I expect a public offering soon.
Same garbage as usual. He needs money to pay for everything. No mention of where social security goes. Now we have a resumption of the web store storyline - in what Universe does it take almost a year to make a webstore Gene? Either you are retarded or you think we are.
Also branded Mac accessories? This has to be a wind up. Not only is there no longer any audience for the Paracast/Tech night Owl, you are pinning your hopes on a niche within a niche within a niche. I'm one of the people who usually drinks the Apple Kool Aid but I've never ever bought anything Apple/Mac related that wasn't official - it makes no sense. Apple stuff is more expensive and all about design - why would you buy something cheap and nasty with a podcast logo on it? Also of your handful of listeners how many of them are Apple users? Only Gene could think this would make sense. Was bad enough when it was just mugs and T-shirts but this is some next level nonsense.
Yes you desperately need help Gene - that is for sure but the help you need is not money it's a brain transplant.
Here it is. Apparently we can save his life too. No exaggeration I'm sure.
total Jan. 2018 mails 10
Gene's 2018 5th mail happened on Jan 18th.
And he can save his miserable life to..
by moving into a senior center
I find it hard to believe that Steinberg is still pinning his hopes on trying to secure another apartment. He must not remember his past few apartment episodes. He and the local sheriff have become good buddies every time he has been evicted.
The last time I looked at the “junk” he was trying to sell on the Paracast, Chris O’Brien’s cartoon face was showing. That doesn’t seem like much of an “update” to me.
ROFL. If Gene says it then it must be true. He has such a track record of honesty:
The need is urgent alright, only the need is for gambling or drugs or whatever the hell Gene burns money on. It's almost as if he needs to keep asking for more and more and more - almost as if the begging itself is a drug for him.
Argh, OK, I was going to take a break from posting and commenting but:
Are Gene's finances really so complicated that he can't keep track of the fact that he spent $20 on gas, and that the transaction is pending to come out of his PayPal account?
I guess they must be. I know for me, when I've been low on cash, you can bet I micromanaged my accounts and kept track of every bill or expense so I didn't run out of money or go negative. And I did not run out of money or go negative. Neither did I buy everything I wanted.
I'm sorry but it's pretty sad he's (allegedly) this hapless. As has been pointed out though he's probably fine with everyone thinking him a dimwit or screw up if it means they fork over some cash.
Whether he actually is that hapless or not is irrelevant. He needs people to believe he is so that they keep sending him money. Personally I think this is another fake crisis so he can get more spending money - what he spends it on, that is the mystery.

Well that message is now from my perspective the most pathetic and benighted yet and not from a lack of opportunity, he seems to squander those as if he thinks he has a never-ending flow of money...If taken for face value this message from him sounds like he cannot take care of himself or even his wife for that matter and he needs to be put into a home both for his own good as well as her health and safety...Then on the flip side he continues to do his now silly podcasts which if taken for face value it would seem its all a lie, he doesn't care about his reputation or anything because he has believed his own lies for so long he has made a fool of himself without realizing it...Either way, people online need to know this guy is trying to scam monies, awareness is the way, if someone now googles his name this thread is at the top of the search results followed by Jack's blogs and that is a great thing, the more people who know about this hoodwinker the less money he will con people out of...
Oh sweet baby Jesus.
We're one of the families who are severely affected by the shutdown (husband is a USDA inspector, no paycheck, and my contract depends HEAVILY on bankruptcy filings, also affected), and I am watching EVERY. SINGLE. PENNY. and have been for the last FIVE WEEKS, because I could see the writing on the wall.
Yet all my bills are current till the end of the month, and while I don't have a lot of cash on hand, I do have a bit, and we're being very, very careful about our spending.
And I don't know about anybody else, but my debit cards don't work for gas unless there's a hundred bucks in the account. Just sayin'.
I never pay at the pump, I always pay inside the store at the counter, this way there is no retainer held and yes its usually a 100 dollars not 20 dollars lol...
Sorry to hear that. Times are tough and I'm sure you're not the only person who is in this situation and has to hear Gene constantly begging and refusing to behave responsibly. He seems to have no concept of the daily struggles the average person faces and thinks it is perfectly fine to ask people who are in situations like yourself for money so he can continue living beyond his means. I bet right now you would be grateful to receive $2k every month tax free. That is what Gene gets and he still manages to make it vanish every month (and that doesn't take account of any money he raises by other means). I still sometimes find myself shocked by quite how disgusting and despicable he is.
I have said many times that I went through a robbery and about 30 days of unemployment. I never ever considered begging. after Christmas I had $220 in the bank.
a wife and 5 kids .. car condominium food utilities cable. only my cellphone is late.
budgeting is my key to keeping the wolf of want away.
Yep. Appreciate the sympathy. I'm...not going to get into politics here, I'm just going to say that grandstanding and holding hundreds of thousands of families financial hostages really sucks.
And regarding Gene-O's tax free $2K a month?
If I can get by on a little more than that -- about $3K after taxes -- to house, feed, and clothe a family of four? He should damn well be able to do it on $2K for two people. Period.
He's just casting a broad net. He does it because it works, or at least did.
Tax free $2K per month would go a long way for me.
