The shadow

"Pope Leo XIV chronicler Christopher Hale says he has confirmed that Trump’s Pentagon threatened to declare war on the Vatican.

“In January, behind closed doors at the Pentagon, Under Secretary of War for Policy Elbridge Colby summoned Cardinal Christophe Pierre — Pope Leo XIV’s then-ambassador to the United States — and delivered a lecture,” said Hale.

“America has the military power to do whatever it wants in the world,” Colby and his associates informed the cardinal. “The Catholic Church had better take its side.”

As the room temperature grew, Hale said he confirmed that one U.S. official “reached for a fourteenth-century weapon and invoked the Avignon Papacy, the period when the French Crown used military force to bend the bishop of Rome to its will.”

Hale said the report confirms that the Vatican had reason to decline the Trump-Vance White House’s invitation to host Pope Leo XIV for America’s 250th anniversary in 2026 two weeks after the confrontation.

Citing a Free Press report, a writer obtained accounts from Vatican and U.S. officials briefed on the Pentagon meeting. According to his sources, Colby’s team picked apart the pope’s January state-of-the-world address line by line and read it as a hostile message aimed directly at President Donald Trump. Hale said what “enraged them most” was Leo’s declaration that “a diplomacy that promotes dialogue and seeks consensus among all parties is being replaced by a diplomacy based on force.”

“The Pentagon read that sentence as a frontal challenge to the so-called ‘Donroe Doctrine’ — Trump’s update of Monroe, asserting unchallenged American dominion over the Western Hemisphere,” said Hale.

Hale said the cardinal sat through the lecture in silence, but added that “The Holy See has not, since that day, given an inch.”

The Trump administration's contentious relationship with the Catholic Church represents a significant departure from traditional Republican-Church alliances. While Trump secured substantial Catholic voter support in 2016 and 2024 by championing conservative social issues like abortion restrictions, his foreign policy approach and rhetoric have increasingly alienated Church leadership.

Pope Leo XIV has positioned himself as a moral counterweight to Trump's geopolitical aggression, consistently advocating for dialogue-based diplomacy over military intervention. This philosophical clash intensified during Trump's second term, particularly as his administration pursued more hawkish positions on Iran, trade relations, and immigration — issues where Church teaching emphasizes compassion, dialogue, and respect for human dignity.

The Vatican's traditionally neutral stance on secular governance has been tested by Trump's unilateral foreign policy decisions and inflammatory rhetoric. Church leaders have publicly questioned whether American military interventions align with Catholic doctrine on just war theory and the sanctity of human life. Additionally, Trump's administration's hardline immigration policies directly contradict papal messaging that emphasizes welcoming migrants and refugees.

The Pentagon's January confrontation with Cardinal Pierre signals an unprecedented willingness by Trump officials to pressure religious institutions into alignment with administration goals. This represents a potential inflection point: where diplomatic courtesy once governed state-Church relations, coercion may now be replacing negotiation. The Vatican's refusal to participate in the 250th anniversary celebration underscores that even America's most prominent religious institution will not compromise its moral authority for political expediency."

Look back at what the new Pope had been posting prior to his ascension and its obvious he hates Trump viscerally, he's got the TDS. I can see why as that account of the Pentagon meeting made my skin crawl, if it actually happened but yeah, he is using his position to comment on politics like the last one did. They are not neutral they just claim to be.

diplomacy that promotes dialogue and seeks consensus among all parties is being replaced by a diplomacy based on force
This got my attention and has nothing to do with the Church.

A US President has traditionally only had War and Diplomacy, two sides of the same coin, as options. Since WW2 he's had a third option which is covert operations meaning assassinations, regime changes etc. We're still living with the effects of that third policy decades after the events, Iran is an example of that.

What I think this conflict has demonstrated is that there is now a fourth option. Overwhelming precision military operations with nation building off the table. The third option has a jaded history with mixed results. I suppose we'll see if and how this works out. If successful then I'd say future presidents will have it at their disposal.

I would like to make clear something.
I want secure boarders. I want safe streets
I want fair trade that both sides enjoy. I fully believe that Biden was weak. Open boarders and run away inflation. A botched withdrawal from Afghanistan. At first trump did what I voted him to do. I like what he did. But something changed. His tone his statement.
The man who demanded a noble peace prize starting wars. Taking out a sitting president of a foreign country . Attacks Iran. Post a image of him as Jesus. I really appreciate what was going on before but it's clear his continued actions are insane.
I don't want a liberal president.i want a sane president

Illegal migrant 'cannibal' left to roam free by Biden after violent assault launches another savage attack and BITES toddler's face

An illegal migrant who was left to roam free by the Biden administration after committing a violent assault has launched another horrific attack. Atharva Vyas, 24, is accused of biting three-year-old Amelia Perez on the face at a public park in San Antonio, Texas on April 18. The Indian national charged at Amelia and her mother Gabriella Perez as they were exiting the restroom at Espada Park, according to a preliminary police report. He lunged at Perez, grabbed her hair and punched her in the jaw. The terrified mother pulled Amelia to the ground in an attempt to keep her out of harm's way but Vyas leapt on top of her.

'He tried poking at [her] eyes with his thumb,' Perez told KSAT. 'He hit me. He was a big man. I just remember laying there and looking for [Amelia] and I just see him on top trying to do the thumb.' He then turned cannibalistic, biting Amelia's face and pulling out her two front teeth in a horrific attack that Perez said was like something out of a 'zombie movie.' A group of bystanders rushed in to help and restrained Vyas, who was subsequently arrested by San Antonio police. Vyas has been charged with injury to a child with intent to cause bodily injury, assault causing bodily injury and illegal entry from a foreign nation, according to Bexar County court records.

'The attacker targeted both of us, and my daughter suffered severe injuries to her face,' Perez said in a GoFundMe campaign. She said that Amelia was hospitalized after the attack and, despite being released, has required 'constant care, comfort, and reassurance' ever since. The little girl is too afraid to return to daycare or be left in the care of anyone besides her parents, her mother said.

It's already starting. CNN must be pushing this line as we have a family member who was repeating it last night, plus we have an acquaintance that literally spends hours and hours each day online posting Trump hate and wild theories who must've been up all night at it.

It goes: his polling #s were so low he had to stage another fake assassination attempt. This wasn't real.

Oh fer ****s sake. Remember when he first started at the very early rallies? He said something about a heckler in the audience and that 'he'd pay the legal bills' if somebody did something about it and sure enough there was someone dimwitted enough to actually punch somebody as a result. That's a lesson about that 'bully pulpit' and that people are easily swayed and can be provoked to action. Typically at the time he was demonized about this (and he definitely is to blame in that instance) and the next thing we hear about is his 'silent dog whistle' and his 'private armies' of white supremacists.

We now know that all the racism and white supremacy was being directly funded by the people who claim to exist to combat it: Federal Grand Jury Charges Southern Poverty Law Center for Wire Fraud, False Statements, and Conspiracy to Commit Money Laundering. Lots of high profile people like George Clooney were dumping money into that who now have egg on their faces.

Many of the demonstrations we've seen, especially pro-Palestinian ones recently in NYC are professionally organized and have paid protesters. They come into being instantly well organized and funded. I guess this sheds some light on the fact that in the past ten years we are supposed to believe there's a racist behind every tree, we now see some of the not too well hidden hand behind it. Then we get into condoning political violence, the literal celebration of assassination and endless and shamefully reckless rhetoric that is the impetus behind this. Had it been toned down the two morons who got themselves killed in Minneapolis would still be alive - the blood isn't on ICE's hands it's squarely on the MSM and by extension, the DNC. I haven't noted any right wing violence at all, it comes exclusively from the left who simply denies it and blames the other side.

I'm waiting to find out this joker is trans or who helped him. I expect they'll go after gun legislation as a diversion.

This is very revealing of the mindset of the state leadership who can't seem to keep their hands to themselves. In Andrew Cuomo's case it was literal - he was feeling up his aides and a State Trooper on his protective detail. In Kathy Hochul's case she simply can't keep her hands out of my wallet.

In retirement I worked at an AutoZone for six months part time right at the time we had the massive surge of illegals. As I recall there was a family of four living in a snow plow box parked by some bushes in front of the store. When a customer comes in I was supposed to ask year, make and model of their car and you'd be surprised how many people consider that a test and they fail. Irritating. So, I usually just glanced out the window at their license plate and the AZ system would populate that info so I can go get their overpriced whatever.

I'd say 20% or more of their customer base speaks no English and pays only in cash - the plates in use do not match the vehicle. I'd see an F250, the plate says Honda Accord. Again and again. You can get plates anywhere - at swap meets, flea markets, garage sales.

This from a couple days ago and that was just the NJ pile, there were hundreds and hundreds more by state. I just bought some vintage ones off eBay - except I'll actually register them properly, there's a procedure for that.

New York Drivers Are Being Watched More By Police This Week

“Drivers who are using fake or altered license plates to avoid tolls or law enforcement are on notice — we do not take this crime lightly and you will be held accountable,” New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said. “This enforcement period is about safety and ensuring that those who are using our highways, bridges and tunnels are paying their fair share.

She thinks its about 'paying their fair share' and that has to be one of the most disingenuous, fatuous comments I've ever heard from the administration that has been handing out licenses and CDLs to illegals. I see them everywhere and I am not 'racially profiling' they just all fit the same pattern of occupant, vehicle type and behavior. I just increased my insurance coverage due to this.

What happens when they find out most of those are Juan? I'll tell you what - absolutely nothing.

New York has already driven a number of long established businesses out of state well before this 'democratic socialist' nonsense.

Miami and Nashville will benefit. NYC lost an estimated $6 Billion in investment and thousands of jobs as a direct result of this video.

I think its great - keep pushing as hard left as they possibly can.

Blue states have bled $2 trillion in wealth to red states in the last decade — and New York leads the pack
By Anthony Blair
Published May 7, 2026, 7:24 p.m. ET

It’s being called the biggest wealth transfer in history.
Nearly $2 trillion in economic growth has left blue states and headed for red states in the last decade, according to economic data from the Committee to Unleash Prosperity, a conservative economic group.
The group used IRS data from the years 2012 to 2023 to calculate the movement in cumulative income between states, which were classified as red “Trump states” or blue “Harris states” based on which way they voted in the 2024 Presidential Election.

That $2 trillion transfer is larger than the GDP of some countries.
NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani speaking at a podium.

New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani has led calls to “tax the rich.” Matthew McDermott for NY Post

New York had the biggest fall in cumulative adjusted gross income (AGI) — losing $660 billion between 2012 and 2023.

California came next with $503 billion in the same time period.

In contrast, Florida gained $1.3 trillion, and Texas gained $371 billion between 2012 and 2023.
It comes as billionaire bigwigs are beginning their Big Apple exodus as a result of Mayor Mamdani’s wealth-bashing agenda.

Hedge fund titan Ken Griffin and Marc Rowan both announced recently that they will move jobs out of New York in response to Mamdani’s calls to “tax the rich.”
Welcome to Florida sign on the side of a highway.

Florida has seen the biggest net gain in wealth of any state. Fotoluminate LLC – stock.adobe.com

Other traditionally deep-blue states to see a heavy net AGI loss include Illinois ($399 billion), New Jersey ($212 billion), Maryland ($120 billion), and Massachusetts ($118 billion).
Among the other red state winners at the expense of the blue states are South Carolina ($187 billion), Tennessee ($112 billion), and Idaho ($72.2 billion).
The figures point to a broader movement of wealth in the US from the traditional hubs of industry in the Northeast, the Rust Belt, and the Midwest, to sunnier states in the South and the Southwest.
Some rare success stories among the states that voted for Harris in 2024 include Colorado ($127 billion), Washington ($119 billion) and Oregon ($60.8 billion).

In contrast, the two biggest losers among the red states are Pennsylvania ($115 billion) and Ohio ($106 billion).
“Our analysis also shows that nearly every blue state has lost income due to moving vans and nearly every red state has been a winner,” Unleash Prosperity said in a release surrounding the data.

“So, as blue states lose taxpayers, what is their strategy? As many as 10 blue states are contemplating raising their income or wealth taxes,” the statement continued.
“It reminds us of the comedy routine of the Three Stooges on a rickety boat that is taking on water so they drill a hole in the bottom to get the water out.”

Virginia Democrats step on a $70M rake and now they're crying

Democrats nationwide are furious that the Virginia Supreme Court did its job this week and struck down the results of the Old Dominion’s blatantly illegal redistricting referendum, denying the party the 10-to-1 gerrymandered map it thought it had won.

But for all the outraged sturm und drang and cries of racism, the Left is offering no coherent legal argument as to why the decision was wrong. Instead, they are offering what sounds like a lot of slam poetry.

Take the reaction of Rep. Jaime Raskin, D-Md., to the decision: "Today, in an outrageous outburst of right-wing judicial activism…the Virginia Supreme Court has struck down the will of the voters. But democracy won’t end with right-wingers in black robes."

I think now is when we are supposed to snap our fingers and say, "Far out, man."

As to the actual legal efforts, they are so lax and lazy that the official appeal filed by Virginia Solicitor General’s office after the decision misspelled both the words, "Senator," opting for "Sentator," and better yet, "Virginia," appears as "Virgnia,"

They are not, I’m afraid, sending their best.

The crux of the case came down to timing, with the court ruling that Democrats rushed the referendum and did not allow a required intervening election between proposing a constitutional amendment and the voters deciding on it. Notably, Democrats don’t even deny that this is precisely what they did.

In retrospect, even with the narrow 4-3 decision, it now looks astonishing that Democrats spent $70 million and the lion’s share of new Democrat Gov. Abigail Spanberger's political capital on a campaign that won them the battle but lost them the war.

This disaster was avoidable for Democrats. Republicans even offered them an offramp prior to the vote, asking this same Supreme Court to rule before votes and money were potentially wasted. But the Democrats were desperate to proceed.

Now, some on the Left are gnashing their teeth, demanding to know why the court let the election happen, even though they were the ones who begged for it.

It is clear now, that Democrats, fresh off of big off-year election wins, thought they would win the referendum by a big enough margin that the court would be all but shamed into respecting the result. Had "Yes," won by the 12 points that Spanberger won by last year, that might have happened.

In fact, it is the very closeness of the eventual result, in which ‘Yes,’ edged ‘No,’ 51-49, that proves the Supreme Court was not just defending the law, but the voters as well.

In the final month of the election, as voters became more aware of what the redistricting actually did, that it gave bright blue Northern Virginia control of almost every seat, the polls tightened from what looked like an easy "Yes" win to a coin toss.

Of course, the whole point of the law requiring that amendments get an intervening election before being put to the voters is there to ensure that those voters have enough time and information to fully understand what they are voting on.

That was always going to be a problem for Democrats in this effort. It's why they never showed a picture of their new Frankenstein map, or mentioned that it gave 90% of the state’s seats to Democrats, even though 45% of the population is Republican.

They needed to slam this thing through as fast as possible, with as little discussion as possible by screaming bloody murder about racism, Jim Crow, and Texas gerrymandering, even though the people being disenfranchised in Virginia, or Virgnia, if you prefer, were mainly working class Whites.

The whole thrust of the $70 million "Yes" campaign was, "This is an emergency, Republicans are destroying democracy, we have to break the rules, but don’t worry it's just temporary."

Thankfully, the Virginia Supreme Court settled this matter on the basis of the law, not on the imaginary emergency of Donald Trump presiding in the Oval Office.

Democrats can complain all they want about the court’s decision being political. There is no evidence of that and fair courts cut both ways, as President Trump found out when the U.S. Supreme Court axed his tariffs, and many expect a further rebuke in the upcoming birthright citizenship decision.

Democrats are desperate to frame this as four unelected judges overturning the will of the people. Nothing could be further from the truth, because what they actually found, rightfully, was the people were given neither the time, nor the information needed to exercise that will under the law.

The Virginia Supreme Court didn’t just uphold the law in regard to constitutional amendments, it proved why those very laws are so vital. And there is not a single thing that the Democrats, who rolled the dice and lost, can do about it.

Should be interesting midterms.

I am truly an independent, I have and still would vote Democrat if they are saying something that I like. Lately that's only in local elections one ward councilman in particular. He showed up at my door, is a pleasant feller and he gave me a free pen. What else could a man ask for? On a state and national level I do not even recognize the Democratic party anymore. I'd like to hear sound policy proposals but instead it's all virtue signaling, opposition and pandering to those who deserve it least and printing money on a frightening scale to be handed away to the whole goddamned world.

Things tend to collapse under the weight of their own bullshit, I am wondering if the midterms will expose some of that. I hope so because this Left garbage will ruin us. Unfortunately the cynic in me believes it'll just be more BS.

California mayor admits to being spy for CHINA... and she looks different to her photoshopped images

The mayor of a wealthy Southern California city has resigned after admitting she secretly acted as an agent for the Chinese government, according to a federal plea agreement unsealed on Monday.

Former Arcadia Mayor Eileen Wang, 58, agreed to plead guilty to a felony charge of acting as an illegal foreign agent for the People's Republic of China and helping push pro-Beijing propaganda inside the US.

The crime carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in federal prison.

The stunning case prompted immediate fallout in Arcadia, where city officials confirmed Wang stepped down from both the City Council and the mayor's office on Monday.

Federal prosecutors allege Wang spent years working under the direction of Chinese government officials before rising into elected office in Los Angeles County.

They also claimed she used a Chinese-language news website to distribute propaganda favorable to Beijing while secretly coordinating with officials tied to the Chinese Communist Party.

Authorities have described the website as a fake news platform targeting Chinese Americans.

The case has also triggered intense scrutiny of Wang's carefully crafted public image.

Campaign photos and promotional images used during her political rise depicted Wang in heavily polished and retouched portraits that projected a glamorous and approachable persona to voters

MSM will characterize this in their typical fashion, meaning they'll demonize DT no matter what happens for any reason. Let the hair pulling and shrieking begin.............

China has apparently had their plans interfered with on a number of levels and on the heels of Venezuela and Iran and tariffs this should be an interesting sit down. Perhaps they will rely instead on their extensive investment solar development that we are supposed to be worried about . They have the resources to weather what Cuba does not - another interesting and quiet kettle of fish.
