attempt to please

That's exactly it when it comes to a lot of things - an attempt to please, to be popular in the right circles but not to actually do anything.

Goebbels had convenient demographics to hang blame on and so has the Democratic party these past few years. Playbook's the same if the look and feel are different. DT seems to be collapsing under the weight of his own bullshit. What happens when the monster has been slain and they might have to be proactive rather than reactive ?

Been sat here trying to think of another industry / position of authority where it pays to be behind the curve instead of cutting one, drawn a blank.

Pandering to who shouts loudest combined with fear of being pushed alone into the lime light back seats them all.

I have a new favourite, Mike Graham from talk TV who is the man for reality checkers, obviously has been called all the names the wokeists can muster but he cuts through. Lost a lot of respect for Trump me, he fooled me and now doesn't.

Ah thought of one. Nazi regime......Jeeeeesus Christ, maybe we just can't trust ourselves any longer.

Mm mm mm. ...just reading what I wrote above made zero sense lol, and if anyone made sense of it, you gotta problem.

I will, say in my defence that I'm different now in a big way, I care less about things I used to and have aquired a knack of making strangers feel like they've known me for years.

Hey PF I'm using your handle with my work mate because of your post about the " old recepe " so when I make a mistake my mate makes and ups mine and downplays his he gets a finger in the face along with " pig farmer ". Never going to let on even if his look becomes more puzzled than it is after a couple of days of it.

Lots of nazi sauce being liberally sprinkled around lately, myself included. A sign of the times we live in - not that there is a nazi problem other than the infestation in Ukraine that Russia is so thoughtfully trying - badly - to stomp out. I figure that's handled. No, it's the comparisons that seem so apt.

Cool ! Have at it. Strange to think that something that fell out of my head stuck to people in another part of the planet, right ?

REVEALED: Tweets deleted by Twitter at request of 'Biden team' DO appear to be photos of Hunter smoking crack from laptop - as pressure mounts on President to explain what he knew and when he knew it

Archived tweets appear to show staffers from Joe Biden's 2020 campaign urging Twitter executives to delete posts discussing his son Hunter 's abandoned laptop in the run up the 2020 election. The revelation came after company's new CEO, Elon Musk , published a slew of tweets containing leaked emails that showed senior staffers at the site had been acting on orders when it censored posts on the platform in October of 2020.

In one of these emails, sent ten days after The New York Post first broke the laptop story on October 14 of that year, staffers were asked to 'review' five accounts deemed problematic by what one executive referred to as 'the Biden team.' 'More to review from the Biden team,' that staffer's redacted correspondence read - garnering a reply hours later from another Twitter employee - one that assured the worker the task had been 'handled.'

That same day, another leaked email sent by staffers, flagged as 'an additional report from DNC,' included two more since-deleted tweets - one posted by a now-suspended account and another from actor James Woods, who in 2019 swore off the social media platform after claiming it removed a tweet he refused to delete.

The contents of the tweets - the majority of which were posted by accounts that have since been suspended - had been unconfirmed, until now.

Oh for sure yes, it happened at work and I made the quick comparison ( small beer in the scheme of things ) but there it was with genuine self justification on his part and for me I don't want to point it out any longer and for him he knows " pigfarmer " means I can't be arsed and has a personal element he can't make head nor tail of and doesn't want to ask because the answer will prove my point.

So good and a bud nipper hopefully.

Today it makes sense again, thought I had it arse about face but the other day I had it face about arse.

Trouble is with this nest is they will say and deny anything no matter how obvious it is. So many here want something they can feel pity for, my nearest and dearest included. I've tried to explain that Ukraine is so white and behind the times but it lowers their pity tank so the needle points to discomfort and they switch off and soak up the damage and death tole for a top up.

Unless there is drama for lunch and sorrow for supper they go to bed hungry.

They'll be disappointed then that the current estimates show the conflict moving at a much slower pace during the winter. Unless the godless commies really crack that nuke plant just for fun, or blow one of those dams they claim to have mined hopefully they'll settle down to a long winter's rest with visions of sugar plums and advanced weaponry in their heads.

Maybe the coming year will be ..... revealing ........and provide yet more drama on another front. This is like binge watching some series and you start to get really really really sick of it and bored and ready to move on and then wham ! Plot twist and you're hooked again.

Actually, 'farmer' is something a coworker used to call me. He moved 'up here' from NY city and everything 'up here' is the howling wilderness to him. My wife was the same way - to her every woodland creature out back is a beaver of some kind. Her family looks at me like I should be sitting on a bridge playing a banjo. He modified it to 'pigfarmer' when I bought my Harley years ago. See, you got a hawg you are a pigfarmer ............. that I kind of liked and hung on to. He's long gone and thank Yahweh nobody else has hung some stupid nickname on me since, but it makes for a great interwebbish handle.

Ah....origins are important I think, part of the journey in life, like place names for me, love the reasons why places are named and why people pick up tags.

My main one is" pubs " and is still used today from my schooling circle, I could pass in the bars as a legal ale supper at the ripe old age of 15 and stopped off on my way home for a few most days. School tie off and bag in the bush I'd light one up and order up like I'd had a tough day. Used to deal chewing gum and cigs i got in bulk from out the back ofthe coner shop, they were cool as long as I paid 50/50 , cash/canabis.

Only two pints and back home before anyone was home i'd change and head back up there to wait for the younger drinkers to show up, the canabis suppliers who kept the circle spinning.

Always ended up getting drink for my school mates from the off license and then nip it over the park and have a smoke up with them.

At the appropriate age we all spent our nights in that pub.

The good old Wheatsheaf.

I'm switched off to it now, push comes to shove the Reds will lie their way out of shame and defeat and claim a good result no matter what reality shows the rest of the world. The Blues would do the same in role reversal and vice versa, so they can all kiss my arse.

Same with all the Easts' natural born liars, it's a massive part of the culture clash issue, to me they aren't worth the time of day as far as national concerns go but in person with a no need to lie relationship I can put it to one side.

If you can't trust them what else is there.

The IRS coming for couches, TVs and wedding registries: Republicans put up fight against Biden rules that force Americans to fill out tax forms on all Venmo and PayPal transactions over $600

Republicans are crying foul after the IRS reminded Americans they will have to report their $600 transactions on Venmo and PayPal to the IRS. In a provision that the Biden administration claimed was to crack down on wealthy tax cheats, the American Rescue Plan required taxpayers add to their 1099-K 'gross payments for goods or services that exceed $600.' The IRS posted an explainer Tuesday reminding taxpayers the reporting threshold for 1099-K forms would be lowered from $20,000 to $600. It reduced the number of transactions that trigger receiving a form from 200 to 1. The change applies to payments on third-party processors, such as Venmo or Pay Pal, and is for transactions such as such as part-time work, side jobs or selling goods.

And that is why I quit paying attention to the news a long time ago.

I do watch it but switch off mentally with many topics involving another's plight. Have found a no nonsense alternative channel that focuses on playing down the dramatics.

And what would that be? Used to be NPR here, but the past decade they have plunged headlong into the liberal side.

I'm not saying I agree with this, but really surprised this didn't come about sooner. I believe that the untaxed economy is huge. There's no way that every single person not working is getting some kind of welfare, I don't see how even the most liberal application of all the aid programs could sustain that. Around here everybody knows somebody that has an off the books business doing home repairs, child care, car repairs, landscaping, flea marketing, and the like.
