Antisemitism.

Society is rightly sensitive in both language, speech and writing to ensure that nothing is said which might inadvertently be held to be racist. We seem to be sufficiently aware of how we might offend people of other races and nationalities that we take particular care in what we say and what we write to ensure that we are not engaging in anything that is racist. But, in recent years, the same care and concern has not been taken in relation to comments about Jews. That is why we are finding such a debate about what is or is not antisemitism. Racism and antisemitism are not separate things. From a definitional perspective they should be exactly the same. And yet we see signs that civil society, sport and political discourse is beginning to treat them separately. There is even a debate about how to define antisemitism, in a way that there is not a debate in relation to the definition of other forms of racism against other nationalities, religions and races.

Racism is tricky, It's a hard issue to really even discuss because racism firstly is an improper imbalanced thing.

Has anyone ever really noticed how racism seems to work? Apparently, no race on earth can be racist toward caucasian people, because it's simply not possible. IDK, I don't think about it much, Mostly because Racism, in general, is just a lack of education or understanding. or even blind hate, It serves little purpose.

That's not to say such things don't exist though, They do, But ultimately, Racism isn't the entirety of the human hate issue, people everywhere are fighting, It's almost like the entire world is already in some sort of massive world war or something, It's insane.

If I were a Jewish I would feel a great injustice as racism is not tolerated but it seems they suffer in a pigeon hole all of their own. The very people who suffered the furthest right wing behaviour ever witnessed.

If I didn't know of what occurs throughout the world I wouldn't care. A lost state of bliss that has created a false sense of responsibility among the ignorant.

I think Muslims are going to suffer the same pigeon.

I can see why people have political points of view, They have studied it, They know what's going on. My thing is, When I look at world politics, All I see is hate and fighting, So, I'm pretty ill-informed as I tend to avoid most all of it.

Absolutely right and well said. Everybody gets a free kick at the Jews. My wife is Jewish and the shit we've heard that comes out of people's mouth is unbelievable. "Hook-nosed Jew" and "gonna get me one of those nasty Jew lawyers..." and so forth. It would get you pilloried in the town square if directed elsewhere. She just laughs it off and never says a word. You can't really, just makes it worse.

She wears her hair to cover up the horns so most people don't notice.

The height of hypocrisy is a selective prejudice amid a war on racism. I think of them as the forsaken.

If not for the Jewish, England would have been far less powerful. Borrowing and borrowing until the debt was worth the very first recorded holocaust.

My personal thoughts stem from a fear of an ability to create great wealth, successful being shot down by envy.

People as individuals are generally nice to know.People in groups,religiously,politically,ethnically can be arseholes.Our intelligence and ingenuity have evolved quicker than our empathy and tolerance which makes us dangerous to be around.

Thank you for that post because it got me thinking about an old thought I had running through my head. I believe it was a couple of years ago and I had seen a couple of posts (can't remember where) about even if your a big Twitter/Facebook user there would be an ultimate (?) number of followers you should have otherwise it gets kind of problematic.

Same thing here , it seems if you wanted to start a group (for anything) how many people could you absorb before you get cliques and such that can ultimately ruin the group. The more people get involved the more problems you have with personalities clashing.

Agreed. Look at the thread 'was I an asshole on Twitter?'. As individuals we have few problems with each other. As a group it's a different story
