They say there is a 1 in a trillion chance of being hit by the Chinese Space Station. So there is a chance then .

They should really give the formula they used to determine that. It'll break-up into pieces increasing the odds.

Well all I know is that Australia copped it once when Skylab landed . I think Tasmania is to low down in orbital declination for us to worry about that tin can way down here.

If our flaming space station is about to hit YOUR country on Easter Sunday we'll let you know 'promptly', says China as it admits it STILL can't predict where it will land

In an attempt to reassure the world, the Chinese government says it will 'promptly be in touch' if Tiangong-1 looks set to hit a nation.

But any warning may be too late, as the nation admits it still has no idea where it will land.

The bus-sized space station, weighing 8.5-tons, is predicted to reenter Earth's atmosphere at 3pm BST (10am ET) on April 1, according to the latest estimates.

It could crash into a number of highly populated areas, including New York, Barcelona, Beijing, Chicago, Istanbul, Rome and Toronto.

What gets me is that the Chinese want their space junk back after it possibly lands in a populated area. Who are they kidding.

BREAKING NEWS: Chinese space station smashes to Earth at 17,000mph off the coast of Tahiti: Nine-ton installation the size of a school bus comes crashing into the atmosphere in a huge fireball and just misses tropical paradise
  • The defunct Chinese space station Tiangong-1 re-entered the atmosphere over the South Pacific on Monday
  • Craft re-entered the atmosphere around 8.15am Beijing time and 'vast majority' had burnt up upon re-entry
  • Chinese space authorities had predicted to would re-enter off the Brazilian coast in the South Atlantic
  • It was hard for authorities to predict exactly where it would crash
  • The chances of any one person being hit by its debris are considered to be less than one in a trillion
