Elon Musk, What's up with that dude?

George Soros, Clinton and Obama staffers and European governments are behind anti-Musk campaign to force big corporations to boycott Twitter - after Elon demanded to know 'who funds these organizations?'

Some of the most high-profile liberal figures have joined together to encourage advertisers to boycott Twitter if Elon Musk brings in his promised policy of unfettered 'free speech.'

Twenty six NGOs and advocacy groups signed a letter expressing concern about the world's richest man's plan.

Musk himself responded to the letter asking who funded them: the answer being an assortment of 'dark money groups' like George Soros's Open Society Foundation; NGOs founded by former Clinton and Obama administration staffers; wealthy Democrat donors and their family foundations; labor unions; and the governments of European nations.

'Elon Musk's takeover of Twitter will further toxify our information ecosystem and be a direct threat to public safety, especially among those already most vulnerable and marginalized,' they wrote.

They warned that advertising on Twitter would see their company 'risks association with a platform amplifying hate, extremism, health misinformation, and conspiracy theorists.'

The authors continued: 'Under Musk's management, Twitter risks becoming a cesspool of misinformation, with your brand attached, polluting our information ecosystem in a time where trust in institutions and news media is already at an all-time low.

'Your ad dollars can either fund Musk's vanity project or hold him to account. We call on you to demand Musk uphold these basic standards of community trust and safety, and to pull your advertising spending from Twitter if they are not.'

.

The only thing that should be banned in functioning democracy is Censorship.

Except in few cases, like child pornography, inciting violence, hate speech, revealing state security secrets, promotion of criminal enterprise and similar stuff.

The purchase of Twitter is on hold until Elon Musk has evidence of how much of the Twitter membership are fake accounts...The percentage he finds may devalue Twitter stock, I think its more than 5%...

Elon Musk says deal for Twitter is 'on hold'

'Twitter does not believe in free speech': Undercover Project Veritas recording reveals Twitter engineer saying platform censors the right but NOT the left, everyone who works there is 'commie as f**k' and they 'hate' Elon Musk

A man described by Project Veritas as a senior engineer with Twitter has been caught admitting to an undercover reporter that the company has a strong left-wing bias, and conservatives are routinely censored. Siru Murugesan was filmed by a Veritas operative saying that the company culture at Twitter is extremely far left, and saying his colleagues 'hate, hate, hate' the proposed takeover by Elon Musk. 'Twitter does not believe in free speech,' he said, adding that his co-workers 'hated' Musk's $44 billion bid to take control of the company. 'They hate it,' he said. 'Oh my God. I'm at least like okay with it. But some of my colleagues are like super left, left, left, left, left.' Asked how his co-workers responded to the news of Musk's buyout, Murugesan replied: 'They're like, 'this would be my last day if this happens'.' Murugesan said Twitter's office politics were so left-leaning they shaped his own views, and changed him. 'Like I started working at Twitter and became left,' he said. 'I think it's just like the environment, like you're there and you become like this commie.'

Elon Musk sets condition for Twitter purchase to go forward

Tesla CEO Elon Musk set a key condition for his pending $44 billion purchase of Twitter to go through: transparency on the number of fake or spam accounts.

Musk tweeted, "20% fake/spam accounts, while 4 times what Twitter claims, could be *much* higher. My offer was based on Twitter’s SEC filings being accurate."

"Yesterday, Twitter’s CEO publicly refused to show proof of <5%," the Tesla CEO added. "This deal cannot move forward until he does." Musk had responded to an article from Teslarati, which claimed that he may be seeking a better deal to acquire Twitter.

"Musk said he believes 20 percent of Twitter accounts are fake or spam, a number that needs to be significantly reduced and could be the reasoning behind his thirst for a renegotiation of terms," the outlet reported. "Perhaps Twitter is not as valuable with fewer users, of course, and Musk may feel that the already-large asking price of $54.20 per share is simply too high to justify when one-in-five users are not actually humans."

Teslarati noted that if Musk backs out of the deal, he will be required to pay Twitter a $1 billion termination fee and could be subjected to additional litigation.

Musk said last week that his acquisition of Twitter is in hold pending details about spam and fake accounts on the platform, yet he added that he is "still committed" to the purchase of the social media company.

I don’t blame Musk for wanting to know if up to 20% of Twitter customers are false. A 1 billion dollar fee for backing out is chicken shit to Musk. He could save billions by checking out this possible false spam.

Billionaires at war! Elon Musk deepens feud with Bill Gates by touting article claiming the Microsoft mogul poured MILLIONS into 'dark money fund' targeting him

Elon Musk has deepened his feud with fellow billionaire Bill Gates, tweeting in response to an article claiming that Gates is funding his critics. Musk on Tuesday tweeted 'sigh' in response to a link to a Breitbart article claiming that Gates' foundation donated 'hundreds of millions of dollars' to numerous groups behind a campaign pushing advertisers to boycott Twitter if Musk takes over.

The article says the Gates Foundation donated to 11 of the 26 signatories of an open letter pushing the boycott, distributing the cash through the New Venture Fund and the Tides Foundation, which have been characterized as 'dark money' groups. It follows an escalating feud between Musk and Gates, who recently criticized the Tesla CEO's plan to buy Twitter for $44 billion. Musk has also accused Gates of taking a large position betting against Tesla stock, and chided the Microsoft creator's zaftig figure by comparing him to an emoji of a pregnant man.

Some of these billionaire types like Musk are having a pissing contest with Biden. Biden wants to paint a rosy scenario about the economy. Even Janet Yellen the Secretary of the Treasury says she screwed up about inflation. Musk says more than a few businesses are going to collapse in order to correct the economy.

830,000 Teslas with Autopilot under NHTSA Investigation, Recall Possible

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) will take a deeper look into how Tesla vehicles equipped with so-called Autopilot driver assistance software navigate when interacting with first responder vehicles at the scene of a collision. NHTSA said this week that it is upgrading the Preliminary Evaluation it started last August into an Engineering Analysis, which is the next step in a possible recall of hundreds of thousands of Tesla vehicles.

NHTSA said in its notice that it was motivated to upgrade the status of the investigation because of "an accumulation of crashes in which Tesla vehicles, operating with Autopilot engaged, struck stationary in-road or roadside first responder vehicles tending to pre-existing collision scenes."

What Level 2 Means

NHTSA said that Tesla itself characterizes Autopilot as "an SAE Level 2 driving automation system designed to support and assist the driver," and many automakers use some sort of Level 2 system in their new vehicles. In fact, as part of NHTSA’s probe last fall, it asked Tesla and a dozen other automakers for information on how their Level 2 systems operate.

Based on public information as of today, NHTSA is now only interested in understanding Tesla Autopilot performance. NHTSA followed up its August information request with a request for more information last October, specifically about how Tesla makes changes to Autopilot using over-the-air updates as well as the way Tesla requires non-disclosure agreements with owners whose vehicles are part of Tesla’a so-called Full Self-Driving (FSD) "beta" release program. Despite the name, FSD is not actually capable of driving the car on its own.

In a public update on its probe, NHTSA laid out its case for why Autopilot needs to be investigated. NHTSA said it has so far investigated 16 crashes and found that Autopilot only aborted its own vehicle control, on average, "less than one second prior to the first impact" even though video of these events proved that the driver would have been able to see the potential incident an average of eight seconds before impact. NHTSA found most of the drivers had their hands on the wheel (as Autopilot requires) but that the drivers did not take evasive action in time. In four of the crashes, or 25 percent, the Tesla did not issue any “visual or chime alerts at all during the final Autopilot use cycle,” NHTSA said.

Drivers using Tesla Autopilot were involved in hundreds of crashes in just 10 months

Vehicles using Tesla's Autopilot software were involved in 273 crashes over roughly the last year, according to a report released Wednesday by the US road-safety regulator.

The report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration offers the clearest picture yet of how bleeding-edge advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) from Tesla and others perform on US roads. ADAS features can automate vehicle functions like steering, braking, and acceleration but stop short of making a car fully autonomous.

The data comes from an order NHTSA gave to automakers last June instructing them to report any known incidents involving their driver-assistance technologies, known as Level 2 systems. Regulators also told autonomous-vehicle companies like Waymo to share information about crashes as they occur.

Automakers reported 392 crashes involving their ADAS systems in total between July of last year and May 15, with Tesla logging by far the most. Honda was next with 90 crashes. Subaru had 10, Ford had five, and Toyota had four. Seven other carmakers reported three or fewer incidents.

Some of the reported incidents involved other vehicles colliding with an automaker's ADAS-enabled cars.

The research is part of a broader effort by the US government to understand the risks and safety benefits of ADAS features, which are becoming increasingly common and which encourage drivers to yield an increasing array of driving tasks to their vehicles, from parking to changing lanes.

Tesla in particular is under intense scrutiny from regulators after a string of crashes in which Autopilot-enabled cars crashed into stopped emergency vehicles. Although Tesla tells drivers they need to pay full attention, safety experts have criticized Autopilot for encouraging distracted driving. Numerous videos have popped up over the years depicting drivers sleeping or otherwise abusing Tesla's system.

Without information about how many ADAS-equipped vehicles each manufacturer has on the road and the number of miles they travel, it's impossible to say whether one system crashes more frequently than another.
