so what happened to gene while i was gone, new motel? prison? police?
i wanna know

Nothing. He can now accept Paypal payments again - not clear if he won against the "bogus" complaint though. I somehow doubt it.

Also the website revamp is done, except it's not a revamp. He just pressed the button to upgrade to the latest version of the Xenforo software - something he did himself on the Rockoids (yes it exists) website nearly a year ago. It looks almost identical to the point where I had to double check it had changed.

Finally activity on the forum is even worse than before. Even Randall can't be bothered to post now - looks like he gave up on his plan to fake activity.

I'm wondering if he is getting close to the realisation that he sold his soul for some some magic beans that are actually painted rat droppings.

Schemey strikes again! Another reputation ruined. I suppose if Randall leaves Schemey will find another sucker who will work for some misguided idea of celebrity (if such a thing even exists in Ufology).

When he does inevitably leave I suggest that the Scheme Gene musical team compose "Randall in the wind" (Goodbye Schemey Gene, though I never knew you at all....etc). I'm sure they will do a good job with it!

he needs money

I think if he won the Lotto he would still need money. It's like a universal constant. The only thing that never changes. I believe Stephen Hawking wrote it into his final paper. In our universe Schemey can never have enough money. Maybe if we shoved him into a blackhole he would emerge in a parallel universe where he could budget and get by like a normal person.

No he did send one yesterday, Wednesday. "You can help save my future!"

I missed that one then, I didn't see it posted here...

And then over at the UFO Trail someone commented with Gene's copious email references to "future" (his / the) going back to sometime in 2014. The Shadow shared those references here and I think we all may have died inside a little for contemplating them.

As Above So Below

Thanks, so many posts yesterday I missed that one lol...

Through the years, I’ve also been harassed by a pack of cyberbullies that has also contacted potential donors, guests and advertisers and asked them to stay away from me. Recently, one of my outside employers was contacted with a bogus complaint.

So having bald tires on his car that would put passengers in his riding sharing gig at risk is a bogus complaint?...Would he rather get into a car accident and possibly injure his passengers seriously or risk death?...

Sometimes I wonder if he reads what he writes...

In two emails he put out that his worn tires were a dire problem. "Everything is collapsing!" if I recall. Yet when someone reports he may be driving on unsafe tires, allegedly merely by passing along Gene's emails to Uber, it's a "bogus complaint". Perhaps bogus only in the sense that he wasn't actually attempting to drive on those supposedly worn out tires? Unevenly worn tires at that! He was very concerned with that point. He needed your money not just for tires, but for an alignment as well. No one else runs into these kind of expenses. No one who claims to make part of their living by driving has to budget for routine car maintenance and normal wear and tear. This was an unforeseen crisis no one could have expected him to prepare for. Everything was collapsing.

Not that I should care but, honestly I hope he (finally really?) is doing a bunch of driving for Uber or Lyft now. It just doesn't make sense to me that if he really wants to get back into an apartment he can't put the money for that together by driving a lot. He has plenty of time; I know he can't drive at night but surely some people want rides in the daylight? Anyway, good grief, straighten yourself out and do the work and get back into an apartment Gene, if you can find one that will take you.

I guess the whining in the emails will never stop regardless though.

These so called “Friends of the show” have to know what Steinberg is all about. There too many other websites talking about Steinberg’s begging. You would have to assume these guests don’t care. They are more interested in shilling their books and other products.

It’s a “bogus complaint” because someone reported to it Uber/Lyft and Steinberg had to deal with it or not drive passengers otherwise. He doesn’t have enough common sense to know he is endangering others by his callous actions. It’s all about raking in the money. Everyone else be damned.

Something like that. Sharon Hill claimed she wouldn't get any kind of book sale boost from doing the Paracast, and that she gets so many requests to do podcast interviews she doesn't have time to look into how unsavory a particular host might be. Sooo... I don't know what she felt she'd get out of it. She's just one example I suppose.

My own experience with getting guests for podcasts (circa 2008-2009) was that it was waaaay easier to get someone to come on for an interview if they had a book or something to promote. "Skin in the game", is how I would think about it. Yes sometimes you could get other folks but so often the pool of available guests seemed crowded with folks who wanted to promote themselves. Other folks just didn't have the interest in spending the time. Seemed understandable to me, though could be frustrating.

Perhaps the paranormal is a topic area where people are used to giving one another the benefit of a doubt. I think it's usually more of a question for guests than hosts however. But if you're making all or part of your living in this field, such as it is, you have probably become accustomed to giving others the benefit of a doubt and not calling them crazy or a fraud (not in every case but, pretty regularly I imagine). So maybe the same lack of passing judgment comes into play when people are told they should not support Gene by going on his show?

A person has to wonder how long the house of cards can stay standing. Every time I look there are zero members in the chat rooms. Steinberg evidently can’t bring himself to call it quits. The game is nearly up Steinberg. The money ruse you have been pulling is now failing. Find real employment and you won’t have to go through all the torture and have to demean yourself daily.

Perhaps these guests know the seedy nature of those who inhabit the world of Ufology. It’s part and parcel of doing business so they don’t look too hard at who is interviewing them.

Yeah that certainly could be. And meanwhile I don't know that interview podcasts always do the greatest job doing due diligence on their guests. But if you threw out every guest I had one or another problem with, you wouldn't have a lot of people left to talk to, especially if I were in a bad mood at the time. Everyone sets the bar differently and can justify their own approach. Even when I listened to the Paracast they interviewed some guests who I now hold in low regard. Others probably still think they are just fine.
