It’s very difficult to listen to Don Ecker these days. He tends to blow up at every little thing. He loves to interject his name into whatever subject is being discussed. Perhaps worst of all, he is only interested in people and cases from the past. Anything recent and he couldn’t care less.
I wonder why he still appears on the Paracast. He has to know what Steinberg is all about. Ecker prides himself on being a detective in his past life, yet he buries his head in the sand when it comes to Steinberg’s antics. Go figure.

I kept track yesterday. we had tops 15
online.
low point was 6.
paracast went from zero to 3.
Gene was on for a bit And Randall.
As for Andres and his magic bullet what are they planing?
I know we may go to 2.0 but there are just so much bells and whistles you can add. For his efforts the forum looks the same as when I left.
I can only speculate what he will add. maybe the rocktiod woman...

This is funny because a number of people including myself have tried getting ourselves removed from his lists. It seems to work for a little while but the next time Gene has a crisis the messages start again.
That is not an accident. Gene does not care if people want to receive these messages or not, he just puts that on the messages to give him a way to explain away why he is spamming people. If people complain he will just say it is an error or a bug and keep sending out the messages.
Further if he was honest and above board people should not have to opt out of lists that they didn't join in the first place. We signed up for the forum and newsletter, nowhere did we agree to receive continuous begging messages.
It is not up to us to opt out, if he had any ethics at all he would understand that.
He did have a "begging only" list (which I've noticed he no longer mentions) - I suspect nobody signed up for it, beyond people who were just curious to follow his shenanigans, so he went back to forcing everyone to put up with his begging.

Steinberg only knows one way to live his life. He’s never cared to hold down a real job. He can use his websites as a conduit to ask others to support him. It’s worked so well in the past. Only now, everyone is catching on to his scam and the money is not flowing in as in the past. He has to pull out every sob story statement in order to play at the casino.

So I flipped today and responded to the forum message because I've unsubscribed three times but still get his begging. I cussed at him, called him worthless, and told him he's an embarrassment to his entire family.
He wrote back and told me he had 3 jobs and that he was going to give my abusive email the the authorities. What. A. Joke.
I admit it was a bit harsh but honestly Uber/Lyft= 1 job and Podcasting= Hobby. He's such a waste of space and deserves all the misery that befalls him.

My guess is: mobile phone bill(s), car insurance, possibly minimum payments on medical bills, maybe bills for streaming services (Netflix / Hulu / What have you - maybe not tho since they are in a motel now...), then possibly any charges for the Paracast / Tech Night Owl and their online presences. 'Payday loans' to repay maybe?
I agree he shouldn't really be paying for utilities since he is in a motel, unless he has some back log bill to work off but, frankly, hard to imagine him making any payments he doesn't absolutely have to.

This exactly - he has a bag of (mostly slimy) tricks and that's all he's willing to use.
He has bet it all on the Paracast and he can't be nudged off that position.
Reality will catch up with him someday; his survival strategies already have landed him in a motel for three months and counting.
I'm sure his circumstances could be worse but, it's past time he realizes what he is doing is not working.
Of course if you try to tell him this, you're public enemy #1. But he'll still ask you for donations.
