CAPTAIN AMERICA/IRON MAN Comic Explores Their Complex Dynamic

Although Tony Stark and Steve Rogers have hung up their MCU hats (for now?), it’s far from the end for this pair. In November, the two are hitting comic book pages in Captain America/Iron Man.

Fans can soon enjoy Captain America and Iron Man in this “first-of-its-kind series.” The new five-issue run will star the pair in their very own team-up. Steve and Tony have, of course, worked together (and in opposition) many times before. But this run marks the first official team-up series for the two. An exciting turn of events for fans of their complicated relationship.

And Marvel promises that relationship will shine in Captain America/Iron Man, saying:

CAPTAIN AMERICA/IRON MAN will be a first-of-its-kind series, taking two of Marvel’s A-listers on an epic adventure that will explore the pair’s fascinating dynamic and history as they go up against a mysterious new threat from Hydra!
If there was ever a rich history to explore, it’s the one between Tony and Steve. Fans can also rest assured they will be in great hands with the creative team. Writer Derek Landy and artist Ángel Unzueta will be helming this series.

Landy shares:
Ever since the pandemic hit, I’ve been making my way through the old Marvel omnibuses, reading all the stories from the ’60s that I’d only heard about/absorbed through osmosis—with Steve Rogers and Tony Stark being uppermost on the reading pile. Little did I know that this was actually a prolonged bout of diligent and thorough research for which I should be roundly admired—nay lauded. The opportunity to write these characters is as daunting as it is thrilling, but with Ángel Unzueta on art duties, I’m reassured that it’ll at least LOOK gorgeous.
It sounds like Captain America/Iron Man will explore Cap and Tony’s history both in-universe and out. We’re excited to keep our eyes open for references and easter eggs from older comics.

Additionally, Unzueta offers:
For me, it’s a dream come true to draw Iron Man and Captain America. They are my two favorite characters in the Marvel Universe (in and out of costume). Working with Derek has been a GREAT pleasure. He is always enthusiastic about the artwork and encourages me to make changes as I see fit so it is really easy to work with him… There is a lot of things to say about the relationship of these two Marvel heroes and Derek shows in this miniseries his deep understanding of their dynamic and services it into a great and relevant story: An instant classic!
There’s no replacing true love when it comes to making characters leap off the page. And the mention of characters drawing characters out of uniform seems to hint at an exciting balance of action and character interaction.

Marvel leaves fans with this tease:
A government agent turned Hydra provocateur stages a daring breakout on her way to prison, attracting the attention of both Iron Man and Captain America. When Steve and Tony realize they both have a connection to the slippery fugitive, they team up to track her down—only to discover she’s not the only player on the board with big plans and sinister motives…
Captain America/Iron Man #1 is releasing on November 24. So mark your calendars and get ready for some teamwork…we hope!

Man of Steel - 9/10

Definitely the best Superman movie to date. Brilliant story, fantastic actors. Man of Steel is an absolute blast from start to finish and is true to the Superman lore in the DC comics. I was hoping Zack Snyder will release an extended cut but I'm happy with what we have.

Not only is Superman to become bisexual, they plan on keeping him that way. It won’t be like the death of Superman, where no one believed DC was offing their most iconic figure.
It all depends on whether the current climate and trend continue or not. If they do, then indeed bi-Superman will stick around. If they collapse, or even just lose DC enough money, then they will probably shelve this version.

In a different thread it was stated that the bi-Superman is not Clark Kent. If that turns out to be true, then even under a PC culture regime they may maintain two tracks; one with "old fogey" Superman, the other with "inclusive" Superman.

I agree to a point, I'm growing weary of this woke movement changing anything and everything to suit their warped view of life...Yes I said it, warped view, because life doesn't revolved around them, they need to find their own niche and stop forcing everything else to conform to them...

This bisexual Superman is an abomination...I don't care if people want bisexual or gay comic characters, develop their own and stop changing long term characters we all know are straight and who have been so for decades...Even if it's not Clark Kent, they're still using the name Superman...

'It isn't bold or brave': Superman actor Dean Cain slams decision to make the superhero bisexual as 'bandwagoning' - and calls for DC Comics to 'fight real injustice' like human trafficking and gay rights in Iran

Former Superman actor Dean Cain has accused DC Comics of 'bandwagoning' after the company revealed that the legendary superhero will come out as bisexual and begin a romance with a close male friend in an upcoming issue of the comic series.

Cain, 55, who played the superhero for four years in the hit 90s TV series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, slammed DC for hailing the move as a 'bold new direction' during an appearance on Tuesday's Fox & Friends - while calling for the company to focus its efforts on 'fighting real evil in the world'.

The actor pointed out that Superman is the latest in a long line of superhero characters to be given an LGBTQ+ plotline - which comes just two months after DC Comics announced that Batman sidekick Robin was also going to start dating a man.

'They said it's a bold new direction... I say they're bandwagoning,' Cain said in his on-air interview. 'Robin, of Batman and Robin, just came out as bi or gay recently and honestly who's really shocked about that one? I had some thoughts about that a long time ago.

'The new Captain America is gay, my daughter in [the CW series] Supergirl, where I payed the father, she was gay. 'So I don't think it's bold or brave or some crazy new direction. If they had done this 20 years ago, perhaps that would have been bold or brave.'

His comments come just one day after DC Comics revealed that its new Superman character Jonathan Kent, the 17-year-old son of Clark Kent and Lois Lane, is set to come out as bisexual and begin dating a refugee 'hacktivist' reporter in a November issue of Superman: Son of Kal-El.

I'd like to see another Justice League movie from Zack Snyder, it doesn't have to be 4 hours long though but he did set the stage for a follow-up film...

I only follow superheroes in TV and film. I never realized how whack job comics have become.

Either this trend will end, or comics will shrink so much as to become rare. I say this because I doubt the SJW-Comic Fan overlap is large enough to sustain a robust comics industry.
