I think when most people envision a nuclear war with Russia (or old Soviet Union) - they always picture the underground silo's opening up on their homeland & then firing their missiles at US targets - and vice versa. Lots of people forget or don't realize that these guys are always lurking somewhere nearby and don't even need to surface to launch their missiles. Each new Bulava missile carries 6 independently targeted warheads with 140 kilotons of explosives. It also says that each missile carries between 10-40 decoys that it can deploy. Pretty rare video of a ballistic missile submarine launching 4 missiles from beneath the ocean.
