Google 'riots' and you get the Capital protest, however, Google 'peaceful protests' and you get the Portland and Minnesota riots...

The shadow

The shadow knows!
Derek Chauvin is found guilty of murdering George Floyd.

GUILTY!
These guilty verdicts are the bare minimum toward making Chauvin culpable for Floyd's murder. I'm relieved he was found guilty, even though we all KNOW Chauvin is the reason why George Floyd isn't alive.

Let's use this moment as a springboard toward real and actual change in this obviously white supremacist organization known as policing in America.

There are most certainly bad and/or incompetent cops out there who give the largely good and caring majority a bad name. I hope this will spur at least some of the first category to find a new line of work.

The presiding judge, Peter Cahill, said yesterday, in response to the prejudicial remarks of US Representative Maxine Waters "I'll give you that Congresswoman Waters may have given you something on appeal that may result on this whole trial being overturned," (I think he meant to say result in, and not on).

Judge blasts U.S. Rep Maxine Waters for 'abhorrent' comments about Chauvin trial | Reuters

"I'm aware that Congresswoman Waters was talking specifically about this trial, and about the unacceptability of anything less than a murder conviction, and talk about being 'confrontational,' "

"I wish elected officials would stop talking about this case, especially in a manner that's disrespectful to the rule of law and to the judicial branch and our function, [...] Their failure to do so is abhorrent."

Joe Biden also made prejudicial public remarks today ahead of the verdict, saying that he prayed jurors would return the "right" verdict, and implying heavily that he meant a guilty verdict. Certainly that is the politically convenient verdict.

I watched a bit of the trial and especially the closing arguments of both prosecution and defence. Although I did not hear all the evidence like the actual jury, my opinion is that Chauvin is guilty on the balance of probabilities, but not beyond reasonable doubt. The jury returned a unanimous guilty verdict, and anything less was politically unacceptable, so they did their duty to their country in that sense. There should not be so much public emotion bound up in a single case, as it prejudices the verdict and prevents a fair trial.

In Britain, it is illegal to publicly broadcast remarks during a trial such as were made by Maxine Waters and Joe Biden. This is considered to be contempt of court in this country.

While I understand it I think it's over the top

I don't understand it, its very hypocritical in my opinion, accepting one form of racism whist destroying cities in protest against racism...Ignorance at its finest...

'She's taking the money and running': Tamir Rice's mom leads black mothers of police shooting victims slamming BLM director Patrisse Cullors for profiting from their dead kids and quitting with $3m property portfolio

Mothers who lost black sons and daughters at the hands of police are speaking critically of Black Lives Matter saying the organization did nothing to help them. Samaria Rice, left, the mother of Tamir Rice, whose 12-year-old son was shot dead by police in Cleveland, Ohio while carrying a toy handgun, left, Lisa Simpson the mother of Richard Risher, who was shot as he ran through an LA housing project, bottom right, and Tamika Palmer mother of Breonna Taylor, whose daughter was shot during a no-knock warrant at the wrong address in her Louisville home, top right, have all spoken out saying the organization did little to help them. Palmer even went as far as to brand BLM as a 'fraud' including her local Louisville chapter.

The organization of BLM has experienced a surge in donations raising $90 million in the past year following the death of George Floyd. Many victims' families say none of the money has gone to them. On Friday, its co-founder Patrisse Cullors, main, stepped down as executive director of the organization amid controversy over her $3 million property portfolio.

Minneapolis protesters hold city council VP ‘hostage’ by blocking vehicle, demanding riot charges dropped

(Excerpt)

Hooker shows the camera a list of "The People’s Demands" that Jenkins must agree to before she’s free to leave. The handwritten note calls for the formation of a "community police accountability commission," to "reopen all the cases of murderers," to "drop the charges for all 646 protesters and other protesters for 2020," and to "make all information on the murder of Winston Smith available." It also demands the resignation of Mayor Jacob Frey and to "leave George Floyd Square alone. PERIOD."

The protesters shouted each demand and asked if they had Jenkins’ support. She agreed, "Yes," to the first few before shaking her head when protesters called for Frey’s resignation. The crowd shouted again until Jenkins finally agreed and she asked, "Do you understand English? I already said it."

Responding to the final demand to stay out of George Floyd Square, Jenkins retorted, "So you’re asking me not to do my job." As the group shouted over her, she continued, "I was elected to represent that neighborhood, so what you’re asking me to do is to not do my job."

"We are not asking no more, White lady. We are demanding," a female voice in the crowd shouted to the driver, as seen in a shorter snippet of the incident shared by independent journalist Andy Ngo. "Do your job and drive."

Media fall in line with Psaki's claim Republicans want to defund the police: 'Simply preposterous'

Liberal media appear to be falling in line with White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki's suggestion that the Republicans are the party trying to defund the police, despite several prominent progressive Democrats explicitly stating as such over the course of the past year.

"Well, the president did mention that the American Rescue Plan, the state and local funding, something that was supported by the president, a lot of Democrats who supported and voted for the bill, could help ensure local cops were kept on the beat in communities across the country. As you know, [it] didn't receive a single Republican vote. That funding has been used to keep cops on the beat," Psaki said in response to a question from Fox News' Peter Doocy on Tuesday.

Bloomberg Opinion published a similar argument, noting Democrats secured funding for local police departments over GOP objections in a piece entitled, "Who Really Wants to Defund the Police?"

"It’s true that some activists, including a small number of Democratic politicians, support the abolition of police departments," Jonathan Bernstein wrote. "A much larger group of activists and politicians has advocated for something called defunding the police, but that has in context meant a variety of things, some relatively radical and some not at all. On the other hand, as Psaki pointed out, Democrats in Congress have recently secured massive amounts of funding for state and local governments, over Republican objections, with a fair amount of that money specifically intended for local police departments that pandemic-strapped cities couldn’t afford."

Biden supporter and Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin agreed with the administration, tweeting, "Even the Squad is more pro-police than these Republicans" as she shared a new op-ed from Dana Milbank entitled, "Republicans have a new strategy: Blue Lies Matter."

BLM under fire for defending Cuban regime, blaming protests on US

Black Lives Matter has been accused of hypocrisy by ignoring the pleas for help from Cuba’s oppressed citizens — instead blaming the violent protests on US opposition to the Communist “revolution.”

The protest group — founded by “trained Marxists” — released a statement that completely ignored the mass calls demanding “freedom” from the oppressive Cuban regime as well as widespread reports of police brutality and arrests.

Instead, it solely blamed the troubles on the US embargo, calling it a “cruel and inhumane policy” that was “instituted with the explicit intention of destabilizing the country and undermining Cubans’ right to choose their own government.”

“The people of Cuba are being punished by the U.S. government because the country has maintained its commitment to sovereignty and self-determination,” BLM said in the statement first given to a Politico reporter.

I have family in Kenosha that tells me that there are a hell of a lot of people that have been brought in for this and that they are not local.

Years back I saw Al Sharpton do the same thing in Poughkeepsie over that Tawana Brawley farce - the outright fabrication and pack of lies that damaged a lot of people and propelled him to a national level of .... attention. He still makes me want to puke even after all these years.
