Vets begin offering coronavirus tests for PETS in Germany, and warn cats are the most likely to be infected

German vets are offering a coronavirus test for cats and dogs after virologists found they are susceptible to the disease.

Scientists at the Free University of Berlin are carrying out PCR tests similar to those on humans to detect whether Covid-19 has spread to pets. One virologist said cats appeared to be more vulnerable than dogs and could become 'carriers'. However, there have been no reported cases of humans being infected by their pets. Belgian authorities announced the first case of an infected cat last month, and a second was later reported in Hong Kong.

Yes indeed we are dealing with a large population, very large numbers, I read of men 15 years younger than myself dropping dead in 3 days or 6 days and it's very disconcerting...Don't get me wrong, I'm not paranoid about his crisis and I sleep at night just fine, but a pandemic of this magnitude occurring in my lifetime is astounding...My inner considerations have changed because of this once in a lifetime event and some timetables of my inner work have been moved up in preparation for what may come, and outwardly I do have all my affairs in order, my Will and beneficiaries locked in, just in case...The virus has been creeping into the area to which I live, and we are now locally counting deaths attributed to the virus, it's close and I find myself starting to dread doing what we used to take for granted, getting some groceries or putting gasoline in the car or even going to work...The percentages are low but the numbers are high, it could be worse, but also, it could have been better...

...
What also seems quite possible is that the number of deaths Britain has experienced to date due to this disease is going to be doubled in the next week, and then doubled again the week after that, before effect of the lockdown measure will be evident in the number of deaths. Hopefully the social distancing measures advised (but not required) by the government on the 16th of March will show some significant effect a week earlier than that.

UK's coronavirus crisis kills a Briton every TWO MINUTES as figures show Birmingham is England's hotspot with almost 1,400 cases - while only six patients have been infected in Rutland

The coronavirus is killing one Briton every two minutes and Birmingham is the epicentre of the UK's crisis, figures show. The darkest day of the UK's outbreak yesterday saw a further 786 deaths reported, bringing the total to 6,159. However, the outbreak seems to be slowing, with the lowest number of new cases diagnosed yesterday. Figures show the NHS trust with the most victims in England is University Hospitals Birmingham, followed by several trusts in London. The hospital body has already recorded 263 deaths, 37 of which were included in yesterday's record toll. Birmingham has also consistently had the most coronavirus cases throughout the outbreak, in comparison to other local authorities.

That's awesome; Modly is a disgrace to the Armed Services.

Now Trump should promote Captain Crozier for placing the lives of his sailors above his own self-interest, because we need more heroes like him.

Modly didn't sack Captain Crozier for trying to save lives of sailors, but for being a drama queen and bypassing the chain of command. Captain Crozier's duty was to report the situation and duty of secretary of defense was to than decide on best course of action. What Crozier did was to try force his superiors to make certain decision. Just imagine what would happen if all subordinate officers would try to use press to influence decisions of the senior officers. Any army would turn into a total chaos.

Question: Is there any evidence that Modly actually opposed taking necessary action to help sailors?

African Americans more likely to die from coronavirus illness, early data shows

(Reuters) - Early data from U.S. states shows African Americans are more likely to die from COVID-19, highlighting longstanding disparities in health and inequalities in access to medical care, experts said.

In Illinois, black people make up about 30% of the state's cases and about 40% of its coronavirus-related deaths, according to statistics provided by the state's public health agency. However, African Americans make up just 14.6% of the state's population.

Bing COVID-19 tracker: Latest numbers by country and state

In Michigan, black people account for 40% of the state's reported deaths, according to data released by the state, but its population is only 14% African American.

Is this Bullshit? Is this True? I've looked on the net, There are a lot of sources for this story but they all trace back to this Reuter's place.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

True the spread will occur faster in poor white and black areas across the world. Sanctuary cities will show more, just as London and Manchester will show more black and minority deaths because there are more of them there in close contact.

Alexander Johannesburg S.A would the last place on Earth I'd rather be.

That might be a compelling argument if Modly hadn't just proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that the top Navy brass is unfit for command and their bloodless indifference to the lives of our sailors was an insurmountable obstacle that Captain Crozier had to bypass in order to get his men the medical attention that they needed.
Question: Is there any evidence that Modly actually opposed taking necessary action to help sailors?
There's ample evidence that Captain Crozier alerted his superiors on multiple occasions that the coronavirus was sweeping through his ship and something needed to be done...and the top brass (including Modly) did exactly jack shit about it.

Then Modly flew halfway around the world to denigrate Captain Crozier before the men who loved him for helping them out - making a total fool of himself and compromising the sense of honor and loyalty that make our armed forces effective.

Hilariously, Modly called Crozier "naive" and "stupid" if he didn't think that his letter would get leaked - and Modly argued that this alone merited Crozier's dismissal...and yet Modly made the exact same mistake because his speech was also immediately leaked to the media. On the basis of that irony alone, Modly deserves a dishonorable discharge.

And btw - it's absolutely ludicrous to call Captain Crozier a "drama queen" now that we know that he contracted the coronavirus on his virus-infested ship; obviously the Navy failed to respond to a dangerous emergency unfolding on that ship and, if anything, Captain Crozier acted too late.

The coronavirus facts China wants the world to forget: Beijing releases a COVID-19 timeline - but fails to include whistle-blowers, Huanan food market and 'the order to destroy all samples'

China's official news agency has released a coronavirus timeline to hit back at accusations that Beijing tried to cover up the full scale of the outbreak. State-run Xinhua said that the timeline, published on Monday, proved how the country 'has shared information and advanced international cooperation' in the fight against the killer bug.

The 37-page document included - as described by Xinhua - the 'main facts and measures China has taken' to contain the epidemic. In particular, it hailed the role of President Xi Jinping and other Communist leaders.

However, the mammoth report has left out some of the most crucial events of the health crisis, each of which has played a decisive role in the development of the global emergency.

1. The whistleblowers

Probably one of the most notable stories related to the COVID-19 pandemic, eight Wuhan medical workers who sounded the alarm on the virus at the end of December were accused of spreading fake news and reprimanded by police. As early as December 30, the 34-year-old posted messages to a social media chatting group used by local medics, warning them of 'SARS at a Wuhan seafood market'. His alert came over three weeks before Wuhan went into lockdown.

2. The Huanan seafood market

Since the beginning of the outbreak, researchers and authorities have linked the virus to the Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market, a once-popular wet market in the city of 11 million. Curiously, it did not appear in the timeline.

3. 'Gag order'

A high-profile investigative report has accused Chinese officials of ordering labs to stop testing and destroy all samples of the coronavirus in the very early stages of the outbreak. On January 1, officials from the Hubei Health Commission slapped the gag order on some gene-sequencing companies which had identified a new strain of SARS-like coronavirus as early as December 27, said the report.

4. When did Xi know

It remains a mystery when China's President Xi first learned about the outbreak. The timeline, as well as many state media reports, claimed that Xi 'made instructions on epidemic response when presiding over a meeting of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee' on January 7.

5. The mysterious 'zero case' days

Wuhan reported no new cases between January 6 and 17 when the city was holding a series of important political meetings, known as the 'two sessions'. Nearly 700 officials, lawmakers and government representatives attended the conferences.

6. Wuhan mayor admitted slow reactions

One of the most influential interviews in the early days of the outbreak came from Zhou Xianwang, the mayor of Wuhan. Mr Zhou confessed that his team had not released information about the situation 'in time' to state broadcaster CCTV on January 27. Mr Zhou disclosed at a press conference the day before that around five million Wuhan residents had left the city before all forms of transport were halted on January 23. This article was published one day before Wuhan reported its first death from COVID-19. It came five days after another Xinhua report said no evidence showed that the virus could spread from one person to another.
The timeline did not mention either article.

Flight from Wuhan - the original coronavirus epicentre - arrives in Sydney with crew unloading mystery cargo and heading to a HOTEL just days after strict lockdown in China was lifted

Airline employees and cargo handlers dressed entirely in protective gear began unpacking the Boeing 747 in the dead of night after it arrived in Sydney from Wuhan, China. The cargo plane operated by Chinese carrier Suparna 'Yangtze River' part of the Hainan Airlines Group (HNA) touched down at about 9:30pm. The plane is carrying freight rather than passengers but does have some crew on board. A man in protective gear was seen leaving the aircraft holding a cardboard box. Sydney Airport told Daily Mail Australia that cargo handlers would follow strict disease control protocols. Aviation expert with Strategic Aviation Solutions, Neil Hansford, guessed the plane could be arriving with the purpose of delivering personal protective equipment or to return to China with Australian exports.

Intelligence report warned of coronavirus crisis as early as November

As far back as late November, U.S. intelligence officials were warning that a contagion was sweeping through China’s Wuhan region, changing the patterns of life and business and posing a threat to the population, according to four sources briefed on the secret reporting.

Concerns about what is now known to be the novel coronavirus pandemic were detailed in a November intelligence report by the military's National Center for Medical Intelligence (NCMI), according to two officials familiar with the document’s contents.

The report was the result of analysis of wire and computer intercepts, coupled with satellite images. It raised alarms because an out-of-control disease would pose a serious threat to U.S. forces in Asia — forces that depend on the NCMI’s work. And it paints a picture of an American government that could have ramped up mitigation and containment efforts far earlier to prepare for a crisis poised to come home.

"Analysts concluded it could be a cataclysmic event," one of the sources said of the NCMI’s report. "It was then briefed multiple times to" the Defense Intelligence Agency, the Pentagon’s Joint Staff and the White House.

From that warning in November, the sources described repeated briefings through December for policy-makers and decision-makers across the federal government as well as the National Security Council at the White House. All of that culminated with a detailed explanation of the problem that appeared in the President’s Daily Brief of intelligence matters in early January, the sources said. For something to have appeared in the PDB, it would have had to go through weeks of vetting and analysis, according to people who have worked on presidential briefings in both Republican and Democratic administrations.

"The timeline of the intel side of this may be further back than we’re discussing," the source said of preliminary reports from Wuhan. "But this was definitely being briefed beginning at the end of November as something the military needed to take a posture on."

If this doesn't pertain directly to the Coronavirus, I have no objections to it being moved. I just felt people would be interested to know this.

The Next Stimulus Bill is considering giving all front line workers, Such as Health Care workers, Truck drivers, Store cashiers, 25 Grand in Hero pay for working the front lines during this Coronavirus crisis. Here is a link so you guys know I'm not making this up. https://nypost.com/2020/04/07/schumer-calls-for-25k-in-heroes-pay-for-coronavirus-workers/ Now, I know right now None of this matters in lite that everyone is dealing with other worries, However, I'm almost certain 25 grand will help a lot of people.

Here is some of the article splayed out so people don't have to click the link,

Schumer calls for up to $25,000 in ‘heroes’ pay for coronavirus workers

chuck-schumer-heroes-01-1.jpg

Sen. Chuck Schumer is calling for up to $25,000 in “heroes” pay for front-line health care and service industry workers as Congress pushes ahead with a new coronavirus crisis rescue package.

“This is a heroes’ fund and they deserve it,” the New York Democrat said Tuesday.

The Senate minority leader declared the emerging proposal the “highest priority” for Democrats as congressional leaders and President Trump call for more aid for Americans.
Nurses, truck drivers, grocery store clerks and others are “risking their lives” to care for Americans amid the COVID-19 pandemic and economic shutdown, he said.

“They get lots of applause and kudos,” he said, referring to the nightly 7 p.m. cheers that ring out from residents across New York City for the front-line workers. But, he said, they also need the cash.

The proposal comes as the president and congressional leaders agreed that Americans will need more aid beyond the $2.2 trillion packages signed into law by Trump last month.
“We’re going to take good care of our people,” Trump said Monday at his daily White House briefing. “It was not their fault.” The details of the package are still being debated and it is unclear if Schumer’s idea will gain traction with Trump or his Republican allies in Congress — especially given it is sure to be an enormous price tag.

Schumer’s proposal would provide up to $25,000 in hazard pay for the rest of the year for the front-line workers.

**
Now, Here is the thing, Now that this is before Congress, there isn't a snowball's chance in hell that Front line workers won't get anything, Some sort of something good will eventually come from this for front line workers, I mean now that the idea has been before Congress, I can't possibly imagine a world where they don't at least get a medal and handshake or something. Something cool will eventually happen for those people who have to get out and work in this.

I think I'm starting to see a fuller picture here, See I don't fully get politics, So, Chuck Schumer's actual plan is to cause as much damage to Trump's Economy as he can then. Because here is the thing, Now that the idea of hazard pay is before congress. I mean, The government can't just not acknowledge them, Something that will cost a lot of money will almost have to occur at this point just to satiate the people because now people will feel a certain amount of entitlement.

806 people die in New York City in a day: Daily death toll DOUBLES as doctor describes life at field hospital in Central Park where patients could be hospitalized for weeks

Central Park was transformed into a 68-bed makeshift field hospital (left and top right) in just 48 hours to take the pressure off overwhelmed hospitals the country's coronavirus epicentre as the death toll in the city skyrocketed to 3,544. The hospital has 41 patients currently - three of which are in the ICU - mostly from the hardest-hit boroughs of Brooklyn and Queens. The facility, run by Christian humanitarian group Samaritan's Purse has just over 70 medics and can take 10 intensive care patients.

UK announces 936 more coronavirus victims pushing Britain's death toll up to 7,095 - yet another record daily high in the nation's deepening crisis amid fears it is 'nowhere near' the end of lockdown

Individual reports from NHS England, the Scottish Government, Public Health Wales and Northern Ireland's Public Health Agency have pushed the UK's death toll above 7,000 and produced another unprecedented surge in the number of people who have died of COVID-19. Further clarity is expected later today from the Department of Health, but more than 55,000 people have been officially diagnosed with the coronavirus since Britain's outbreak began in February.

The true number of patients past and present is widely assumed to be in the millions but the scale remains unknown because only hospital patients and NHS staff are being routinely tested. Today's update comes as Prime Minister Boris Johnson remains in intensive care in St Thomas' Hospital, London, where his condition is described as stable and he is 'responding to treatment', his spokesman said today. The UK is expected to endure a considerably longer lockdown as the peak of the outbreak may not come for another 10 days and Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said he believed the country was 'nowhere near' emerging from its current quarantine.

But We need to be able to hold this knowledge, Because those videos of the devastation, Will be buried and forgotten, someday they won't be able to be found. Even now people tend to look away because they would rather live in their fantasy than face reality,. But this is the truth, It's worth notation, Documentation.
