What, you guys didn't play kickball ? That heavy red ball would definitely rattle your brain pan, today they'd have safety glasses, knee pads, helmets and a day of safety orientation before you touched the thing. When I was a kid playing baseball when you lost you lost, there was none of the 'everybody wins' nonsense. If someone teased you and you beat the snot out of them the worst that happened was the parents would be called, today its lawyers. I see young kids running around in jammies and flip flops with their noses buried in phones and think we are doomed as a species.
I am thinking of an incident in 6th grade. I was obese and crowding 6' and was physically much larger than the rest of the students One smartass who was my nemesis who delighted in teasing me made the mistake of pushing me a little too hard one day and I remember picking him up like a doll and beating him unconscious against a marble wall, the music teacher saw this and tried to pull me off and couldn't soon enough. His father only asked if he learned a lesson and he most certainly did. Today they'd call the cops and grief counselors an probably shut down the school.
