1. Ozone is almost always smelt by witnesses because UFO propulsion works on microwaves, and in turn microwaves turn air into plasma and plasma creates ozone. Actually, somebody else in this forum had seen UFO and smelt ozone.
2. "... 80 to over 100" ( I'm guessing you are talking Fahrenheit ). Again, UFO propulsion works on microwaves, and because our bodies contain large quantities of water, we feel the heat from induction. He was just being gently cooked alive

7. yeah, shimmering would only be visible if UFO was positioned between witness and some object behind the UFO. Maybe UFO never dropped bellow horizon, so there was a plain & uniform sky behind the UFO's outline, in which case it will be impossible to see any shimmering.
8. yeah, again, trouble with electronics happens in lots of UFO cases, because microwaves, static electricity, possibly strong magnetic fields etc. High school physics dictates that in order to produce these microwaves there must be a pulsating magnetic field, which in turn would induce strong currents in electronic and mess up the digital stuff.
Yeah, I know history of UFOs very well. That detail with owl is something that repeats in many UFO cases. But its hard to say purely from point of physics. It can be an ordinary owl, but it can be UFO drone disguised as owl. Because he said earlier that UFO left immediately, its likely that UFO noticed him ( he would glow like a torch on any thermal camera ), so its reasonable to say that after UFO left they dropped a drone to watch him. Purely from physics, it is possible to create holographic images in the air with lasers. There are companies demonstrating such holograms on trade shows, although always monochromatic. Now, the question to ask your friend is, can he
get hold of a magnetometer and
Geiger counter and go back to that location and scan the area where UFO was closest to the ground and plants. If UFO got close to the ground then what happens soil and plants get magnetised. I know it sounds crazy, how can organic matter get magnetised, but that's what was reported in a few cases where they checked with magnetometers. Probably because magnetic fields produced by UFO are off the charts strong and some residual magnetisation occurs even in normally non-magnetisable objects. He would need to make a grid with ropes and then take notes of all the readings on the grid.

Another suggestion would be that
he contacts MUFON or
at least fills the form on their site. He should include answers from both the first and this second set of questions, because they make very meaningful scientific picture. MUFON might send somebody with magnetometer, they should have this kind of stuff.
Re: your friend getting scarred that UFO will come back to pick him up. I would be s..t scarred too, because that happens very often. Its actually strange that that didn't happen. Good thing that he kept alert and had shown that he's ready to resist. In one Russian case they returned abductee only 10 years later.
