Russia accused of hacking into US aviation system as part of broad assault on American infrastructure

Russian hackers are accused of penetrating the US aviation system as part of a broad assault by the country on American’s infrastructure.

The Aviation Information Sharing and Analysis Center said in a report Friday that the cyber attack happened in early 2017 but had limited impact, Bloomberg reports. The aviation industry has, however, taken steps to prevent it from happening again. ‘It hit a part of our very broad membership,’ executive director Jeff Troy said in a statement, without elaborating on the nature of the breach.

Russia is hacking US energy grid, nuclear facilities and aviation systems says Trump administration - and cyber war has been going on for two years

The Trump administration has blamed the Russian government for a campaign of cyber attacks stretching back at least two years that targeted the US power grid.

It marks the first time the US has publicly accused Moscow of hacking into American energy infrastructure.

Beginning in March 2016, or possibly earlier, Russian government hackers attacked multiple critical infrastructure sectors, according to a US security alert.

These sectors included energy, nuclear, commercial facilities, water, aviation and manufacturing, the report, published Thursday, said.

The Department of Homeland Security and FBI said in the alert that a 'multi-stage intrusion campaign by Russian government cyber actors' had targeted the networks of small commercial facilities 'where they staged malware, conducted spear phishing, and gained remote access into energy sector networks.'

The alert did not name facilities or companies targeted.

The US Treasury Department's has decided to impose sanctions on 19 Russian people and five groups, including Moscow's intelligence services, for meddling in the 2016 US presidential election and other malicious cyber attacks.

Poland is very much a strong US ally, which we have been supplying them with a generous amount of military hardware and support to counter Russian aggression...

I wouldnt object if U.S sent some this way.. Our military has gone all wacko, and disarmed itself into something that nowadays look like boy scouts,,, he..

Thats the best thing. No matter how pitch black reality seems. Theres always a faint light of hope somewhere to be seen.
