It is hard to be unhealthy with a strong immune system.
Yes and no - True it is important to have a good immune system

But many diseases are caused by the immune system overreacting and then attacking your body
and sometimes various organs in the body - Over active immune response can be very serious.

And that is another reason why I worry about this 'somewhat ineffective' flu shot this year
- Could a partial response to the virus by your immune system actually worsen the outcome
should you come down with the more serious strain of flu???

Even with natural immune stimulants, such as certain herbs, like echinacea, if if you do the reasearch
{I use WebMD supplement checker: Vitamins & Supplements Center – Nutritional, Herbal, Dietary, and More - WebMD}
they will sometimes in the section on 'side effects' tell you not to use certain herbs if you are being treated
for certain immune diseases or check with a health professional first.

New CDC statistics show over 4,000 Americans died from the flu or pneumonia during the third week of January

Startling CDC statistics show 4,064 Americans died from the flu or pneumonia during the third week of the new year, while the illnesses were responsible for 1 in 10 fatalities in the first week of February.

'On a national basis, prescriptions for Tamiflu are up more than 6 times last year's rate. The high volume of Tamiflu prescriptions at this point in the season has resulted in a shortage of the medication.'

CDC acting director Anne Schuchat predicts the death toll will continue to rise over the next few weeks.

Texas woman dies because $116 co-pay for flu medication was too expensive

Heather Holland, 38, a second-grade teacher in Texas, came home early from work last month feeling mildly sick with flu symptoms and fatigued.

Over the next few days, she decided not to pay a $116 copayment for medication, and within a week she had died.

Her husband, Frank Holland, said she could have afforded the medication, but she refused to buy it because it was so expensive.

Here in Australia they were charging people for the Flu vaccine then found out no one wanted to pay for it so they made it free and then told everyone last year the vaccine had failed and 18 people died . What a crock.
