8,000 Years Ago, 17 Women Reproduced for Every One Man

Well, no.

Humans are dimorphic, like lions, or cattle. There is a pride/herd/harem with a single male/bull/leader.

8000 years ago, the powerful men had about 17 wives.

The other 16 men... well... they didn't get much.

This explains a lot of male and female behavior.

Sort of. By age 30-40 or some such the numbers are equal.

Normal mammal ratio is about 1.1, humans are roughly 1.07.

More female fetuses die naturally (in China and some other countries they have help). Presumably that is why women on average are more perfect than men.

Not forgetting of course most women live a lot longer than men. Many more widows than widowers.
