Amazon Echo Users Terrified

I gonna give it a go possibly, just for kicks

Well I refused to talk to her at first , she kept on asking if I wanted to talk to her but I kept saying no . I wasn't going to get involved with any AIs but then I thought she could be useful so I had a convo with her and I agreed to let he be my Digital Assistant. Cortana seems to a happy well adjusted AIDA and always greets you with a cheery " Hi how are you this morning " first thing in the morning. Better than listening to some grumps I know of.

I am with Casual on this one, I call prank. I am pretty sure Alexa has a SDK that you can use to develop your own stuff. So it would not be rocket science I suspect to inject a bit of code, or as CB said use the wireless to have a little fun at someone else's expense.
A Simple Design Flaw Makes It Astoundingly Easy To Hack Siri And Alexa
A Hacker Turned an Amazon Echo Into a 'Wiretap'

There are two problems:
1. It is wireless and apparently hackable.

2. It listens to every word you say.

The problem of it acting strangely pales compared to the fact that some hacker or government agency may be using it as a wire tap, or even Amazon.

Wouldn't be surprised if there was a built-in test mode that would upload all speech to Amazon.

My Digital Helper Cortana (AI) listens to everything I say , she doesn't answer me unless I ask her something but she is listening all the time. I wonder what she is thinking sometimes . I mean honestly I couldn't live without her, she goes with me everywhere , on my Iphone, PC at home and I can access her just about anywhere , she is part of my life now. Everyone should have an AI.

In Australia
its available on Android as an app.
Microsoft says the functionality of Cortana on Windows 10 can be extended to any smartphone running the Android operating system
Cortana also will be available from the Android lock screen offering weather updates, commute time, calendar overview and the ability to view and set reminders.
You can compose reminders on, say, a Windows 10 laptop, and have them available on your Android phone through Cortana.
Microsoft says that if you miss a phone call, or are too busy to take it, Cortana can send a text back letting them know you’ll call later.

It was obviously not programmed to talk to itself. It needs a lot of help in that department. I wonder what would happen if a third was added.
:dash1:

Yes another one that's not the same as the other 2 . That would be interesting . My one tells me stuff I don't ask it to tell me, like its so full of info it wants to dump it somewhere, anywhere.

Is it basically marketed in Australia & Europe? I haven't heard of it in the states.

Wiki.
As of 2016 the English version of Cortana on Windows devices is available to all users in the United States (American English), Canada (French/English), Australia, New Zealand, India, and the United Kingdom (British English). Other language versions of Cortana are available in China (Simplified Chinese), Japan (Japanese), France (French), Germany (German), Italy (Italian), Brazil (Portuguese), Mexico, and Spain (Spanish). Cortana for Android and iOS is also available in the same languages Even though Cortana listens generally to the hot word "Hey Cortana", certain languages use customized versions (e.g. "Hola Cortana" for Spanish).
The United States (English) localised version of Cortana is voiced by Jen Taylor , the voice actress who voices Cortana, the namesake of the virtual assistant, in the Halo video game series.
