....

A beautiful and confident woman stops talking to the workers, turns, takes a glance at the gentleman...

"Nope," he says, "You are beautiful and I love your art, but I don't know you... it is the little things that matter... How do you wake up in the morning? What kind of nervous habits do you have? Do you leave the shower curtain open, or do you leave it closed? Do you even have a shower curtain?"

She smiled. "We have history..."

He said, "Really, what lifetime? Still, it doesnt really matter... I would need to get to know you in this lifetime... each one is different, each of US, is different...."

She grinned and glanced at the ground and huffed a small laugh, replying thoughfully, "You have experience... I guess that explains my attraction..."

He smiled, held out a cup of coffee, "Last one... how do you like it?"

She sipped it, "With sugar usually, but this is nice..."

He nodded, "It is the only coffee I drink... it is so nice it doesn't need anything extra..."

She nodded, "I know... it is the little things that matter..."

A man looks up from the grid on his desk. A holographic image before him... suit, quaffed hair, and a lapel pin of a dignitary in public service. Glid wasn’t sure if he was being addressed by a constable , a mayor, or just a wanna be. He wasn’t even sure he registered the words prior to
“... and you are flagged as Delinquent. Your firm is 600 credits over due and 36 credits behind on interest. You have only 3 credits left on your grace period before I confiscate your skiffs, your badge, and your pass. I can offer you the option at this point If you want to save your reputation, but I don’t know if you have it in you...”

Glid wiggled his head affirmatively, “I will make my own option... you will have it all when we meet at Sunrise. ”

The Dignitary’s image faded after he leaned at the camera to create a more intimidating image , “See you at Sunrise.”

Glid tapped his desk, speaking to himself, “All I have to do is speak it into existence...” caressing the desk lightly with his palm, “Mulak, did you track the transmission?”

A strong male voice responded, “B. I. C. are on it.”

Glid, “Good. Do not underestimate him. He probably can detect you with a sniff the air... ”

Mulak laughed, and grunted, “Don’t worry, BIC always stay downwind. Coder already tapped the primary... Galan has your six.”

Glid, “Syncing primary...” Glid stood, and turned to the console behind him and pressed some glyphs, “Got it... Oh No! He has an old building with outdated Perimeter alarm... can only be deactivated when a fire alarm is activated ... and that will kick on the antiquated sprinkler system. I bet he is slippery when wet... hehe.”

Mulak, “I can see him in the window... he is running ... direct into... haha... he just slammed himself into the glass wall. I think the water got in his eyes... okay... He ran out, and Galan slipped right by him. BIC have the com.”

Glid, “I can almost see that in my head.... . I am already getting the download...

Coder, “ Holy Smokes! GET OUT IF THERE! “

Mulak, “ I see it... we can handle her... you focus on the A.T.A.”

Galan, “They have you, Glid... you get out of THERE,”

Glid, “No. The decoy is thier Target... You dont think my Six would be that easy to trace ?”

Mulak, “Galan, get out... he obviously doesn’t need you now... he is in...”

Galan, “I can buy you 30.”

Mulak, “Don’t be a hero, Galan! Oh... No... there he goes... Shit!”

Explosions outside Sunrise Complex could be heard through Glid’s console.

Glid, “What did he do?”

Mulak, “He HAD your six...His skiff just went by in a flurry of smoke., if he is in there he won’t be able to eject! Oh haha... I see a parachute.. Galan... you on com? “

Galan, “Yeah... Dignitary got caught in the action... his skiff was hit by his own guardian escorts...exploded on impact.. Did I buy you the time?”

Glid, “Download complete, and we did meet him at Sunrise, but I don’t think it went as he imagined... We have all the proof we need. ... Looks like the sun just set on ‘Sunrise.’

Mulak, “I bet he didn’t know he was working for them... he was probably an innocent stiff...”

Galan grunted, “Uhh Uhh.”, as his boots hit the ground, “There are no innocents here, only winners and loosers.”

The key to many doors is he power of sound.... should never be underestimated... it can change things... for the better... or for the worst... often the soft sounds have the most power...

It is not the fact that Daran had disagreed with being offered the choice for Genetic Normalization... he disagreed with the idea that everyone who accepted it, also accepted the cookie cutter life that was expected to be lived by that acceptance...

The upside was that poverty was a thing of the past... everyone had to become equal... completely equal in every way.

There were no competition sports... those gave way to team progress such that no individual was allowed to advance until everyone in their birthen was ready to progress. It was organised and monitored from birth. They all looked the same, moved the same, spoke the same, followed manners as prescibed in "The Art of Modern Peace", or "The Art of Modern War."

The books were the same... but one side of the planet carried one, and on the other side of The Mountain Ridge, those people and those books were the same, except for the title...

It was an endless game of equal war operations above the mountain range.... and the valleys on each side housed all the families...

All participated in shifts in war alternating with shifts of peace at home.

No battles or war machines were ever near civilized areas. So statistical peace endured with statistical war and no side would ever win, or lose...

Daran understood his dad's words... "People, have a need to fight, and people have a need for peace... This way, they would have both. A PERFECT balance under computerized monitoring... and family units would be comfortable and happy and satisfied in every way."

Daran pounded his fist on the window...
'Every way as long as they followed the guide books to fhe letter... and if they didn't it would be "altered" out of them. That was the part his dad didnt speak about!'

That was the part that Daran could not swallow...

He had a choice... accept the book... accept the DNA modifications, or catch the Destiny shuttle, never to return...

So Daran took one last look at the fading blue and green ball just before it disapeared into the hyperfog...

The Rar, had been left alone for centuries.
They communicated with sign language and so weren't considered to be advanced beings.

Bodies like an ape and so much hair on their head and face it was difficult to recognize one from another.

They were great hunters, and their coat was excellent camoflage in the rough countrty, but that made them pretty obvious in any other setting.

Their world was in danger though, and Gaveh understood that.

He had taken several baths, and tried to groom his unruly mane. Maybe he could show them that he is civilized if he could be presentable to them.

It wasn't easy to make his sign language translate, but thanks to Daran, he learned to adjust his movements so they would appear dignified and Daran was a good translator.

Gaveh wasn't nervous, but he knew this meeting with Daran's Council For Peace was the necessary beginning of change for his world and for the neighbors.

They did not yet know the simple beauty of his world and it's purposeful primitive culture.

It was his job to make them understand.

He would start by learning to understand them first...
Gaveh was applying to the School of Peace, and he knew he had to be a good student.

He would beguile them. He would either become the coolest "Man" on campus, or his world was in danger of being consumed.

He had to be on his feet the whole time, literally and and figuratively, and his back ached just thinking about it...

"Posture was everything " said Daran.

Gaveh hoped at some point he would be accepted enough to relax a little, but for now he would endure the pain...

Kal found the perfect flat.
The breeze always crossed her balcony and she could sit and watch the ships at Port Grace.

She was close enough that she could recognize faces on the gangplanks with her looking glasses, but recognized Daran by his movements and that typical dark suit he wore.

Darans mannerisms seemed other worldly to her. She found it refreshing.

The people on The Destiny Planets were usually a little more on the rebellious side, and enjoyed expressing it boldly... "fashion", If thats what you call it, was not really her thing.

She was dressed for practicality and comfort, but she fixed her hair and wore the necklace he had given her when she graduated.

Daran never acted like he was looking to bond with her, but no one else recieved a gift. It made her curious, so she was looking forward to their meeting...

Julia grabbed for an arm and got a handful of Ejay's jacket as she dropped into a low squat to offset his balance. As soon as she felt his core move, she spun her leg behind his knee. Ejay put both hands out in front to catch himself, but it wasn't fast enough. The pain of losing his wind as he hit the floor was instant. He was stunned, but instinct said to move and he put one hand on the ground to push the floor away to hop as high as he could, spinning mid air to face her... As soon as his feet touched, every ounce of him lunged at Julia as both fists impacted her ribs. He imagined his fists going through her body, but found himself falling forward again in the same instant as Julia thrust her hands down onto his wrists and jumped. She used the laws motion to counter, and Newton was not on his side...

Julia had leap frogged over him and then she turned to place put one foot gently between his shoulder blades, pinning him down. Ejay was out of breath, his strength was gone, and he not could take in a solid breath.
He thought of some moves he could make, but she had him... he couldn't move fast enough, so he slapped the floor three times with his hand to admit defeat.

Julia lifted her leg, and stomped her foot down beside his neck, "Your dead." Then headed to her locker.

She pulled out two chilled bottles and sat beside Ejay, waiting for him to recover, "If you had of landed that double punch, I would be a gonner."

Ejay sat up, and rubbed his chest, "Good counter... I saw it coming, but it was too late."

Julia, "I bet your chest will hurt for about six weeks, but you left me no choice- you could have killed me. "

Ejay, "Yeah, well... in that moment, I was convinced you were about to kill me..."

Julia pushed the bottle to her lips and smiled, "Cheers!"

Ófeigur pressed his palm against Skeid's forehead. Skeid appreciated the warmth of Ofeigur's palm and rubbed his forehead to and fro, as if to say hello.

"There are few men I trust, but you, my horse and friend, I will trust even beyond the grave."

Skeid switched to an up and down nod and a quiet neigh.

"There aren't many like us, hey Skeid? With all the truths men seek, there is none more pure than a horse-friend's approval. We hunt alone these weeks and our travels have been more joy than the whole of my life sum. If the vessels of sanctity would allow, I would stay on this journey to our final day, alas the gates of purgatory would be dee balance of that."

Ófeigur chuckled at the thought, "We might anyway... perhaps it would be better if we did not join the fights... "

Ofeigure leaned in to whisper in Skeid's ear, "En gætum við þá lundað með sjálfum okkur?"
(translation: But then could we live with our selves?)

Visra shifted onto four legs, propping two legs/arms on each side of her charts, "These planets are going to be easy to take... but that one between those two systems..."

Vokur shifted his stance to stand erect on all eight legs to try to look more authoritarian, "It will take time, but we must focus our best diplomacy first. We will enter their society and gain their trust and when our numbers are great enough we can demand equality and gain enough shares to afford our control....
Once we have that, we will easily lead the others to submission."

Visra, "You know if it even reaches Kreeser's desk, force will be the preferred strategy. He will want swift action and surprise. My guess is he will give you time for your strategy to weaken them and then he will throw you into the flares of Ogude."

Vokur, "Kreeser? That HALFMOLT?! He won't have any say in this. I will wrap him in the tendrils of Haendegh, and watch him beg for mercy if he tries that."

Visra stood on 7 legs and raised the eighth in a high salute.

Vokur, "Indeed."

Fratty and out of touch.
In Kchoo Experience you mention how they parked a space craft under water to hide it. There are a lot of stories about UFOs hanging around bodies of water. Sometimes I wonder if maybe air-breathing intelligent life is an extreme rarity. Maybe most higher life never left the ocean?

Just one of those "what if thoughts" I sometimes like to play with in my head.

I wonder what their thoughts are on the Corona Virus Covid 19 situation. Will they offer any help?

Message To the Aliens:
Earth could use a little help right now. Any chance you can throw us a bone here?

Gracie didn't like greens, but her Mom always put a 'small' portion of them on her dinner plate.
She could tolerate them if she took a bite of something else at the same time, and had mastered the art of matching one small dab of greens to each fork.

She didn't add salt, because it only enhanced the bitter after-taste. She always wanted to help cook and would ask if she could help with seasoning. She tried to
skip the salt, or added less if she had any control over that.

The kitchen table was in the corner next to two windows. She sat where she had a good view of the garden. In the daytime there was always something to see. Butterflies and squirrels were happy creatures... the hummer bees had little orange and black stripes on their tail that wrapped around the stems while loading up their leg sacks.

Her parents would sometimes close the curtains if
The bread of her peanut butter sandwich dried out...

She did like peanut butter, but she enjoyed watching out the window more.

Today, Mom closed them, saying the delay in finishing the sandwich had been long enough.

Now she sat at the table for dinner. And there wasn't anything to see through the dark windows...

She quietly ate her greens, and was looking forward to Dad returning. He always let her add the salt and tried to use as little as possible...

Dad would be comming back from the Ridge soon, and then they could all be together for a while before Mom would take her turn at Ridge Duty....

The hostess of 'Mugid's' guided Kal through a maze of tables, "Darran called saying he would arrive a bit late but insists that we take good care of you while you wait."

Darran had arranged for her to be seated on the portico at Table Twelve at one of the best dining establishments in Port Grace, and now she had a nice view of a garden area... two palm trees surounded by feather grass to her immediate left and a perfect view of the waterway.

The Waiter with white gloves opened a bottle of Grape Wine and poured in silence, as another server brought a cheese board.

Kal tasted the wine and gave a polite and silent nod of approval. Then held the glass close to her shoulder thoughtfully. She found herself wondering why he chose Magid's for thier meeting.
'Just a meeting... ' , she whispered it to herself, put the glass down and straightened...

Darran suddenly appeared, sat down across from her and poured himself some wine, tipped his glass, and picked up some some cheese. "Dig in... we have alot to talk about and it is better that we eat while we chat. You know, the School of Peace has been asked to provide some assistance in supporting the BIC raid on Sunrise, saying it was a peaceful mission that went sour. But I do not support Glid or trust him. I wanted to get your thoughts."

Kal sipped more wine, "Glid is an idealist, much like yourself, and I would guess he does not trust you. You need to stand against any insurgency and respect peace above Glid's maneuvers. MAYBE a majority supports him now, butI do not think he will keep that support beyond the election."

Darran chewed and swallowed, "I need you as my new chief of staff. I know you are young, and may feel inexperienced, but I saw you handle the protestors at Willey, and you are highly respected, 2nd in your class, only to Perkins... So I choose you. Perkins is to be my Secretary of State."

"It would be an honor. Perkins is perfect too. But this will not be easy. Can you handle being MY boss, because I dig in hard, find the right action to recommend, and I will expect you to listen to me, and I do not back down easy.,."

Darran put a datapad on the table in front if Kal, "Read these strategy charts, and make your recommendations now..."

He sat back and tossed a piece of fruit in his mouth, "We won't be friends... but we will make a great team, you and I..."

Gaveh stood before the class, and motioned his sign language as gracefully as he could. The ranslator sat in stage pit front of him, speaking into into the microphone.

" I do not spend alot of time on prayer rituals. I consider myself an open soul to all things good and peaceful, so in a way, prayer is a continuous part of existing without an alter or shrine or pose. Although I do believe in getting on my knees on occasion to humble myself before God, I often just look up and silently open my heart and soul to acknowledge.
My prayer is simple. Myy silent soul needs two words... Two words, just two words.

"Already and Always"

Thank you.

Gaveh bowed a graceful bow. And waved at his audience.

The class all stood up and cheered.

Daren stood up from the very back of the room and clapped his hands. "Welcome, Gaveh! Welcome, the Rar!"

The class responded in kind, "Welcome Gaveh! WELCOME the Rar!"
