Apple tree

There's a 150 year old Apple tree on my property about 100 feet from my house and whilst I was walking nearby this tree with my dog, the apple tree whispered to me...Out of curiosity I then promptly called my dog quietly and proceeded to go on the back deck and watch...

It wasn't long and from the forest behind my house two guinea fowl come prancing out making their unique clucking sounds, which my dog quickly set his eyes upon them...Mere seconds went by after these two guineas to the moment my dog leapt from the top stair of the wooden deck and bolted off after those two fowl...

My Australian Shepherd has never seen a guinea before and seeing him coming they started running across the meadow which is full of daisys, two guineas running full speed with an Australian Shepherd gaining on them...When he got close to the slower guinea he suddenly slowed down to smell it lol, matching speed and sticking his nose out to smell it...

A second later that guinea took off in flight and the other followed with my dog taking a leap at them but it was a little too late...Well, he knows what a guinea is now and I think next time he runs into one of them he may try to catch it instead of just smell it lol...

Are you still having problems with coyotes?

Not at all, but we did have a bobcat, a big one come around and hang around the area for about 6 days straight...I set up a cage to trap it without harming it but foxes kept taking the bait at night lol...

I was out hiking with my dog in the deeper forests a few miles northwest of my home yesterday and from where I parked my car at the outer edges near a lake we must have hiked 30 minutes and I sensed something was approaching us...Then overwhelmingly I sensed many things were coming up closer to us, we were hiking on a path from hunters or other people and I saw a couple short animals running by to my left very fast then heard the snorting...

There was a small group of wild hogs and we were in their path it seemed like and I quickly leashed my dog and made a 180 back towards the car...I don't own guns so I had no guns and didn't bring a knife, we walked fast paced and distanced ourselves away...At first my dog wanted to investigate and chase them but I think he picked up on my nervousness and worry and followed my lead away...

I think these animals are more dangerous and unpredictable than coyotes...

I didn't see any tusks but I didn't stick around long enough to get a look at them all...lol

I use to have a reoccurring dream that lasted till i was around 10, it involved a wild boar chasing me threw a thicket of woods to a open pasture and right as i got to the edge of the woods there was a barbed wired fence that separated it from the open pasture ,i got hung up in it and the boar got me.
