Donald Trump orders ‘full force’ troop deployment to Portland​

Donald Trump has ordered the deployment of US troops to “war ravaged” Portland, Oregon, authorising them to use of “full force, if necessary”. It is the fourth city where the US President has staged crackdown against “domestic terrorists”, without providing evidence after Los Angeles, Washington DC and Memphis.

“At the request of Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, I am directing Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, to provide all necessary Troops to protect War ravaged Portland, and any of our ICE Facilities under siege from attack by Antifa, and other domestic terrorists,” Trump alleged in a post on his Truth Social platform.

Portland’s mayor, Keith Wilson, did not immediately respond to a request for comment. In a press conference on Friday, Wilson said an apparent influx of federal officers did not come at the request of the city, and called it an overreach and a distraction. “I have not asked for - and do not need - federal intervention,” he said earlier this month.

On Thursday, Trump told reporters that “crazy people” were trying to burn buildings in Portland. “They’re professional agitators and anarchists,” he claimed.
The Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Portland has been targeted by protesters, sometimes leading to violent clashes in which some federal agents have been injured.

Trump has made crime a major focus of his administration even as violent crime rates have fallen in many US cities. His purges on LA and Washington has fuelled legal concerns and protests. Trump’s Saturday morning post does not specify whether he intends to activate national guard or regular military. Earlier this week, he also signed an order formally designating antifa as a domestic terrorist organisation.

Tim Waltz called out the National Guard to enforce covid quarantines. IIRC there were some right here in this forum (no longer here) who were wetting their pants wanting them deployed everywhere for this purpose, yet somehow when there actually is civil l unrest and violence against federal agents and facilities oh nooooooooooooooo, can't have that. What I find troubling is the lack of distinction between protecting property and enforcing will - even after it's come to light that a lot of that 'will' had less to do with a virus and more with control.

WASHINGTON — War Secretary Pete Hegseth harangued a near-unprecedented gathering of America’s top generals and admirals Tuesday, announcing that combat troops must meet “male-level” fitness levels, to face “life and death” situations. If women — and “weak men” — don’t meet those standards, “so be it,” Hegseth said in remarks at Marine Corps Base Quantico in Virginia.“Frankly, it’s tiring to look out at combat formations — and frankly any formations — and see fat troops,” he went on. “It’s unacceptable to see fat generals and admirals in the halls of the Pentagon, and leading all around the world.

“No more identity months, DEI offices, dudes in dresses, no more climate change worship, no more division, distraction or gender delusion, no more debris. I’ve said before and will say again, we are done with that s–t,” he said.

“Standards must be uniform, gender-neutral, and high. If not, they’re not standards. They’re just suggestions. Suggestions that get our sons and daughters killed.” Hegseth also charged that too many members of the military were promoted based on their identities, and not merit. “The era of politically correct, overly sensitive, don’t-hurt-anyone’s-feelings leadership ends right now at every level,” he said, inviting any brass who disagreed with his approach to “do the honorable thing and resign.”

Maxine Waters ADMITS Dems are shutting down government to fund healthcare for illegals​

Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters appeared to admit that her party was shutting down the government so that illegal migrants can have healthcare. In a fiery interview, the lawmaker from California lashed out as she was grilled over why her party was intent on blocking a Republican funding bill, which sparked a federal collapse at 12.01am on Wednesday.

She was asked, 'Are Democrats demanding healthcare for illegal aliens?' Waters replied: 'Democrats are demanding health care for everybody. We want to save lives. We want to make sure that health care is available to those who would die, but having the help of their government.' The clash grabbed the attention of President Trump, who called out Waters on his favorite platform.

'Maxine Waters admitted that she is demanding Healthcare for Illegal Aliens, and it’s going to be Top of the Line, taking American Taxpayers’ Healthcare away from them,' he said. Republicans supported a short-term measure to fund the government generally at current levels through November 21, but Democrats blocked it, insisting the measure address their concerns on health care.

They want to reverse the Medicaid cuts in President Donald Trump’s package of tax breaks and spending reductions from the summer and they want to extend tax credits that make health insurance premiums more affordable for millions of people who purchase through the marketplaces established by the Affordable Care Act.

I wasn't aware of the extent to which China rips off Western companies.

What's going on is that Western companies get attracted to the potential of selling established brands to 1.5 billion of Chinese consumers. In order to let them open factories Chinese government imposes requirements of knowledge and IP transfer, and then few years later, after domestic producers absorb this knowledge and grow enough that they can compete on world's market, China kicks out the original western company. Chinese are doing this to Russian companies as well, they ripped off Sukhoi fighter planes and jet engines.

No wonder Trump wanted to use tariffs against these Chinese practices.

The Hudson Valley Post is a high school level rag with local news, it's rare for them to run anything with a political bent and if they do it's to the Left. This was a surprise to see it there but absolutely no surprise that it's happening. I just sent in my annual NYS school taxes and I bet nobody here would want to trade for them.

Oh, and just for laughs our feckless photo-op governor is handing out $400 rebate checks to residents for no apparent purpose other than to purchase votes next year. This is why I hope Elise Stefanik cleans Hochul's clock.

The little-noticed New York program gives Medicaid coverage to elderly undocumented immigrants.

The program launched in 2024. Nearly 20,000 signed up within the first three months.
The medicaid expansion opens to program to low-income residents over 65 regardless of immigration status.
The programs help with state-funded coverage for physician visits, prescription drugs, hospital stays, home health, and nursing home.

The Empire Center reports that nearly half a million undocumented New Yorkers under 65 with household incomes below 138 percent of the federal poverty line are enrolled in Emergency Medicaid.

On top of that, another 25,000 residents over 65 qualify for the state-funded program.
A Health Department spokesperson tells the Albany-based think tank that covering these new enrollees costs the state about $230 million a year.

Others quickly pointed out to Vance that New York is funding the program entirely with state money, but Vance pushed back, arguing that federal funds indirectly free up state cash.
“When the [federal] government gives billions of dollars to New York for Medicaid, that frees up state money in New York that can then be spent on illegals,” Vance wrote.

NYC mayor candidate Zohran Mamdani in illegal donor scandal: Arab cash funnel​

Mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani has taken almost $13,000 in potentially illegal foreign donations to fund his campaign, according to the New York Post. The Democrat politician, who is leading the polls to become NYC's next mayor, has raked in donations from 170 people whose addresses are registered abroad, and so far, 88 have not been returned.

One donation comes from Mamdani's mother-in-law in Dubai, while $2,100 came from James Furlaud, an environmental scientist at Australia's University of Tasmania. Another $2,100 came from Dubai-based investor Ada Diaz Ahmed, and $250 from Jun-Dai Bates Kobashigawa, according to NYC Campaign Finance Board records seen by the Post.

Federal, state and city laws dictate that only US citizens or permanent legal residents are allowed to contribute to political campaigns. If a candidate receives an illegal foreign donation, they must return it, and anyone who violates this rule can face hefty fines and even prison time.

I'm watching DT address the Knesset on CNN of all things. They are actually carrying it which is a surprise. Typically DT is speaking in his sometimes difficult to watch shoot from the hip stream of consciousness style.

Compare to this. Old man hacking his way through a prepared statement that has absolutely zero credibility. The real message was "don't' pay any attention to him

Fact that D.T. didn't Nobel for Peace is proof that Nobel for Peace is highly politicised, and had been for many years.
