I suppose it is all relative and those smart enough to control it and moderate it are fine.

I wouldn't want to live with any kind of addict, or a group of them as they seem so completely lost that they become a walking chemical reaction more than a person.

I appreciate your reply and your perspective. I think you are right in the perspective of at least pot smokers are likely more relaxed and friendly... drunks seen to be freakish in a Dr. Hide sort of way.

I do not have any respect for someone that drinks to get bombed, or gets high to the point they do not know what they are doing... so I guess it is the personalities that I really have issue with more than the drugs.

I attempted to overdose by smoking a huge doob of high grade.

It was a real task to get it done but I did a two foot, two ouncer before the colour drained from my face and the honking began.

I did once eat a cake so green
The likes of which I'm sure you've not seen
Made by a lady who warned me of strength
Pfff I said please just cut me a length

Off to my table with tea and cake
I sat and chomped through my long green bake
My friend was there he had one too
When we left it felt like walking in goo.

    Amsterdam.

I was going to debate your use of personalities vs disease (Darned if I could remember how to spell disease. I had to look it up. lol) but then I remembered something I heard my dad say when I was a child.... "If you take away the alcohol from a drunken horse thief. You still have a horse thief." That stuck with me for life.

So yes, I agree, personality has a lot to do with it. :)

I don't know if people know this story, I told it back in the Day at AH. My best friend Overdosed and Died, He was at my home one night, I had seen him really wasted before, But this was different, He was acting weird, He tried stealing things from me, Which at that moment it pissed me off, But there was something else, It was like his mind was gone, He was acting not like a theif, But like a michivious kid. Like he had regressed. I just thgoutht he was really high on something. I took him and his girlfriend to their house, So I could have some much needed peace from babysitting them, He went to sleep and never woke up.

I don't do the things he does, I will drink a little and smoke a little pot. But he was bad off on snorting pills. I had seen him really high countless times, But this one was different. I didn't know he was overdosed and dying, I couldn't regocnize the danger from a normal high.

No one in his family called me to tell me he was on life support, Not just life support, he was brain dead, they had him cut open with ice packed into him to keep his organs alive, He was gone, as dead as it gets only the machines were turned on, It was a nightmare to see.

Over the years he had snorted so much and harmed his sinus lingins so badly he had caused infection in his brain and it had actually literally melted the right side of his brain.

I never speak about this, It's still hard to think about.

The idea of incorporating the munchies and a nice buzz all at once is great but the timing is a bit off. I had some banana bread once that was made with butter loaded with THC. Can't say I really cared for it much, made me a little queasy.

Yeah, that brownie was difficult to eat because it tasted terrible. But, I kinda like the fact that it turned me off because I didn't get the usual munchies so, I think that may be why the effect lasted so much longer than usual? 6 hours is a pretty long time. :)

Kinda tricky in the pipe, but nice. I’ve had it before..I might try wax ( because of the pipe) when I’m done with this.

Massachusetts marijuana stores to open Tuesday

    aDnE5U0C.jpg

The wait will soon be over.

On Tuesday morning, the first recreational marijuana stores in the Eastern United States will open in Massachusetts, kicking off an era of legal cannabis sales after more than a century of pot prohibition in the state.

The state Cannabis Control Commission made the historic announcement at 4:20 p.m. Friday, saying in a press release that it had issued “commence full operations” notices to Cultivate and New England Treatment Access, or NETA, which are marijuana retailers in Leicester and Northampton, respectively. The notices indicate that the firms, both of which operate as medical marijuana dispensaries, passed exhaustive inspections by state workers checking for compliance with a lengthy list of rules.

“This signal to open retail marijuana establishments marks a major milestone for voters who approved legal, adult-use cannabis in our state,” commission chairman Steven J. Hoffman said.

He noted that the companies “underwent thorough background checks, passed multiple inspections, and had their products tested, all to ensure public health and safety as this new industry gets up and running.’’

NETA’s shop is expected to open Tuesday at 8 a.m.Cultivate will also openat 8 a.m. on Tuesday for recreational sales. The dispensary’s regular hours for its medical marijuana business begin at 10 a.m.

“Cultivate is honored that we will be making history Tuesday by selling the first legal recreational cannabis in Massachusetts, New England and east of the Mississippi,” Sam Barber, the company’s founder, said in a statement. “We have created dozens of jobs and look forward to creating revenue and contributing positively to [the] state and local region in which we operate.”

“We will be thrilled to be part of this milestone for Massachusetts when NETA Northampton opens its doors to adults 21-years and older offering legal, safe, regulated cannabis,” NETA’s director of government affairs, Norton Arbelaez, said in a statement.

Massachusetts first made marijuana illegal in 1911 — and it stayed that way until 2016, when 1.8 million voters said “yes” to a ballot measure legalizing the drug for adults older than 21 and establishing a system of regulated sales.
