The world shuts down: Map shows how a third of the global population - 3BILLION people - are now under coronavirus lockdown
Coronavirus has now hit every continent except Antarctica with cases reported in virtually every country, prompting governments to place a third of the world's population in lockdown. The map shows countries in red which have announced restrictions on the movements of all or most of their citizens around the clock to slow the spread of coronavirus. Those in amber have restricted citizens for only part of the day - such as evening curfews - or in only parts of the country. Countries in green have either light restrictions or no restrictions on movement, though may have enacted other measures such as border closures and international flight bans.
