Fauci says fully vaccinated people 'might want to consider' wearing a mask indoors as a precaution against the Delta variant
Dr. Anthony Fauci, the US's top infectious-disease expert, said fully vaccinated people might "want to consider" wearing masks indoors to help protect against the Delta coronavirus variant, which is spreading fast across the country.

I've already been doing that as has my mother since the Indian variant has been spreading...Funny thing, yesterday when I was hiking back to my campsite I did see one person also hiking, he was alone and wearing a mask! Lol

At almost 4000 ft. elevation alone in the wilderness wearing a mask for covid lol...I'm sorry but that's the most ridiculous thing I've seen since I came up here...

Israel says Pfizer Covid vaccine is just 39% effective as delta spreads, but still prevents severe illness

Pfizer and BioNTech’s Covid-19 vaccine is just 39% effective in Israel where the delta variant is the dominant strain, but still provides strong protection against severe illness and hospitalization, according to a new report from the country’s Health Ministry.

The efficacy figure, which is based on an unspecified number of people between June 20 and July 17, is down from an earlier estimate of 64% two weeks ago and conflicts with data out of the U.K. that found the shot was 88% effective against symptomatic disease caused by the variant.

However, the two-dose vaccine still works very well in preventing people from getting seriously sick, demonstrating 88% effectiveness against hospitalization and 91% effectiveness against severe illness, according to the Israeli data published Thursday.

Australian Man Stages Daring Bed Sheet Escape from Coronavirus Quarantine

An Australian man ordered to quarantine in a hotel as part of the country's strict efforts to thwart the spread of the coronavirus wound up in trouble with the law when he staged a rather daring escape from the building by way of a rope made of bed sheets. According to the Western Australia Police Force, the bizarre incident began when the unnamed traveler arrived in the state on Monday afternoon. Unfortunately, he did not possess an appropriate exemption for the country's pandemic-related travel restrictions and was thus remanded to a hotel for the night with instructions to leave the state within 48 hours. However, the man had other plans in mind once he arrived in quarantine.

In a Facebook post showcasing his handiwork, authorities explained that the traveler fashioned a rather lengthy rope out of bed sheets and managed to shimmy his way down to the ground from his room on the fourth floor. Although he subsequently fled the scene on foot, he left behind his somewhat comical means of escape and police eventually tracked the man down the following morning. He is now in a different kind of quarantine as authorities arrested him and charged him with providing false information and failure to comply with their earlier direction to stay at the hotel. If there were one upside to the entire affair, it might be that when the man was tested for the coronavirus, it came back negative, so at least he only has his newfound legal troubles to worry about.

I still have a ringing in both ears, some days its louder than other days, this began about November last year, and last month I thought it was going away, it got very faint for a week of two but came back...

...

The ringing in my ears has stopped since I came up to the mountains and away from civilization...I've been in this fairly remote area since last Wednesday and with the immense quiet here the ringing should have been louder if it was an internal problem with my ears...Evidently something outside myself is causing the ringing...

The implication of the Israeli data is not merely that the vaccine effectiveness is lower than expected, but that it diminishes quite dramatically over time.

There are suggestions that the conflict with the UK data is due to dose timing. Israel stuck rigidly to Pfizer's recommendation of three weeks between first and second doses. There is evidence that delaying the second dose enhances the effectiveness. In Britain, the timing of the second dose was between eight and 12 weeks after the first dose for the vast majority of people receiving the vaccines.

I think that is an indication that the "ringing in your ears" is not tinitus or some medical issue but rather wifi and cell phone towers (is that microwave fields?) I find that any time I go out to the outback I don't have the ringing in my ears either. That is why I think about getting some kind of emf blocker around my bedroom. Haven't done it yet but I think we talked about it on the forum a while back.

I have materials to build a Faraday cage large enough to sleep in...I need to finish that project and do some testing...I seem to remember discussing an emf blocker, some type of composite materials...I'll try to find that thread...

Well, I guess I could have said "the boonies" I just meant away from civilization where there are no cell towers. Isn't that what outback means? Chaco Canyon is a great place to get away from civilization and the wifi/cell tower noise but I don't know how much longer that will be true.

They have just brought in QR codes for our phones down here , strange as we have no Covid nor Covid fragments in any waste water in the State. Its a pain as you have to use the code for every single shop you go into . So if I want to shop till I drop I am going to have a sore finger by the end of the day.
