Yet this steaming turd of a human being has no remorse at all. He acts like he is the victim and everyone else is being unreasonable in calling him out.

There's a reason his very wealthy older brother excommunicated him. Just think how much it would take for an elder brother to cut off his "baby" brother - I have younger brothers and I would do anything for them.

He is toxic to his core and any kind of association with him only brings suffering to everyone else. He probably realised that his whole family was at risk from the scumbag and had to take drastic action.

Once you realise you have a sociopath in the family the only option is to get as much distance from them as possible and save yourself and the rest of your family.

Gene Steinberg’s family apparently wanting nothing to do with him makes me wonder if the substance abuse theory is true. I think most people know at this point not to enable an addict.

An addiction could also explain his willingness to rush out to a McDonald’s hoping to score cash.

But it’s just a theory; there are other possibilities, many strange but, it has to be said the whole damn thing is pretty hard to believe anyway.

I disagree. When someone has a substance problem you might reduce contact with them and certainly stop enabling them/supporting the addiction but it is very rare for people to cut ties completely and permanently. He wasn't even mentioned in his brother's obituary - for all intents and purposes it was like he never existed.

I think this is much more consistent with him being a sociopathic personality who likely grifted his own family members to the point that they realised that cutting him off was the only way to protect themselves from further harm.

People can recover from addiction and rebuild their lives. Sociopathy is not something that anyone "recovers" from - it is not something the sociopath himself or herself sees as a problem.

Of course it is entirely possible that he suffers from an addiction too - the kind of people who steal from their own family and rip others off to feed an addiction may also have sociopathic traits and they are not mutually exclusive.

However, I think an addiction on it's own does not really fit the picture or indeed our own personal experience of how Gene behaves. He literally has no remorse or conscience. Most people who have a substance problem do have guilt and remorse for the things they do - indeed they feel great shame about it.

Gene is the opposite - he seems to think it is fine and revels in it. Remember how he was simultaneously begging and boasting about his newly leased car on online forums. These are not the actions of anyone who feels in any way bad or guilty about their scamming.

addiction makes sense. after all the fact he went to a McDonald's and jumped into a ball pit looking for a payday is telling.

Certainly it could be a component of his behaviour but I don't think it is likely to be the reason his family cut him off.

Someone suggested Borderline Personality Disorder or whatever, and having dealt with a coworker thus afflicted I'd say it sounds about right. They are generally intractable, incompetent, self-destructive, insanely deluded and no fun to be around. It is very difficult to feel any sympathy for them, even though it's obvious they are very ill, because they are raging assholes so frequently. That's about the only sort of immediate family member I can imagine myself completely disowning. Not being mentioned in a brother's obit is a red flag about the size of the flag outside a Perkins restaurant.

To paraphrase Gene, you did your share, more than what my wife and I contributed. I hope that you will be rewarded in other ways.

I also think about the commercial loans that were discharged through bankruptcy - Mr. Amazing gave him 0ver $4500. Speedy Cash, Credit Unions, car loan companies, a business equipment leasing company, credit card and charge accounts all did their share as well.

Including Torson, Gene received over $73,000. Add to that the money he since has owed to landlords. The unknown money given to him throughout the years. All of that led to the motel bill coming due each day at 11 a.m. It becomes apparent that there is nothing anyone can do. Even if Helene came through with that long-expected settlement, he would use any money he received to buy a new computer to compose his emails.

    more truth from Trail.
      1. Yes , Yes i do
As many others have pointed out, there are various seniors centers, and other aid agency's that would provide a daily nutritious meal. With the added bonus of also providing information in regards to other services they could use.
And of course in a full time residential aged care facility, towards which he is inevitably traveling, Groceries are all provided for.

A child dies every five seconds in this world.......

Ten have perished in the time it took to write this, and for you to read it.

An estimated 6.3 million children died before their 15th birthdays in 2017, or one every five seconds, mostly due to a lack of water, sanitation, nutrition and basic healthcare, according to report by United Nations agencies.

The vast majority of these deaths – 5.4 million – occur in the first five years of life, with newborns accounting for around half of the deaths

When you think about that. Gene has ZERO problems.

Gene has the freedom, the ability to choose his chains, these children are born in them, live in them and all too soon die wearing them.

I complained because i couldn't afford groceries, until i met a child that didn't have clean water, drank dirty water and died............

You can see a formula that repeats itself, a pattern.

      Create the problem:
Looming threat i wont have a roof over my head. He has learned this factor gets the most sympathy and donations.

      Propose solution:
Get a new cheaper apartment. He has figured out that people wont help those who wont help themselves. So the scam needs to cover that aspect so it doesnt seem like you are just throwing your money at a perpetual motel bill forever.

      The motel:
This allows him to propagate the "looming threat" aspect on a daily basis, instead of weekly or monthly if he were living in an apartment.

No one lives in a motel for 7 months, barely scrapping up the daily rent.
You could buy a tent and inflatable mattress for less than 50 bucks at walmart. assuming 50 dollars a day rent at the motel, and given its been 7 months. If he had "gone camping" just one week in each of those months, renting a motel for the other 3 weeks per month that would be 2,450 towards a new apartment. If he did a week on week off. one week in the motel to rest up and do the laundry etc. And one week camping like people do on vacation all the time. That would be $4,900 bucks saved.

There are solutions, anyone as desperate as he claims he is would do it, would find a way.

Walmart website: 4 person camping dome 35 bucks, inflatable queen sized mattress 15 bucks. One days motel rent for unlimited free camping , vacation style.

It would be interesting to know how much money Gene has burned through in the last few years. I would guess it might well work out into the hundreds of thousands of dollars range, despite him claiming to be destitute.

I think he keeps it a secret for that very reason. Not a good idea to grift people and let them know where you live. He also doesn't want debt collectors showing up and taking his "meagre" new stuff.

Translation - "Feel free to delete this and unsubscribe but you will receive these messages forever because funding my lifestyle through charity fraud is more important to me than offending lots of people by sending this spam."

Translation: "My grifting (which is how I "earn" my income) is being impacted by a group of people who are telling the truth about me and trying to stop others from getting scammed. Obviously I don't like it."

Also I like how he says it is a "small" group. It's actually a large group - almost everyone who has every encountered and been scammed by this steaming pile of rancid turd is against him. That includes people who have worked with him.

Translation "My failings are everyone else's fault and I will continue to make up lies to garner more sympathy. Obviously I'm always the victim."

Here's a clue Turdboy. Scamming people via charity fraud is not considered a way to "improve income" by any normal person.

Lol the way to deal with them is to stop scamming. It's like a serial bank robber asking why he keeps ending up in jail and keeps complaining about police harassment but resolutely refuses to stop committing robberies.

I can't imagine really doing this even if I had the money, but I've fantasized about hiring a private detective to keep tabs on Gene for a week. Again, I wouldn't do this in reality, but in my idle fantasies it's like, ok: does he go to a liquor store a lot? Is he really driving for Uber / Lyft much? Is he in a hotel? Is his wife still there too? Is he really paying the hotel each day? Just keep an eye on him for a couple weeks and report back to me on these and other thrilling details....

Speaking as a 'stalker', I don't want you to ask for donations. You can sell cheap junk through your websites all day long for all I care. I'm skeptical you'll get much income out of those sales but, hey, knock yourself and your pal Anders out. Go for it. But stop taking advantage of the goodwill of people such as those who commented on this thread not long ago about the money they gave you.
