Well, no.

Humans are dimorphic, like lions, or cattle. There is a pride/herd/harem with a single male/bull/leader.

8000 years ago, the powerful men had about 17 wives.

The other 16 men... well... they didn't get much.

This explains a lot of male and female behavior.
