Climate change.

Over the years. It seems like the temperature is rising. At least in the summer. I know a little about certain types of particle physics, But I know next to nothing about climate sciences.

My question is simple. Are the summers actually getting hotter and is this something we should be worried about? Is the climate changing? I mean, People complain about the heat. but the hottest temperature on record was and still is in 1913 in furnace creek ranch in California: Highest temperature recorded on Earth - Wikipedia Should we worry about the future of our climate? Or is all the Climate clamor just a bunch of bs?

It’s not a matter of worrying these days. If you can’t get politicians to act, what can you do? Corporations don’t want to pay for clean air and water. That’s why they have lobbyists reminding the politicians that their company paid them good money to sit on their hands about cleaning up the environment.

The bottom line is... the system is broke and has been that way for some time.

So it is a fact then, The climate is getting warmer, :(

From reports I have read, the pollution builds up in the atmosphere and then traps the heat from leaving the surface. You only need to check out before and after photos of icecaps in the Arctic regions to know the planet is warming up. As this melting occurs the sea levels rise.

Can I interest you in some beach front property??

It would never work out, I'm embarrassed to admit. I cannot swim. at all. lol

In some places, but keep in mind it is also getting colder in the winter, in some places...

This isn't just a climate change towards warming but also a cooling...Some of this is caused by mankind but I think also some of it is caused by the slow pole reversal we are experiencing now and the most importantly the sun's activities...

I don't know how credited this theory is in scientific circles. But I've read online for years that every so often the earths magnetic poll will reverse If that holds up to factual scientific observation. And the polls do reverse. What would happen to the earth and even life on earth during the adjustment phase?

The reversal phase takes many thousands of years to happen. You need not worry quite yet.

Indeed, it will be quite a long time before the apogee of this pole reversal is witnessed and as far as we know life goes on, I mean, well we would not be here right now otherwise, because of previous documented reversals in past history...lol

My assumption is, There would be food shortages because of the changing geography and weather patterns. But. It all may happen so slowly that it doesn't impact us all that much. When it comes to the earth's climate. I'm at a complete loss for any scientific information. :(

Right now, I would worry more about making car and mortgage payments than magnetic pole reversals.

Don't I know it, :( If I had known when I was younger how student loans would come back to haunt me. I think I would have found another way. Both I and my wife own tens of thousands and:( it's been long enough. They are forcing us to pay those off now,

Well...

It is like this.

About half of the post 1900 warming is natural.

About 1/4 of the warming is due to land use change.

About 1/4 is due to "greenhouse" gas.

The land use (mostly chopping down rainforest) causes large temperature swings and alters rainfall and seasonal patterns.

Does more CO2 make it a little warmer? Sure.

Is it worth doing anything about it? No.

Probably should add that 40% of our food comes from post 1900's CO2 emissions from fossil fuel plants.

Without that fossil fuel emission a lot of people would be starving - or we would have converted ALL arable land to farm use and there would be few wild animals.

That's Deep, But it leads me to this question though, Okay. So we need to burn that much fossil fuel to support the population, This ultimately leads me to the petroleum question. Why haven't we replaced fossil fuels yet? And I pose this thought. If we have no choice and must burn that much fossil fuel. then have we not reached a population limit?
