...The Haunting [1963] ... I remember snuggling up on the settee with my sister to watch this on TV when we were only kids, of [about 7 and 8 or something] ... it scared the heck out of both of us lol. ... and still love it today. :D
... Which movie scared you the most when you were growing up?

Cheers.

Fratty and out of touch.
The only movie I can think of that really scared the bejesus out of me and gave me nightmares when I was little was Night of the Living Dead. For some reason, the fact that it was so cheap and low budget and the fact that it was in black and white made it much scarier. I know so many people who seem to universally agree with me about this.

Yeah, that's true and I would probably have been as scared as you were , if I had seen it earlier in life, but the truth is that the movie somehow escaped me when I was young enough to have been affected. And in fact I first saw the 'follow-up-movie' ..."Dawn of the Dead " [the one in the shopping mall] by which time I would have been in my mid-late teens and far too macho to be scared. lol.
... but have seen just about every Zombie film and TV-series since. [what can I say...it's a guilty-pleasure ]

Cheers Buddy.

I must have been nine or ten when I first saw this movie. It was on TV late one weekend and I watched it on my own. It scared the piss out of me. People were being sucked down into what looked like quicksand in the backyard!

I don't remember being scared by a movie as a kid. I do remember my older brother being so scared by the movie The Fly, that when that little fly with the human head started screaming, "Help me" my brother cleared the coffee table and landed in my moms lap. lol

He never watched another scary movie ever again.

I love scary movies I've seen them all. I especially love Zombie movies. :D

The only ones that got to me were the ones like, Michael Myers because he kept getting up. Those movies didn't come around until I was an adult.
