Asteroid 2012TC4 which is roughly 60-70 feet in diameter will buzz by the Earth on 10/12/17. NASA's probability of striking the planet is 1 in 600. They're planning to run doomsday exercises on the same day. Where have we heard that scenario before?

The object that exploded over Russia a couple of years ago had an small craft orbiting it possibly inducing its destruction. The article stressed how dense the asteroid is saying it's denser than granite, but didn't go as far as saying it's iron. They felt confident enough to write it would penetrate the Earth's crust. That sounds like the fear mongering they use with North Korea's missiles.

They may not know exactly what the composition of the asteroid is, a diamond core would be disastrous if it was large enough too...

Fratty and out of touch.
I still think it's the ones we don't see that we have to worry about.

At Peace.
That is a close shave...

Supposed to return in 12 years...

This is just one of many...
If you look at the moon through a telescope, you can see some huge craters... heck the man on the moon is visible with the naked eye... the Sea of Tranquility.... Massive! Flooded with lava... cooled and hardened, filled up the giant crater...

Earth has several big craters detectable from space instruments.

No question about it, Earth will be hit again... the only remaining question is When?
