I can't remember what the message said. I just remember the ridiculously histrionic title. I tried having a look for it but haven't been able to find it - may well have ended up in my junk folder and got deleted permanently.

I did find something interesting from just a little bit later when I was looking for it. This is an email from January 2015 which seems to suggest that Gene thinks it is acceptable for him to read personal messages and he expects forum members to snitch on others who criticise him in personal messages.

An Important Message About Our Terms of Service

As you probably know, the forum's Terms of Service basically says be nice to one another and don't do anything illegal. The forum's moderators tend to be relaxed about enforcing these guidelines to a point. When a member is banned, temporarily or permanently, it has to be due to a blatant offense.

On occasion, the situation gets out of hand. One member attacks another member, and soon it's all about the flaming and the insults and not about the topics at hand.

But sometimes the offense is committed in private.

I'm sure some of you also know that I've asked for personal donations from time to time to help resolve a long-term financial problem. Nobody is forced to send a donation, and those who don't want to receive those messages are free to say stop sending them. Anyone who has a question about my situation is free to just ask.

Unfortunately, a handful of people, some of whom are members of this forum, have waged a campaign, both private and public, attacking me for daring to ask for help. They take the basic facts, exaggerate them, fear monger about them, and do what they can to create doubts.

This is a forum that is meant to encourage open and honest discussions about all things related to the paranormal. Our community exists out of mutual respect and an understanding that this is a safe environment for the study of those topics and ideas that would otherwise go unreported or ignored. When we engage in activities that promote distrust of forum members, it demeans the integrity of this forum and destroys the very community we have patiently built.

It is, therefore, necessary for the survival of The Paracast community that we stop spreading rumors about the administrators of this site or those who choose to participate in our forums. Accusing me, without allowing me to defend myself, of being a "con man," is a classic example of defamation, which goes against our Terms of Service. Anyone who engages in this activity, regardless of the intended target, will be asked to apologize and retract those accusations. Failure to comply will result in the permanent banning of that member.

Private messages are indeed meant to be private, but should still not violate those Terms of Service. As part of an Honor System, I would request that any messages that malign or otherwise defame any member of the community be brought to the attention of this site's administrators. The integrity of this forum depends on the ability for us to air our grievances and have respectful rebuttals of any accusations. If we cannot respect and trust each other, or if we allow the most malicious rumors to go unchecked behind the backs of others, we have lost everything that makes our community thrive.

I appreciate your help in this regard.

Thats very telling that he is checking everyones Paracast Forum messages as well as ruling the forum itself like a tyrant. Aside- I've heard someone from over at the UFO Trail is investigating Gene's accommodation situation for real. I'm hearing that Barb yells and screams all day too.

Monday began with little improvement. I’ve paid a few small bills, but I still have to catch up with the mobile phone bill, auto insurance, and there’s that auto maintenance coming soon.

The motel expects its money by 11 AM each day, no extensions, and prices are up as “snow birds” return to Arizona.

Despite some sort of stomach flu this weekend, I put as many hours as I could into the ride sharing gigs.

But I need help to catch up, so I can save for a new place and get my life back. Once that happens, it’ll be far easier to keep going.

If you know you are going to be at the motel for the foreseeable future, why would you be paying on a daily basis?? That would have to cost more than a weekly or monthly rate. Perhaps if Steinberg makes it a daily pay it sound more urgent.

Also, how does he know what auto maintenance will be coming soon? Did he put off getting the car fixed? I sure wouldn’t want to be riding with him if that is the case.

Well that's true but in Schemey's warped and dysfunctional mind if you are begging for money based on lies then you will pretend to pay daily in order to exaggerate your expenses.

Like most things Gene related it makes no sense at all.

Indeed in past e-begs he used to talk about paying weekly. There is no way he wouldn't be doing that. Not even Schemey is stupid enough to pay more money than he needs to yet he will have us believe that he does.

It's like he is so focussed on scamming he doesn't see the obvious logical contradictions in his lies which make it obvious that he is lying.

That is why he will always be a pathetic third rate scammer.

I don't know exactly what he thinks of when he says that; I assume it's roughly, he hits the reset button and is back in the Desert Mirage (well, an equivalent place, since he burned that bridge), yet this time somehow can pay for it. He still has all his furniture and other belongings, he has his car, he hasn't had to give up any electronics or online subscriptions services, and of course his all-important podcast infrastructure remains intact.

He has his life back then, is made whole. I think. He gets all those things despite lacking the funds to actually pay for all or even most of them. Somehow this happens. I really think that is what he is saying, and actually expecting to happen.

Gene, spoilers for you: here will be no catching up; and even if you could somehow magically catch up, going forward would in no way be easier. You live beyond your means. There are ways to fix that but you have to actually try one of them. Repeating the same behaviors that put you in the motel room appear to be barely adequate for keeping you there.

Well that or you're lying.
