Game of Thrones & House of Dragon

I have watched the show from the beginning and can say I'm pretty unhappy with how things are unfolding... :( Not only did two of my favorites die in the Battle of Winterfell (not that upset, they were good deaths and it is the last season) but now it seems like the writers are going the predictable route instead of shaking things up and making things line up with Dany's vision from season 2, but ignoring other prophecies in the show... it makes no sense to me.

So how they say "Every time a Targaryen is born, the gods toss a coin and the world holds its breath to see how it will land." I was never a big fan of Daenerys, nor did I want her to end up on the Iron Throne, but they did her dirty by having her end up like the Mad King..

I have been sort of bored with it. Mediocre writing. After all this, the people that brought the Red Wedding, this is what we get?

Reminds me of other pop cult shows like the Sopranos. For all the cool stuff there was an awful lot of bad we choose not to think about. Meadow's college friends, AJ's girlfriend .....

I was originally a fan of the books. I've enjoyed the show, though I still favor the books. I enjoyed seeing this fairly nerdy thing that I liked becoming a thing practically everyone in the U.S. knew about. It was fun for me to see people really getting into this stuff.

At some point, definitely by the past season, I think it felt more and more like the show was working from an outline (understandably so) and just kind of rushing from plot point to plot point.

But, at least we'll get some idea of how the story in the books was probably going to end, I think. And the show still looks amazing.

Poll: Most 'Game of Thrones' Viewers Liked Finale Despite Online Outrage

Some 26 percent of viewers who watched the episode replied that they liked the finale "a lot," while 37 percent liked it "some," 24 percent "didn't really like it" and 10 percent "didn't like it at all," according to a new Hollywood Reporter/Morning Consult poll.

The survey was comprised of 2,201 adults of different ages, genders and ethnicities, and whom exhibited varying degrees of fandom and TV viewing habits.

As far as cancellation fears go for HBO, the survey found that few subscribers were willing to part ways with the premium cabler after the show ended. Some 65 percent of respondents replied that "I don’t have plans to cancel" HBO, while 12 percent answered, "I have plans to cancel it."

Fifty-eight percent of respondents felt "disappointed" with the finale, 49 percent replied they were "satisfied" and 42 percent felt "frustrated." About 20 percent replied that they were "bored" by the episode.

On a scale of "1 to 10," 15 percent of respondents thought the finale was a "10," or "very good." Nearly 47 percent of respondents said they were "satisfied" with the series as a whole and 36 percent reported feeling "sad" about the final season. Roughly 44 percent remain devoted followers and loved the series from start to finish.

The poll also asked whether Game of Thrones viewers are likely to continue following the work of David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. Respondents were asked, "Does the involvement of the creators of the HBO series Game of Thrones make you more or less likely to see the upcoming Star Wars movie installment, or does it make no difference at all?" Nine percent said more likely and 7 percent said less likely.

But 69 percent of respondents answered that the finale makes no difference at all for the duo's Star Wars future, indicating that the writers will move forward being judged on their current projects and not their past work.

I have to say I had mixed feelings about the finale, I'm a fan with how things ended for Tyrion, Bran and the rest, and the fact that rulers will not simply be bred and heirs, but instead voted upon, even if not by the common folk.

However my favorite part was Jon's ending, to me it was the most fitting he could have received. He never wanted to rule, he never wanted any fancy titles. He always belonged in the true North, with Ghost and even if it means taking up the black again and being back where he started. It was very well written, in my opinion, altogether...

It sucked. I am so disappointed.

The writers got sloppy after they ran out of book, by George RR Martin, to follow.

The military strategy was awful. Why would you put the army of unsullied in front of the trench? It makes no sense. There's more problems with the strategy but, I don't have all day.

And if you are like me and invested 8/9 years into this show, it was clear to see that the story arch building for each leading character was either dropped or forgotten.

What happened to the prince or princess that was promised to stop the night king being the only one that could stop him? Arya was neither.

All the build up to who/what was going to happen to Cersei. Would she get what was coming to her? They drop a building on her. phifft!!!

They butchered Daenerys' character. They (the writers) got lazy and turned her into the mad king. She would never do that. Never...

Piers Morgan doesn't like the show at all it seems...

PIERS MORGAN: Let’s get real about Game of Thrones: It was unwatchable garbage that promoted a miserable, depressing, depraved and barbaric view of life

It was just a bunch of outlandish characters in silly costumes running around fornicating with people they shouldn’t be fornicating with, and killing anyone who gets in their way.

It shamelessly promoted bullying, manipulation, stupidity, sadism, misogyny malice, sexism, greed, rape and brutality.

And the good guys always ended up dead while the villains invariably survived and thrived.

That seems to be a trend with people. Wait until the show is complete then watch all the episodes. I think I've only seen a couple. I don't have the patience to sit through most shows.

Well, I'm sort of watching these episodes in order, there's been a few times I've skipped around a bit, like today for instance...I watched a season 8 episode, number three, it could stand on its own merits as a movie would...This episode is an intense one, I hate to give any spoilers, but it will keep you on your seat for the entire hour and it goes nonstop for every minute...

Season 8 episode 3 called the Long Night is one of the most intense zombie action episodes or movies I've ever seen before...World War Z had some intense scenes and some scenes in this Game of Thrones episode were equally matched....I really like the medieval setting for a zombie apocalypse like this one and the look on their faces when they see tens of thousands of zombies rushing to their castle...A really well done episode...
