I read where after the Moon landings they said they would be on Mars in 30 so its a little behind schedule. Its amazing they went to the moon now all they have is a low orbit space station. Having to rely on the Russians to get the crews up there.

The US declared a war on poverty in the 60s.

We have more poor now than we did then.

By the time Johnsons war on poverty was enacted the US poverty rate had dropped to 15 percent. It hasn't changed much in 52 years but the population has almost doubled.

We are losing the war on poverty and after trillions spent we should negotiate a truce with the enemy and ask for terms of surrender. It is a war we can't afford.

Obama had instituted plans to go to Mars by 2030 which included returning to the moon. The US was going thru a major recession in the 1970s so returning to the moon wasn't financially prudent.

Yes your right I remember him saying that. I read where the population had lost interest in it all. Its hard to hold their interests with wars and social collapse going on. Hopefully this time they will go.
