How is The Coronavirus affecting your life?

After a few phone calls today I found out how testing is being performed in the area...Apparently if I want to be tested promptly I have to drive 30 minutes to a bigger city in a different county for a walk-in test...The county I live in has only one facility they use for testing however I must first see a doctor and also be showing symptoms, which is ridiculous, some people don't show symptoms but are contagious...They sort of make it sound like they have limited tests they can perform, the nurse I spoke to stated a couple times about wasting testing resources when I was questioning her and after she stated that a second time I asked her how can any test be a waste...The whole idea of testing is to find out who has it and who doesn't, meaning we are not only seeking positive results but also negative results through testing, with the hope of more negative results than positive ones...I then called the next biggest city and spoke to three more people in the medical field over the phone and they do have a drive thru testing place but first I must call a 800 number and give them all my personal information needed to get in their system, then they give me a one hour window of time to show up at the testing drive thru and they perform the test from my car...I haven't done so yet, I'm really not in the mood today to drive 30 minutes to a city that is 10 times more infected with covid-19 to find out if I have it or not...Maybe I'll set it up for tomorrow, like I mentioned last night I don't have any symptoms and honestly don't think I have it or have had it, but I would like to confirm that for peace of mind...

I've got a heavy cold and the aches right now and went through a phase of worry but then I thought oh well, if I have it I have it and help is a phone call away. Called off work and have medicated with lemsips and hot tea. I'm pretty sure I don't have it.

Still no ganga for a month now and I think the cycle is broken. Had a minor bit of trouble with not having unbroken sleep for the first week but that has passed and now my system is clean of it and that means i'm vice free.

we got good news. on June 5th after the lockdown ends training for the south side sluggers start. only family can go to games the season will go from June 19th to aug 28th. as coach Ericsson said "these boys want to play ball so let them play ball!

I'm on the fence whether that is good news or not because it seems too early to open things back up and allowing people to gather in crowds again...I think we are in for a second wave, if it doesn't happen we will be lucky because we are ceertainly setting the stage for it...

Awesome on the latter and get well soon on the former, for me a mild cold will sometimes linger on but a severe cold hits me then goes away in a short time, so hopefully your bout with it will be short lived...

I'm feeling rough as the proverbial fuck but my breathing, taste and smell are all good and the aches are gone after a lemsip.

Thanks nivek and yes the want to have a burn up is all but gone. A guy up the street who knocks it out has been delivering by drone, I've had it flown in before as a novelty and I could literally bell him and have it land in the doorway.

We have a meeting in 30 minutes to discussing this 'restructuring', if my pay is cut I'll be giving my resignation...I don't need this aggravation and stress and I'll be just fine if I give up this job...

...

We had another meeting today, just myself, the owner, and HR...Instead of cutting my pay he increased it by 40% and made it effective two weeks prior so I would see it on my deposit this week, I get paid bi-monthly...

So yeah next round of drinks on me!...q48

Nice to be appreciated and a worthy recipient of such credit.

Make mine a max strength lemsip or a chocolate milk please and thank you. Some good news at last and couldn't be for a nicer fella.

The closest big city to me has been spiking in covid-19 cases this week, doubling the number of infected in just a few days, that city is a 40 minute drive for me, but I won't be going there again anytime soon...I thought maybe testing was ramped up recently causing the infected numbers to spike, but that doesn't appear to be the case however I am wondering if reopening too fast is causing the jump of infections...

Not enjoying the return of loads of traffic in my town and really thought we try and clamp down on people in cars travelling down for the fun of it.

Lately the only inconvenience I've experienced because of this coronavirus is wearing a mask in public places...I still see empty items in the grocery, like toilet paper and rice for instance...The restaurants are still closed but it doesn't affect me, I don't eat out much...I'm starting to dislike wearing these masks, especially at work, I know it's necessary though so with 200 masks sitting in my office I will keep wearing one as will my engineers...

For those who have still have trouble tracking down toilet paper, my wife says that the dollar stores are fully stocked for the most part. Also, you might try Aldi if you have any in your area. It seems bizarre that people are still hoarding toilet paper.

The main items which I have noticed completely empty in the groceries around here are toilet paper, napkins, paper towels, rice of all sorts, regular coke in any size, deli meats, and tea bags...There may be others that I'm unaware of...I have these items at home, I eat rice regularly and recently bought one large bag of both long and short grain...Last weekend I saw both toilet paper and paper towels in a Walmart twenty miles from my house and bought enough to last a little while...Next week is a tea bag run lol...

Still be careful, Nivek. This virus has a way of fooling people. You think you feel better but within 48 hours, you are deathly ill again.
I swear I had this virus. Nobody believes me but, I thought I was going to die, I was so sick for 7 weeks. I also had every symptom listed. I was talking to a friend one day saying how bad I felt and then I remember contacting her the next day and saying I felt better. Only to wake up sick again the following day.

The shadow

The shadow knows!
Today the lock down ends. I return to work at the office. TBS saved several of our clients from bankruptcy including my wife's shop.
the twins will be working part time there to help Rikki get back on her feet.
Meanwhile the kids face a very different finals. the test will be emailed. As for our youngest daughter she is out of her shell thanks to virtual girl scout meetings.
And the city shut down any talk of little league baseball.
And so it goes

Wise move on their part, probably a little early for that...IMO

Rikki and I were about to pull the plug on it when it got shut down. And a very disappointed Ian was reminded that he has his Skateboarding wind surfing and his model of the Titanic to find things to do... Not to mention his chores
